Maybe tennis just isn't a winter game...

It's OK. Nobody is perfect. lol
Why did you live in Switzerland? You find it too organized and predictable there but I hear the same stuff about Austria.
That's why I want to go to Helsinki LOL. Austria sure is no third world country but compared to Switzerland Austria is chaotic.

Being here suburbs of Helsinki, my only worry in the very cold we had over the weekend was if car started (it did!)... I only play tennis in the winter nowadays (no time in the summer really, and getting adjusted takes time...)... but we have great indoor courts. No problem playing in -25C when it's 20C inside on the court. :) The outdoor courts, well, they are closed, they take the nets off etc. So basically there's the May-Aug outdoor season and then the rest of the year indoors. As a kid, I only did the summer season (played daily), now clay courts don't really call me anymore...

I once had friends who lived in Helsinki. They said that people would avoid eye contact at all costs. Sounds like a shiite place.

Sounds like I'd fit in there, although their winters are brutal so that wouldn't be a good fit for me. I need it to be over 60 Fahrenheit everyday, otherwise I'll have a rough time.
