I hit one handed backhand, heavily top forehand, big serve, kick and flat. I need a new racquet that is better from the baseline than the POG mid. I obviously want it to help my weapons, forehand and serve. I am about to recieve a pure drive roddick standard and a rds001 and a fischer m speed 98. Please help me!?!?!

I have already tried it, i didnt like the feel of it for some reason, from the description it suits my style down to the T but it felt a bit too tinny.

What is lacking from your POG mid? That's such a nice, solid racquet for bliners. Why not experiment with better/more powered string setup rather than going to a whole new racquet?

I actually pulled mine out tonight to play some doubles. Man, did it feel good on service returns and volleys!!

I love the feel of the racquet, and i have my own stringer so i have tried out pretty much all the tensions i can to get it to play how i want but i cannot seem to get it to be powerful enough as say, a PD. I also want something lighter. I am young and after like 4 hours of tennis my arm gets fatigued and i get lazy.

It is not so much my body that is tired, it is my arm, that is why i am looking for a racquet that plays great from the baseline, has some more power and lots of spin. I love playing tennis i can just play all day but after a while my arm becomes somewhat restless and uncomfortable, not painful but just doesnt feel right and it doesnt swing through how i want it to. I used to play with a wilson pro staff zone 7.1 and it was perfect. But it snapped and i couldnt get more.

Maybe POG OS. Similar feel to MP but with alot more power.
Of course, you can get the PD and have elbow problems for the rest of your life...

I've found the nblade to be total quality its swingweight isnt alot lower (higher than an n61 95 but JUST lower than a tour) and i dont think alot of people know the nblade is actually from the 6.0 line.!!

If you are a true b-liner then I agree with JonnyF. The nBlade sucks at the net though. I would also recommend the Bab Pure Control. I don't know what it is about this stick but it just wants to hit heavy balls from everywhere on the court. It turned my 1HBH from a decent stroke to a weapon. I know a lot of haters think that it is all about technique (which it mostly is) but the right racquet can make decent strokes much better.

Thanks heaps guys,
I am thinking about the Nblade, it seems nice and light so it is a good platform for leading up. Also i have been eyeing of the pure control for a long time but whenever i come to demoing racquet i always seem to over look it. The other thing i dont like about my POG is that it is too head light for a baseline game if you know what i mean, it swings through too quickly (for my liking anyway). I am currently waiting on my 33m roll of lead tape to come and then i may try and weight it up to make it more solid and head heavy, but the the racquet will be heavier and then my arm will get fatigued quicker. I am not too keen on the POG OS, i have never been a fan of OS racquets plus i dont know how mum would go buying me a racquet that looks the same with a bigger head, she struggles to see differences in racquets other than the colour. SO on my next demo list is Nblade and Pure Control. Thanks
Please keep up the suggestions

Hey, I just thought about a couple more suggestions. Some popular racquets of baseliners at the store I work at are:

Prince O3 White
Prince O3 Red

Wilson nBlade (as we've already discussed)
Wilson nTour Two

Head FXP Fire
Head FXP Heat
Head FXP Radical Tour

Volkl DNX 8

Yonex RD7
Yonex RQS 11 (this has been the best selling Yonex racquet we sell)
Yones RDS 003

Hope these help!!!

Have you tried 17g multi (eg. NRG2, X1 Biphase, Venom) at mid 40# range with a soft 18g poly crosses at few lbs. higher? This combo has tremendous power from the bline. Adding 4 grams at 2/10 o'clock will help out, too.

If you can find the stats, try using those to find a racquet that matches up.

My son is a baseline basher and uses the Head LM Rad OS, and has strokes/game much like yours except for a two-handed BH...the MP might be better for you than the OS.

DNX 8 is a possibility...very solid racquet that can generate balls w/a lot of pace.

My fav, M-Fil 300 is probably lighter than you'd want if you're coming from a POG and only want to reduce weight a little.

So far the options that i have worked out for myself are the RDS001 MP, Fischer M Speed MP and Pure Drive Roddick. From you guys i think i may have to demo a Mfil 300 (the light weight is good as i can add weight to make it perfect without having it too heavy) and the Pure Control

This post is tremendous, everyone is extremely helpful and i think i may soon find my racquet of choice. Please keep up the good work and also if anyone could post some pointers/rules about using lead tape?

You have my exact same style of play. I use an RDX 500 right now. I demoed the APD and thought that it was too tinny (I exactly used that exact same description). I liked the Pure Drive much more (much more solid feel, not tinny whatsoever). Didn't like the Pure Drive Roddick as much, since it had a softer feel than I'd like (most likely due to the cortex).

RDS 001 won't help if you want to reduce the effort input of your arm. This is why I'm switching from my rdx 500, because my arm would get tired after a while (exact same situation as you, again). The rds is a powerless racquet from the baseline, and requires a very large swing. Doesn't help that I use a western grip, I guess. It had good spin and control, though. I prefer my rdx over it.

Pure drive roddick you might like. I didn't like the cortex. I'd rather just lead up a pure drive standard a bit. Let us know how the M-Fil plays. Unfortunately I don't have the option of demoing that.

So are you saying that the RDX 500 MP has a lot more power?
Also i dont know if i can still get them over here in Aus. I will try. Thanks for your input.

I found the power level to be roughly the same. I like the RDX more because I've used it for a long time, probably. Neither of them are that great. Don't get either if you want a lighter, easier swinging racquet.

I found the RDX 500s and the RDS 001s kind of disappointing. I wouldn't call any of them great baseliners sticks for the modern game. Obviously they will suit some people very well, but they don't stand out. The NSRQ7 however is much more suited to the modern baseline game. It's a little light in stock form though, so if you don't like customisation it may be best avoided.
