I have hit with it. Completely different than the older version. It has been re-done quite a bit, for the better IMO. I was never a fan of the circle shaped head. New one will be more traditional shape with thinner beam.

@HEAD Penn Official Besides the starting weight and balance, what is the difference between the Touch Speed MP and Touch Speed Adaptive? According to TW specs, the Adaptive has a lower stiffness and no shared holes. Why would it have a difference drill pattern?
Also, has the Adaptive stuff been well received? It seems like a great idea, but nobody really talks about it around here.

I am wondering this as well. The idea is really cool. But everywhere I look they have been super discounted! My local shop is selling them dirt cheap with kit included.

What???? No Extreme Pro??? That was the best racquet in your line up (in my opinion)....such good spin, plow and comfort. Sad it is not moving forward.

Will this be a more flexible version like the previous Team or Lite models. Also, will the handle be hollow to allow silicone injection?

I like the idea of changing the shape of the Extreme. But no Extreme Pro? Head just keeps shooting themselves in the foot.

One of the nice things about the roundish head on the extreme models is that the bridge is further from the handle, making the sweetspot slightly higher towards the tip of the racket (relative to other 100sq in frames). I really liked that aspect of it. And there is only so much that lead tape can do, at some point the extra weight doesn't have the functional structural element(s) that a heavier stock racket would have. I'm disappointed that the extreme pro model is going away. I understand that it didnt sell enough but it's still a bummer. The new beam geometry is interesting though.
In my opinion an extreme pro model with a 98 sq in head would be a potentially outstanding player's tweener. Has ~98% of the power and forgiveness of a tweener, with the heft and stability of a players frame, but with slightly improved accuracy and feel relative to the pure drive category of competitors. That could be a fantastic frame. Potentially what a pure strike tour 16x19 could have been. Sadly Babolat dropped the ball on that one too.

I hope Head fired the person responsible for the HORRENDOUS paintjob of the past Extreme and got a new person to design it
That is one of 2 racquets I would never use, even if it was the perfect specs for me (the other is another horrible paintjob Volkl)

I asked this question to my local Head rep and he directed it to Roger Petersman, HEAD's Senior Category Manager (can be seen in TW Head stringing room videos). Paraphrasing his response he said that the touch Adaptive has a completely different lay up than the regular touch MP does and it starts out a little lighter because of this.
I took this as the racquet is made lighter to allow for the customization to work. The RA must be effected by the different lay up of materials and therefore drops, making the racquet more flexible. The different drill patterns mimic how the XT Speed MPA and the XT Speed Ltd worked. My thoughts on this once again... In order to make the mains fit in with a 16x16 pattern, the drill pattern had to be altered slightly. The XT Speed Ltd did not have adaptive grommets so it used the same string pattern as the XT Speed S to space the mains correctly. The Chinese market had a version of the XT Speed MP which had no adaptive and used the same shared holes drilling pattern.

I tried the pro stock version. The main strings are too dense imo.
Racket was also slightly extended and felt a little sluggish. Would like to try the retail and hope Head will open the string pattern if they update the frame.

I added a bunch of silicone to a pair to bring them up to 340g. Haven't added any lead in the head yet because I wanted to try them very head light. They play way better than stock. Really enjoyed them for doubles and served really well with them. The thing that never totally goes away is the feel and sound. The Rev Pro unfortunately is being compared to one of the greatest racquets ever made (Prestige Classic) and it is not in that league.

Do you find the feel that bad? Admittedly its no classic but it's not a shocker. I would agree great for doubles.

It's ok. It's just that once you've played the great Austrian made HEAD frames, you realize what you're missing. There is no comparison, really.

I grew up playing with the Prestige 600 and went to the Premier Tour 630. Sold my last 3 about 4 years ago after being out of the game through injury for years. Just getting back into playing competitively again after knee surgery and have been using an Ai 98. Have realised pretty quickly it's not for me despite seeing the appeal. Miss a thinner beam smaller head and lighter to customise so thought a Rev would make sense. Only played with it once but like the whip on it. Any recommendations for anything else to try?

Yeah, that keeps coming up and is definitely on the list. Spoke to Paul but they don't have a demo program anymore. Blind bought the Ai's based on reviews so a little gun shy of doing that again.

the rev pro is such a sexy little frame, and the xt is even better. i would d*** around with strings and tensions, the feel can be improved.

XT is the stick I have so that's good to hear. Any recommended string combo's tensions? Used to roll a prestige classic at 60lbs for reference but understand that everyone strings lower these days. Sounding very old.

It has that classic HEAD feel that we all miss. Plays like a slightly crisper Pro Tour 630. Closest to the Pro Tour 630 that I have ever used.

I don't think so.
The only grommets that MIGHT fit are the old prestige Mid grommets.... but those were all 18/20. The Rev Pro is 16/19
