Bless Borna's pretty little heart

They did a close up on Borna Coric's racquet during his match against Stevie and I noticed he has the same sparkly-heart dampener that my sister has a few packets of. Nothing wrong with it, I just found it to be kinda cool.. dude sporting the sparkly heart.

Well, he did smash up his racket pretty good. Gave Dimitrov a run for his money for best smashed-racket-performance of the season :)

If you watched coric closely you could also see he had the hook hanger still dangling out of his Nike hat!! I cracked up!!

It was that stupid sparkly heart dampener that he pounded into the dust of RG with his penultimate dummy spit!

It has to go, just like Djokos smiley face dampener had to go before he started winning anything.

That match was a lot of everything going on. You had Stevie falling to the court so emotional with all he's been through.. and on the other side Coric lost his ever-loving mind -- a match that close.
They both had chances to pull away from each other and win but... you couldn't have two more opposite emotional reactions.

That is the "stock" weight! Borna, Monfils and Keys all customize their rackets with weight; but the lay up on the new frame is the same as the "pro's" rackets.
So Borna's starting weight is only 305g? And his frame isn't pro stock but the same as the retail ones?o_O Pardon my initial incredulity, but not many higher ranked male pros in particular play with retail with a base weight of 305g - of course it's possible. Apparently Thiem starts with a 305-ish gram retail for that matter lol

Borna's weight is NOT 305. He customizes much higher than that. His frame is pro stock and the NEW retail frame available on 8/15 will be the same pro stock mold and lay up. It will be made available to the public for the first time...

I'm not trying to mislead or confuse anyone...
I'm simply stating that finally rackets (mold and layup) will be available to the public that pros use; PS RF 97, Burn 95, Blade SW 104 and this new frame that Coric, Monfils and Keys are using. Pros customize their frames with weight and balance and they don't like to share that information. But in the past you couldn't even purchase many pro player's mold and layup; now you can.

So basically a lead, tungsten, and silicone free H19?

No,that's not true. I've held his racquet and even had a chance to play for a while with it. It is H19 and like H22, it will go out for sale. His racquet will probably turn out as a new Wilson Ultra ( only endorsed by Borna )and that's it.

You know that this will never happen? Borna is playing with H19 and that model will never go out, like H22 and others.

Yeah, that's what I was attempting to clarify, is he saying we will be sold what we know as H19 or are these the specs of what they are endorsing.

@TennisTodd is saying that a racquet from the H19 mold with the layup used by the players will hit the market.

@roger presley on the other hand is saying that it won't be an H19 mold and the players using the H19 will simply endorse some sort of Ultra model.

Time will tell who was correct.

They may never hit retail, but a racquet company with a desire to please the 1% could make some money off the project. If Wilson were to release the H19 in a basic package/precustomized weight at a price point of say $300, they could make some good coin and keep their superuser base happy. Heck, it does not even need to come with a grip, just a base foam handle or pallet system and the hairpin. Something for the end user to truely customize and make their own. Update the paint job every two years so that the racquet is still flying the colors for other players to see and be influenced by so that they still get marketing value out of it. People are paying $250+ for autograph versions and limited paint runs, so a true base pro stock racquet would be even cheaper to produce with a higher profit margin. Do something like Technifibre and release it in limited quantities as demand dictates so you do not have an overstock issue.

The first of the big boys to do this will surely profit from it and gain some loyalty from a highly vocal segment of the market.

Sorry if I've got this wrong but there seems to be a comprehension issue here; I written '...305 plus a substantial amount of lead'; '...starting weight is only 305' and you seem to keep stating that he doesn't play with 305g - as we say in the colonies 'no s#!t Sherlock!' I was trying to point out - politely - that I think it's doubtful - albeit possible - that he starts with retail, and especially, 305g retail. Like many others before him, he is/will be privy to some whiz-bang pro stock layup that, as many here have noted, is almost certainly not going to be sold retail. As @Automatix stated: 'Time will tell who is correct.' Unfortunately the vicissitudes of retail reality almost always prevail.

He starts with a hairpin that is less than 305. The only point I was trying to make is that the mold and layup will be available for the general public to purchase at weight and balance point that will allow for customization.

You don't know what you're talking about, you don't have a clue. Please listen and you can learn something.
Why are you so cynical??

I actually work in the industry and have these rackets in my possession now. They will be shown to dealers in the next several weeks and I'm sure photos and more info will come out soon. I can't release any photos myself due to my employment contract.

Stay tuned non believers!!

305 unstrung from the mfc is not that uncommon for prostocks. Many come in even lower. The unstrung prostock specs posted on this forum and from various online vendors include silicone and lead.

Just checked the H19s over at pr@st@cktennis.c@m, and they range from 324g to 330g unstrung, as well as 341g to 365g strung - the latter being a personal Monfils frame. To better be able to customize the frame to the users pref specs, it is better to start with 305 than 325 f.inst, and then change the grip to leather and/or add silicone to the handle and lead in the hoop acc. to prefs.

That being said, most of the H19s were foamfilled with leather grips.

And why are you so persistent on proving* every sceptic wrong?
When the Ultra line comes out everything will be known... or at least we will be able to verify the mold.
My friend who owns some prostocks (H22, H19, racquets belonging to Berdych, Dimitrov etc.) when I said the H19 might come out in retail said we're going to take one out for hit and compare it side by side. Granted not the best way to verify the layup considering mods such as lead and sillicone but we will try to get the retail to the specs of the prostock.

Now the specs you provided mean little to nothing in terms of mold - headsize & beam width are just a small part of the equation. Head geometry, beam geometry, length of shaft etc.

I am also a sceptic though due to the fact that not many players use it means H22/Steam99 users can still endorse Burns.
Secondly the H19 has a headsize which still is quite popular - this issue regards the non-release policy of the 93 used by Dimitrov.
However there are some arguments against releasing it, such as creating a competitor model to their PS97 & Blade models.
Also Dimitrov proved that sometimes when you want to release a pro mold the player can really mess up. Wilson released 2 of his molds and still he ended up with a different one.

Everybody needs to chill and wait for the outcome.

* - you're not proving anything, for the time being it's a word vs word debate;
