im going on holiday soon and may buy another racket....will the racket/strings be affected by being in the suitcase and flying on the plane ??

I heard that the tension will go whack if they are out on the tarmack very long. But what can you do? I was flying last week to and from Florida and a lot of people brought racquets as carry-on baggage.
what does being on the tarmack have to do with anything....
run a search...there are several threads answering this same question.
the general consensus seems to be that unless there is excessive pressure on the frame or string by other baggage, the frame/strings aren't affected

don't think so , why would they but if you're sceptic about it take it aboard with you ..
perhaps the air pressure from being so high up? but i dont think that's a factor
when if its winter time....

i've read somewhere that if you're going to be taking rackets with you, its best to take them unstrung if they're NOT going to be carry-on, and then get them strung once you arrive wherever you're supposed to be.

i dont think it would be a factor, mainly because yes you're high up, but you're in the plane, so judging that your rackets are inside the plane (
) they would be fine, because the air pressure doest affect you when you're inside the plane, so why would it affect the rackets.at least i think so...

im going to buy a new racket in hong kong most likely the rds 001...i will buy it unstrung and will probably get it strung there aswell because the prices in the uk are pretty high.

If you have to check your frame they will be in the hold, which isn't pressurized to to the same level as the cabin and the temperature can drop quite low. I notice the difference when flying from Philadelphia PA to Boston Mass & had to restring my frames. My doubles partner's frames felt fine to her, it is that subjective feel thing once more.
