A question for smokers.....

So I only smoke a few cigarettes a month if that even, but just wondering for those that do regularly..... why do so many people not smoke menthols? The smell/taste is soooo much better I just don't get it? o_O lol

Do people still smoke?

Cigarettes - the only product guaranteed to kill you when taken correctly.

Don't smoke.

Just checking. ;)

Yeah, but that ties into exactly what I'm saying, I can't stand the smell either, so bc I don't smoke enough to know why/taste difference between brands etc, I just don't get why people would rather have the stinky ones than the non stinky ones :p

You smoke you get mutations and too many mutations you get cancer and die

20,000 mutations on the p53 gene if I remember reading in a book

I wondered that myself too because the health risks aren't any higher compared to normal cigarettes. Back in the day when I was a smoker I had those almost regularly.

Im an occasional smoker , if that even , i do like one pack a month.
I really like menthols tbh , thing is , i prefer lower tar/nicotine levels and menthols are always somewhere in the middle.

I'm an ex 2-1/2 pack a day smoker who quit with Chantix. Unlike most who have quit, I haven't become a cigarette hater and in fact, when walking on the street and someone is smoking, I actually love to get a good whiff. I'd LOVE to be able to smoke only a few a month. Anyway as to your question, I can't answer it because I felt the exact same. Kools ruled for me and non-menthols, hmmmm, no. However, if desperate I would smoke them. Now, I'm just past 10 years as a nonsmoker.

All that said, don't smoke at all.

Well, i don't smoke, usually just in party's/club with my friends (i'm 21) but i used to smoke kinda frecuently and, the answer to the menthol cigarettes its the same to why some of us drink the whiskey just straight with ice, or the coffe black, you know some like the original flavor

I smoke menthols and believe me they still stink my rooms out. I'm constantly having to open my windows to let some of the smoke out which leads to my furniture getting dusty very quickly which means I have to wipe over it pretty much every day. And you'd be amazed at the amount of air freshener I get through on a monthly basis.

So Mike just tortured you for no reason? lol

I don't smoke myself and never have, but I'm no militant by any means.

A cute girl/woman who smokes?

No problem.

I smoke. When I'm out I smoke quite heavily (my record is 75 cigarettes in one day). I started at 18 with menthols due to me as a chef not being able to get any breaks if I didn't smoke. But when I don't work I can easily do two halfsies and that'll last me a whole day.

Editing in because I'm drunk. I still like menthols but it's only occasional from the point I started smoking reds. Another thing to add is that I was second best in the beep test in high school only to be beaten by someone who played soccer at a proffessional level.

Probably couldn't do that now though...

Yeah, no dude.. I work on clinical trials and the vast majority of the patients that come in with Adenocarcinoma or NSCLC were heavy smokers in their lives...

There isn't even a debate on this at all.

And honestly, I wouldn't take advice from a guy who didn't know that Puerto Rico was a U.S. Territory...

I'm pretty sure smoking is good for you. Not to mention cool as hell.

It was a day when things went wrong mentally. I used to have patches like that a few years ago where I would just stand and down an entire pack in one go which in hindsight probably isn't the healthiest thing I've ever done...

Fun fact (FUN!? WHAT ARE YOU ON ABOUT?) though, when I did go through 75 sticks of death they actually were menthols!

I once dated a Swedish girl who worked as a model in Paris. She would smoke exactly nineteen cigarettes a day, leaving one in the pack, because she didn't want to smoke a full pack. I didn't like this habit, and asked her if she wanted to stop. She said they helped to keep her thin, and she needed to stay thin.

Modeling is a cut-throat industry. Eating disorders like bulimia are rampant. But I admire the dedication that goes into maintaining that aesthetic. Not realistic for 99 percent of the population. But it inspires people like myself who've dealt with weight issues their whole life and who want desperately to be thin.

We are talking about ciggies, yes? [My affinity towards Scandinavians...] When I was 20 in my uni years in Baltimore, I had a Norwegian cartoonist girlfriend [5 years older] who's ''a botte of alcohol is ugly in the hand of a woman''...but don't get me wrong, I was young, free and single [still is, well, with a steady Swedish girlfriend currently] so I expect immediate gaiety and ease of socialization for my youthful gain [let's be blunt here now]. One December Friday afternoon, in the pub we frequented, she began to drink fast and socialize freely and in order for me keep up and not get drunk too soon [saving it for later, promiscuity and all--I should be ashamed of myself and I'm not...hey, let me be naive and young, lol.], I ended smoking 2 packs of Red ''Marble Rows'' in 2 hours [to keep my hand busy lifting them lightweight ciggies instead of bottles; that was a record for me and the only time I let myself.]. Anyhow, in a manner of speaking, what happened in Julebord stays in Julebord!;)

I know it's a cliche, but there's nothing better looking than a beautiful young woman that smokes cigarettes with that careless conviction. For some reason, I find women with dark hair the most elegant smokers.

I used to smoke 20 Luckies a day, but quit when I became a dad. I plan to start again when I am old, if they are still legal.
