Yes, you can sand the foam down. But you must go slowly and carefully otw the handle will end up asymmetric. It's not something to be done in 1 or 5 minutes. Do a search as there are posters that have done this. The ones that had poor results were not methodical about how much and how fast to take off on each bevel. You probably want to use a block planer or a sanding block and it does not take much to go from 5/8 to 3/8. You may also need to re-balance the frame.

As long as the wilson handle doesn't have a version Amplifeel or Airshell (I don't think any 6.0 did) I think you will find the shaft under the foam to be the same size as another racquet of the same model but different grip size. Said another way with a given model Wilson modulates grip size by foam. You'll likely have weights in the foam that you could possibly hit depending on how far down you go but otherwise I would expect the handle to be composed very similar to this one that was dissected: Pro_Tour_630, Feb 19, 2009

Correct. It's why the measured stiffness of a frame will differ between a grip 1 and a grip 5. Because the foam stiffness is also measured as part of the frame pull on an RDC.

The foam on the handle will not absorb moisture because of the barrier it has when it was molded. Sand the foam down and you break that barrier. When you sweat moisture can go through the grip and be absorbed by the foam and cause the foam to rot. If you have a racket where you can take the foam pallet off and replace it you'll be much better off. I believe @Geoff provides that service if you want to contact him.

Yes. It will change the RDC measured stiffness but not how stiff the frame plays. It's a good example of how measured RA is not a very accurate way of determining how stiff a frame feels during play.

I’d be curious to know how much a replacement grip could shift it. The RF vs the PS 97 for instance have a different stiffness and the RF has leather as well.
