Coric has been flying under the radar and my research indicates he might have a breakout year on clay. Surprised he's been dominating at IW, but maybe the slow courts suit his game. Coric in 3 and lookout if he does it as he's just building momentum for clay. RBA a much better hard court player, so this would be a big step for Borna Again.MATCH OF THE YEAR!!!

Calling RBA a clay courter is a false label...he has only one of his 8 career titles on clay, his lone MS1000 final was on the fastest HC surface (Shanghai), he just won Dubai (medium fast HC) and his best slam results are 4R across the board. Better to label him Joe Kovic Lite.
This week and Miami are key for him to get seeding at RG...currently #47 and roughly 300 points out before some are pared away due to injury. He defends 3R in Miami, a 250 title in Marrakech and QFs at Madrid.
We'll have to agree to disagree then. With the new Old School arrangement, an upset of a top 4 seed in 1R could be followed up in 2R with a 17-32 opppnent, which is a harder landing than the current format. Then in 3R it's another possibly tougher test than a random 29-32 player.

Not expecting him to win RG but perhaps a SF at a clay court masters could happen.
Coric has got a winnable match against Fritz and could play Kevin Anderson or Pablo Carreno Busta after that. Coric will hope to Busta because he has not won a set against Anderson in three meetings.
Coric is a different player, so if he's convincing with Fritz then Anderson may be ripe for the picking on the slow IW courts.
