The most comfortable racket you've played with?

I like my Donnay, it's the x-dual silver 99. You know how a lot of rackets you can perceive a bit of a "ting!" sound, due to them being hollow and stiff? This one is designed to be like the exact opposite. From what I've heard, it has foam on the inside, and it's very thin and less stiff. This seems to make it very comfortable for many people's elbow, mine included. However, to counteract the lack of stiffness, I tend to string my strings very tight, though I don't use polyester.

Prince Exo3 Tour 16x18.

Seriously, Angells are good but not even close to being the most comfortable racquets.
4-5 yrs ago this racquet changed everything as far as comfort goes. Of course, sayonara, goodbye, and goodnight!

Iirc, mine is black/blue/purple splatter
Ty, have the heavy, 12 oz, firm as concrete, maroon, asymmetric with 20 yr old strings, tight as a wedding dress,

An extended (by myself) Prince Ozone Tour. Close to 28". There's a reason the pros prefer it like that, and that's how they should sell it. I've had shoulder pain with the stock 27" Ozone (probably my fault, anyway), but never with the extended. I think I missed a bit of SW. At 27,25" it also felt great.

Now I'm playing with the PCG100LB, but it's not as comfortable.

Prince EXO3 Graphite 93 would be the most comfortable frame I have used. A close second was the Prince Exo3 Rebel.

Agree on the Tours. Also agree on the Angell, nice racquets, but less comfortable than many racquets out now.
Curious, at what string and tension? Have a pr and never felt comfy. Preferred the NXG mids

Generally liked poly/SynGut hybrids at 48/53. Low powered poly with Kirschbaum SynGut.

Turns out the black/blue/purple splatter is my old black ace 95.

The asymmetric is actually dark blue and bronze colored with some red accents.

I have to agree with one caveat. I have several of these rackets (backups). Dunlop came out with several different versions of the racket.
Some are quite different from the original (lighter, loss of control etc.). Be careful if you are looking for one of these.
My first one was a 1984 model... current one is a 1995 mac sig version... play the same but yeah 400g etc all different

Any of the Prince EXO 3 or Tour models. Sublime comfort that helped me get back into competitive tennis after 2 years out with TE. Low on power but high on elbow comfort due to low RA, thin beams, HL balance and substantial mass. But the one significant construction detail that makes them so soft imo are the Thermo plastic port inserts. The inserts are the x-factor that made these frames the legendary arm savers they became.

Another racket that hasn't been mentioned was the Yonex RQ 500. It had a triangular cross section in its hoop that actually "flexed" inward on ball impact. That gave it a very soft feel.

Your vast knowledge and experience with obscure classic racquets never ceases to amaze me. :)

I haven't had a lot of experience trying different rackets and have already mentioned the most comfortable racket I've played with.
I'd like to mention one more (there's a reason).
It's the Wilson Triad 5.0 (original). The racket is around 10 years old.

Would I recommend it to anyone? Not really.
Why? Because in making the racket so comfortable Wilson forgot about another important ingredient; feel.
The design of the racket is such that it is super comfortable to play with (Triad design), at the expense of feel. :(

Which leads me to the reason for mentioning the racket.
I have seen a few posts here where users talk about customizing their rackets.
Has anyone tried customizing this racket in an effort to get some more feel from it?

Any opinions on this?

hello :) i am copy paste a reply i did from different thread. as i tried the Prince phantom pro 100 tonight.
did it not work out for me because i used the "pro 100" is their much difference with the non pro version?

i just demo'd a Prince phantom pro 100 and the serve is a bit iffy.. at least i don't feel confident with it but my opponents kept making errors against my serve.. so not sure what was causing them problems.

the forehand/backhand was very solid.. i felt in control and kept hitting deep. hitting so hard at the ball and it goes in the court.. they expect another solid hit then i trick them and dropshot it in.. dropshots work well with this racket.

by the end of the night.. i am sadly currently dealing with a bit of back pain.. i think it was the serves causing it or maybe i am just used to a more forgiving racket instead of completely doing all the power work.

I've got the 93P and the ported 100 Phantoms. I found the Phantom 100 took some effort to dial in the serve. That makes sense since it was very different from the lighter sticks I had previously been using. Timing can be an issue with radical departures from what you are used to.

The Phantom 100 is more comfortable than the 93P but only marginally. Both are very arm friendly. They may not be core friendly since they require a fuller swing with good unit turns to get the most out of them.
