Uniqlo doesn't have much options for tennis clothing AFAIK. The last time I went to the their flagship store in Tokyo, their tennis section was so small at the end section between two isles.
Their reported sponsorship of Fed probably more for promoting their brand in general rather than for tennis clothing line.

You should’ve seen what he would’ve worn had he not skipped the clay.
Classic red polo, white shorts for the clay.
Classic blue polo for the French Open.
Looked better than Rafa’s kit and his looked fantastic too.

I thought Rafa looked terrible, guess we have different tastes. The whole blue shoe/blue sock thing they do just looks weird to me.

I get your point, and the USO17 outfit was pretty bad, especially the red.. but the black, a bit better.
I really like Fed's AO17 outfit tho,.. maybe it's bc #18, maybe it's bc I'm a comic book fan, maybe bc I'm a Jim Lee fan (amazing line work, see pic), or maybe all of the above.

I actually love Fed's AO kit, but i'm 98% sure it's just from nostalgia of the tournament. I agree with your first post but I also liked his AO/IW-Miami kits partly because they're now "iconic" from winning those tournaments but then again I still would have thought his USO kits would have been ugly even if he had won the title.

It's about promoting their brand outside Asia. Also have read that Uniglo is looking forward to Fed at the Tokyo Olympics in 2020. And when Fed retires in a couple years, his face will be all over every newspaper and website in the world and guess what? He'll be wearing Uniglo. It's all about advancing their brand in the western world. 99% of Americans have never even heard of Uniglo. I never had till Noval signed with them.

It's a matter of personal preference, of course, but with what Nike's been coming out for tennis players recently, Uniqlo's simplicity doesn't seem that bad to me.

This is just plain funny. UniQlo knew his feet would be photographed because
of the shoes and the swoosh so they insisted upon placing their logo right near
it on the socks....AND....it's probably not a coincidence that the swoosh is of
a light color that doesn't stand out much.
Careers are made and broken over nonsense like this.
