My guess is that unless you store your racquet in very humid conditions there won't be any moisture finding it's way into the frame but I wanted to ask all you gurus.
Someone has to fill TTPS’ shoes since he’s no longer on the board.Dude, you've started like 20 useless threads in the past week. Chill out.

moisture can and will find its way to the inside of the frame, whether it's from your sweat seeping through the grips or through the gaps in the trap door/grommet holes. if you don't air out your racket, the graphite will eventually absorb the moisture and break down at a microscopic level. this phenomenon is often referred to as your racket "becoming a wet noodle." The racket will be structurally sound but it'll become more flexible. I stopped playing about 2 years ago and forgot to leave the buttcap open on my APDs. i recently got back into tennis and my APDs are now at about 62 RA. lesson learned. always leave your buttcap open.

I prefer to use duct tape. If the Mythbusters can make a boat out of duct tape, I think it can protect your racquet from moisture.I recommend rubbing Vaseline all over your grip to prevent moisture from leaking in
This can actually be solved. The trick is to submerge the racquet in actual water- the actual water dissolves the air water and then you can just wash it off. When it dries it's as good as new. To stop it happening again you can do a cellophane wrap but this may add weightmoisture can and will find its way to the inside of the frame, whether it's from your sweat seeping through the grips or through the gaps in the trap door/grommet holes. if you don't air out your racket, the graphite will eventually absorb the moisture and break down at a microscopic level. this phenomenon is often referred to as your racket "becoming a wet noodle." What if your match was being played in Atlantis?Wouldn't the answer to this question be different depending on the relative humidity level where you play your match???
If I play a match in Singapore wouldn't that be different than Qatar?
My racquet came with a wet suit. What if your match was being played in Atlantis?
Uh...those were diving fins not racquets that came with your wetsuit. My racquet came with a wet suit.
I meant a wet suit for the racquet, not me! lol the neoprene over the stringed gives it a little extra pop...unless you accidentally hit the zipper!Uh...those were diving fins not racquets that came with your wetsuit.
Doesn't stringing lower your ra a few points the first few times?moisture can and will find its way to the inside of the frame, whether it's from your sweat seeping through the grips or through the gaps in the trap door/grommet holes. if you don't air out your racket, the graphite will eventually absorb the moisture and break down at a microscopic level. this phenomenon is often referred to as your racket "becoming a wet noodle." The other option is, in addition to grommets, to drill further holes around the racket head and down through the handle and grip. That ensures on going ventilation. I believe that's a standard feature of all prostock rackets.

That just makes them soggy.Absolutely!!! And to make sure they are really dry, you must also put them in your microwave oven for 5 minutes.
Microwave ovens are too small so I place it in my gas bbq grill.Absolutely!!! And to make sure they are really dry, you must also put them in your microwave oven for 5 minutes.

Just gonna drop this here, and make you and others look like astronomically large turd burglars.
- from carbon fiber degradation paper in materials science journal -
“The deteriorating effects of moisture on a polymeric matrix are not as severe as degradation by UV radiation. Moisture diffusion into the epoxy matrix leads to changes in thermophysical, mechanical, and chemical characteristics [11–13]. The epoxy can undergo plasticization and hydrolysis, which cause reversible and irreversible changes in the polymer structure. Due to these processes both the modulus and glass transition temperature are lowered [12–17]. Furthermore, matrix-dominated properties such as compressive strength, interlaminar shear strength, fatigue and impact tolerance can also deteriorate [12,15,16,18,19]. Plasticization is usually reversible upon desorption of moisture, while hydrolysis of chemical bonds results in permanent irreversible damage. At the same time, moisture wicking along the fiber–matrix interface can degrade the fiber– matrix bond, resulting in loss of microstructural integrity. Unlike glass and aramid fiber, carbon fibers themselves do not absorb moisture and their physical properties remain unaffected. However, as stated earlier, the deterioration of the matrix alone is sufficient to cause a decrease in performance and overall reliability. “
so what part of my response was wrong?
None, but you're engaging a world class idiot. So stop it.
are you not impressed that he actually spent time reading research papers for his question?
It seems every idiot in the thread tbought you were being sarcastic and that moisture wasnt an issue.so what part of my response was wrong?
