The umpires measured different. Cibulkova got her second warning at 1:1 in the third against Kerber - an NO point penalty, umpire forgot it !!!.

I'm pretty sure more people paid attention to tennis in the last hour and a half than have done so in years, if Twitter is any indication.

Don't forget it is the Serena Show-all about Serena, not anybody else.
The fact that you don't see what's wrong with the umpiring in this match is astounding.

The first call was questionable.

The second one I agree with

But the third one was downright BS from Ramos.

I personally hate american cops, so its hard to side with a referee who is such a typical pig that he pulls his authority card and takes a game away from serena.

Typical thing to go down in america with all these law abiding pussies who think cops are cool.

That being said i cant stand the people who think serena williams deserves more attention than the top men.

he said "I am an honest person and I was coaching" on the TV broadcast. Did you miss when they interviewed him? He 100% admitted to coaching. Serena also 100% broke her racket and 100% berate umpire and call umpire a "thief". All 3 violations were valid and Serena was only angry because Naomi was handing her butt to her.
I was catching up. Been referring my daughters soccer matches all day.

You have to ask yourself why does controversy only happen to Serena at the US Open when she doesn't have any at all the other slams combined.

The Game penalty was pure BS.

I can understand the point penalty to a degree but calling an Umpire a thief doesn't warrant a game penalty.

What does? If he called her a ***** she would be calling for him to be banned for life.

Not really interested in discussing the specifics of this particular match, but in general, do you guys think that the officials at the US Open "over officiate" Serena Williams matches, as compared to the other slams? Or do you think the controversies that she's had there are just coincidental to the situation? Or do they over-officiate in general? It just seems like whenever there is a questionable call, or questionable penalty, or overreaction from Williams, or controversy in general it always happens at the US Open. What do you guys think? Is the officiating consistent or different?

And Serena said "I am not a cheater" referring to coaching.

You don't get a game penalty though even if you continue talking to Serena.

Serena should have relaxed clearly but saying the umpire stole a point from her is absolutely not a warranty for a game penalty. It soured the whole match.

Calling an umpire a thief and demanding an apology over and over again is verbal abuse. Did it warrant a warning? I think so. Unfortunately as soon as you say it warrants a warning it’s a game penalty for a third warning.

Players have to know they can’t keep racking up warnings. You shut up when you are walking on thin ice. You don’t break your racquet when you have a code violation already.

Stupid all around performance.

I feel so bad for Naomi. She did so well and the moment was just completely ruined for her. She apologized to the crowd for winning, that's just not right. She gained a fan in me tonight, she held up very well in a terrible situation she didn't contribute anything to.

Umpire did not do anything wrong.
It does not matter it’s first time for coaching violation or not.
It does not matter Serena was not watching.
Serena should let it go and play her game instead of keep complaining.
Serena had a chance to keep playing the match but she was one who blew the match.

Anyway, Naomi played well. She lost her weight and moved better. That shows she was dedicated to tennis.

It’s consistent. Every player that has broken a frame has received a warning. And this follows the point penalty for subsequent violations.
The ONLY thing that is inconsistent has been the serving between points.
What happened to SW was right for the official. It’s not her right to demand an apology for something clearly happened. She should be ashamed.

Another classless showing by the 37 year old going on 12 who is also a narcissist and bully. Sad the commentators have the audacity to support her, like the sport would collapse or something without her. "She showed leadership." What the hell have you been smoking Pam Shriver? She showed incredible immaturity and no class.

She got her ass kicked 2-6 in a little over a half hour in the first set. Losing a point, after losing her frigging mind, did not cost her the match. Her lack of self-control and being thoroughly outplayed is why she LOST. Nothing was stolen from her. She is a disgrace. What she and the scum of the USTA did to that poor girl is shameful. The entitled, demanding, victim attitude is typical of Serena. And, shame on Everett for having her nose up Serena's rear end and playing the "sexist" card.

Rightfully. But I don't know what analogy you are trying make. Cibulkova in her match against kerber got 2 violations and didn't receive a point penalty. Yet Serena says the umpire stole a point penalty from her and she gets a game penalty? Are you kidding me?
