Osaka Vs Serena ~ 2018 US Open

Osaka exactly incorporates Federer's style of watching the ball.
  • Check out the above.
Serena exactly incorporates this:
  • a CLEAR VIOLATION AGAINST COACHING aka CHEATING (not to mention smashing her racquet).
  • Serena had ample opporunity to CEASE, DESIST, STOP at this point, and let it go.
  • Also not to mention a few years ago threatening to kill the foot fault lineswoman.
  • And what happened to Serena's innocent l'il MJ baby voice? Serena sounds like a screamer, especially while calling the umpire a thief, comparing HERSELF to men's tennis, and around 1/2 dozen times yelling "*I've* NEVER BEEN TREATED FAIRLY". lol
  • AND... her coach blames EVERYONE ELSE!? Assume some RESPONSIBILITY for your actions & Serena's pathetic behavior.
Serena is completely fake and similar to Trump in that SO MANY essentially always turns a blind eye.

This is ALL embarrassing, pathetic, and disparaging to TENNIS.

Serena put the ENTIRE WORLD in this position. It's time for her entire entourage to retire.

Dunno, not sure I agree. As far as I can tell, the first code violation was nonsense, and the third one was obviously nonsense, I've heard players say worse every other match and get nothing. Umpire let himself get pulled into a power trip.

Osaka was playing great and IMO would have won anyway, but IMO the umpire came out of this looking pretty bad.

Her coach admitted the violation. And, NY fans were so ****ing rude. Shame on them!

Her coach had the best line of the tournament. You’re very delicate by the way. Almost as delicate as Serena. :p

Ramos The Thief. The Poor guy will be stuck with that moniker if I have anything to say about it. :)

Gameswomanship .. strutting over the the umpire at a key moment when Osaka is in a serving rhythm at 40 - 15 .. Bleh ..

Whatchu talkin' about ~ did you watch the playback? 1) Mouratoglou TWICE CLEARLY GESTURED for Serena to come to the net, which she did, and won several points after doing so, and 2) he admitted to coaching but the excuses were "Serena did not see", and "Nadal does it all the time". Serena LIED about seeing a "thumb's up" ~ that was clearly NOT a NORMAL "thumb's up".

Pat Mo admitted to coaching. Serena smashed her racket. And, then she argued with umpire and call him thief. All 3 violations were legit. By the way, Naomi out played her from beginning to end too.

Yep, Pat Mo said I was coaching. He said I don't think she saw me but she obviously did because she said he was giving me "thumbs up" which was part of the signal.

I was giving Serena the benefit of the doubt about coaching, since it was not clear at the moment, but then Mouratoglou himself didn't deny it, instead saying something about everyone's is coaching ..., let's not be a hypocrite (citing other coaching examples), etc. Hmm.

Kudos to Sascha and team for their work.

On a side note, what do you do if you happen to look at your box and your coach make unsolicited sign that may appear like coaching. The emphasis on "unsolicited" and "may" (because the sign may or may not be coaching).

Congrats to Osaka!

It wasn't arguing that got her the code violation it was personally calling him a thief.

it was both in my opinion. She was berating the umpire, raising her voice, telling him "you owe me an apology", "don't talk to me" and finally called him a thief but it she berated him for about 30 seconds and I think "thief" pushed it over the edge.

All 3 calls were legitimate. Serena was angry because she was getting her butt kicked.

The crazy thing was that Serena was accusing Carlos Ramos and the USOpen with sexism because she said men do much worse and nothing happens to them.

Definitely a strange match. Total deja vu, i.e. Clijsters, Stosur.

LMFAO!
Surprised she didn't start screaming about how she was royalty, or flinging her own poop.

Looking forward to watching the mental gymnastics of the MSM and SJW squealers in blurring this veruca salt meltdown, a sighting of the real serena, away.

Everything was legit. He WAS coaching. Serena WAS watching him. Warning.
She DID break her racket after the double fault. Point penalty.
She DID go way, WAY overboard attacking the umpire. Not just calling him a thief, but her entire prolonged display of screaming rage, was way out of line. Game penalty. I mean, WTF is wrong with her? For a minute I thought she was going to hit him with her racket or something.

Yeah, this was so sad for Naomi. The highest moment of her life - she may win 20 more slams in her career, but the first is always special, of course, and it was ruined.

Serena should calm down, she can't win everything. When she's on the backfoot during a match she howls and stumps around the court to force her opponent into submission. That was an ugly scene at the USO final; so undignified.

No, the point penalty was well and truly deserved. The game penalty could have been preceded by a stern warning but she is an adult who knows the rules (I presume she does)

Though maybe only slightly. Naomi is pretty narrow focused so she only saw the positives. Its other people who are celebrating SW antics. Naomi real fans are celebrating her win.

Ok Naomi and Serena deserved a game... the umpire should had just let them play on...
you don’t give out a red card in the box the last 10 mins of the World Cup...
this is the finals and they should have thugged it out... Serena would have lost and Naomi would gotten a proper ceremony...

NYC US Open is savage.... The shade is strong... freaking Caesar in Rome

I don't think men get away with anything. Had Serena not exploded over the coaching warning she may have got away with the racquet smashing.

Fognini was expelled from the USO last year for shouting profanities at a female umpire.
The Grand Slam Board announced on Saturday that Fognini was “provisionally suspended from further participation in the US Open pending a final determination”, but that takes him out of the doubles tournament, where he and his compatriot Simon Bolelli had advanced to the third round.

This morning Gillian Joseph (Sky News) said Nastase and McEnroe never got punished for bad behaviour so I tweeted her to point out that in 1990, McEnroe was defaulted from a match in Australia after breaking a racquet and insulting the supervisor.

It's reasonable to say men get away with more. So let's say men don't get away with everything (like it's portrayed in the Serena incident). I for one completely forgot about Fabio last year.
