I am only interested in talking about Serena. Men’s singles finals can well be suspended.Who’s ready to talk about actual tennis again?
And Del Potro.Federer
Man on a mission.Hopefullly Ramos will be back in the chair to ensure more coaching violations are caught.
Who’s ready to talk about actual tennis again?
I hope whomever umpires the match keeps in mind that Novak is a father of two.
Who you got. I'm thinking Novak in 4?
Yep, same. It's a boring pick but what I feel will happen. In-form Novak is a very tough match-up for Delpo (and other flat hitting players) on HC but out of respect for Delpo's grit you gotta give him a set.
Unless Novak loses it mentally (which is a remote possibility with him always) or Delpo's zoning out of his mind and hitting 30+ FH winners I don't see him beating Nole.
And there is only one daughter in play anyway.I am only interested in talking about Serena. Men’s singles finals can well be suspended.
that's my fear and main reservation. Raucous crowd and with roof closed, noise will be amplified.
Not that Delpo can't win on his own merits, but if Djokovic is at at least a decent level for him, Delpo would really have to play the match of his life to win I think barring a mental collapse from Novak. As you said, there is a bit of a matchup issue and the slower courts indoors really suit ND.
Not totally confident after seeing Novak in some US Open finals, and also how we was pushed around by Wawrinka. But Delpo is different from Wawrinka, especially on a slower court, he's not quite as effective as SW despite having the big serve and huge forehand.
Delpo hits a very different ball from Stan who basically pushes Novak behind baseline with spin and then goes for winners, it's a big reason why Novak seems so passive against him at times. Most of the guys who troubled Novak at USO (his most consistent slam even if he has "only" two titles) hit a heavier ball than Delpo, he's more of a flat hitter like Cilic and Berdman. An in-form Novak counterpunches those type of players to death, especially on HC.

In 2.5 sets.Delpo in 2.
Umpires don’t give code violations to menHopefullly Ramos will be back in the chair to ensure more coaching violations are caught.
If actual tennis is about goat, slams and stats, this thread doesn't have much hope.
For a fed fan you are in my good books purely for the decent sense of humour.
