Can you beat this girl?

The real question is: What level male players can this girl beat 80-90% of the time? In other words what is this girl's male NTRP level?!
Posts addressing how pretty, hot etc she is will be reported!:p

Just another female western-grip forehand two-handed backhand player. Nothing special. Her form is awful, of course. She doesn't have a clue what to do with a short ball.

Ha ha.... lol. She is not an wta pro now but you and your 4.0 buddies can only watch her balls fly past you. You would miss at the 3rd ball because you wouldn't reach it.
Yeah from the point play video, I think I would be able to challenge her and I'm not even 4.5. I think 4.0 men could hang with her.

I play S&V, chip and charge, drop shot and lob. You know, tennis!

I have no idea what she is doing.

Thinking she would win about 60-70% of the time against most 4.5s but would lose to 5s.

I'm a 2.5 national champion. Don't mess with me. My team won nationals. I played 3rd doubles. Ad side. We won 6-5 6-5. The other team did not know you need to win by 2 games.

If you can't do something, don't make others think they can't just cause you can't.

I sent a message to Brent Abel on youtube saying that there is some discussion on talk tennis forums about senior good players vs 4.5 younger players and asked what he thought about it and he replied ' ratings don't matter, you gotta go out and play the match'!:)

That is true... Here is a 60s national Champion. Brent says this tall guy is easily a 5.0 and will beat most any younger 4.5.

What most 4.0 rec players underestimate is the consistency on the backhand side that these juniors have...and that's assuming you can even match their levels of fitness and movement. Most 4.0 rec players are not strong on the backhand side. With apologies to our Polish friend, playing these youngsters is like playing someone with 2 forehands. Maybe the forehand itself might not be enough to blow you away but the consistent pace and depth from both sides will produce a poor rally ball pretty soon, and point over. If you're a young, fit, athletic, 4.0, this girl might not blow you away with sheer pace or power, but her consistent pace and depth will choke the life out of you point by point, game by game. 6-2, 6-2 would a pretty decent score if you can manage that.

I think people underestimate how good female tournament players are. Of course a really good man beats her and those flat strokes look limited but those flat strokes are quite fast, deep and consistent. A player who has played tour (itf or juniors) is going to beat most rec tournament players simply based on the hours they spent on court and the match experience they have.

In theory a 4.5 could hang with her but most 4.5s only play like twice a week for an hour or so that is not enough to beat a former tour player.

Now there are elite 4.5s who beat her but those are former good players (say former d1 players) who really have no business playing 4.5 and play there to win titles rather than being middle of the pack in 5.0.

It's really hard to say from a video. But I like my chances if I play to break her rhythm. Staying at the baseline would be a nightmare, but if I mixed in a lot of dropshots, serve and volley and rip and charge I imagine her consistency would drop quite a bit.

You're close to a legit 5.0 yourself. You'd beat her.

She'd thrash me, but that's not saying much.
Would probably thrash most of ttw, except for the few monsters here lurking in the shadows like aussie pro and others.

I watched some of the juniors at an itf event, and was blown away by how good they were. Very fluid and super consistent shots, awesome movement. Theyd crush me lol

No chance in hell a 4.0 would hang with her. Most the 4.0's around here (TX) are UTR 5-8 and she would destroy players at that level and 4.5 as well. Maybe the guy that plays line 1 on the team that wins nationals in 4.5 could hang.

I'm sure you have some 10s playing 4.5 around there.

First of all, the young lady is an excellent player and I would love to have her as a mixed partner. But, I think this is fair.

1. The lady would be ranked at USTA 5.0. There are loads of ex-college, ex-pros and teaching pro females playing ladies USTA 5.0.
2. There is at least a .5 differential between male and female USTA rankings. A male 4.5 will be competitive with a female 5.0. A male 4.0 will be competitive with a female 4.5. I play with many 4.5 and 5.0 females that make sectionals and are very good. I am old guy who would fit in at USTA 4.0 and I am competitive with the 5.0 females. I think the better 4.5 USTA male players could be competitive with her.

I know a pro at a big club in florida who runs a weekly 4.5 mens' clinic. He brings in a few ex-D1 girls to bang with them. This is florida, so these girls have played on major D 1 programs. I asked him who was stronger, and he said he had wondered that too when he started it. As it turned out, the girls totally destroyed the guys. Not even close. Now these were not computer 4.5s, they were self-rated and no doubt, some were 4.0 or worse. But a couple had played college tennis. Anyway. do not mess with these girls.

No idea from just watching her rally. I mean, she's got great strokes but you know tennis is not just about being able to hit the ball.

Theres a very VERY good girl at my club, very similar to her I must say, although hits a heavier ball. I played against her at a club internal ranking tournament and beat her quite easily 6-4 6-0. All I needed to do was open up the court and not let her hit comfortably (the couple of times she had a comfortable ball she got a couple of winners).

So at least I cant tell you, it doesnt seem she's even hitting with everything she's got, just drilling.

She looks good though! ;)

Might be able to get a couple games if she doesn't know how to deal with a heavy slice. If she knows how to do that, no chance. I'd get bageled. I could definitely hang with her in doubles though.

I don't know your level but if you are around 4.0-4.5 I'm pretty sure she does everything much better than you. I laugh at the assumption that oh she has great looking strokes but you know tennis is not just about that and blah and blah blah, she might have everything but maybe not the awesome x factor/the IQ that I have, i will do this and that and (as if she has no skills to do something about that lol) she won't know what to do and I will beat her. If you are not a legit 5.0 and above you guys are dreaming and probably due to your expanded yet fragile male egos.

Exactly like I said: I DONT KNOW from the footage you posted. Hitting around cant tell HOW you actually play a match. Maybe post a match video?

I've LOST to girls, hell, I've lost to 13 Y.O. GIRLS, ego is more than busted already. Yours was a clickbait post, the vid, like I said doesnt show much. You cant tell HOW WELL she actually plays just by watching those 10 mins of her hitting around. Get serious and post a match or points video, THEN I'll dare to say how I would match against her.

Drop-shot, lob, drop-shot, lob, slice, moon-ball, volley, etc. She'd be toast!

I’ve seen some of the top 4.0 players in the country up close in District playoff match play and they would decimate this girl.

Don’t underestimate the power of the 4.0 Internet champion level player.

Forehand slice? I thought I was the last living player to use that shot!
I personally like to junkball off the forehand as well. The spin it has is brutal for some players.

Hsieh Su-Wei uses a lot of forehand slice as well, except she uses two hands off both sides.
