Totally share the same sentiments with the OP. Year just passed by so quickly. Time accelerates with each new year. When you're 5 years old, one year is 1/5th of your life, very long, but when you're 65, it's 1/65th of your life, so, so short. I'm a year younger then Fed, but still... UO was a climax to a year of great tournaments and maybe some unexpected results i.e. Novak's return. Perhaps the last time we see all the Big 3 together at the ATP rankings list. Brings back real nostalgia for one more last time. :( Hopefully there will be some great matches left but with Nadal injured it will not be the same. Maybe Fed could make it interesting if he plays well during indoor season or some other rising star. Novak is here to stay it seems to me ready to annihilate the competition without much mercy. In my part of the world, autumn is coming and it is sad part of the year. Winter is even more dreadful. Luckily, AO comes in middle of it to give us some hope and warm us in this grey, grey, world. Take care tennis fans :)

Does anyone else feel down at this time of the tennis season?

I can’t really get excited for anything left on the tennis schedule, including the WTF.

I wish it were January already so we could play the AO!

I am OK, because I have now turned my attention to this coming weekend and the Mr Olympia in Las Vegas. So, I don't really have time to be down on anything. :)

What, are you kidding me?

We have Davis Cup and Laver Cup coming up. I've been told those are important.

Yeah, the USO was a bust on the men's side with crap matches after the Nadal Thiem one that should have been what the quality fo the final was, but it wasn't even close. The AMAZING Naomi is buried Williams mental migdget meltdown, and the two women's double teams who MADE the USO got shafted but not as much as the Mixed of Bmatss and Murray only getting $70k to split for winning.

Fed is questionsable.
Nadal is questionable.
Djo is still crap and reaping some weak competition to pad stats.
And most other players are stepping up, but just showing up and cashing in hard without effort.

I quit.

Nothing's ever quite like a Slam but I'm particularly looking forward to Shanghai and Beijing and the WTF but I like anywhere where I can get to see some exciting tennis.

It used to be an ombeeleebabel part of the season before they ruined indoor tennis and basically retired carpet.
I used to look forward to the stretch that went from Vienna to Hannover more than the American hardcourt season.
Now it's pretty much unwatchable, since they play the same tennis everywhere.

I think it’s safe to say that the Big 3 will recede from the action a bit, though Novak may keep his foot on the gas to achieve World Number 1.

Perhaps the only interesting thing that could happen would be a guy like Thiem or even Shapovalov or Tsitsipas winning a Masters title.

Yes with Djokovic winning it was awesome never thought I'd see him went to Grand Slam since he fell off Earth. I hope he can take the year-end number one ranking and World Tour finals plenty still to play for!

If Federer and Nadal don't defend their finalist points from last year in Shanghai, and Nadal doesn't defend his Beijing title, Djokovic could make #1 well before year end and he is the form player of the moment whereas Federer is struggling with his form and Nadal is injured.

If Fed took the rest of the year off (after Laver Cup of cours ;), I wonder how far his ranking would drop?

Fed needs to plan on AO prep and resting his body. Winning more Masters means nothing to his resume at this point.

Metz is coming up soon where we'll most likely see one of the Frenchmen pad their resume with another minor 250 title on home soil.

I'm a little salty right now because my French colleague battered me with his Simon vs my Murray. (Indian Wells) He managed to produce the magic for 2 sets instead of the mandatory 1. He was as surprised as I was. lol Absolutely destroyed me. 63 16 06. I don't know what the hell happened after set 1.

I'm a bit down anytime a GS ends, except RG maybe since I know Wimbledon is so close. That said, I like the upcoming tournaments. Beijing, Shanghai, Basel, the WTF. I like this time of year more than I like the time post any other slam tbh.

We get an indoor Paris Open but we can’t have a Masters on grass.

:(
I guess if your a fan of a guy who is on the bubble to get into the wtf its kind of a cool tournament. But 75 percent of the top guys don't show up. Maybe Novak will to put a stake into the heart of #1.

Here it is....

Used to be Zverev's only final appearance for quite some time, until recently...

Lol...I thought for a monent you were talking about Sasha! I kept thinking: wow, so he made his 1st ATP final when he was only 13. That must be a record!! :D
