Some visual and music for you while contemplating, perhaps:

On a side note, any Prokofiev fans on here?

....

Barcelona alone would have been enough for me to appreciate and <3 Freddie Mercury. And it was such a wonderful coincidence that he developed a beautiful friendship and amazing musical connection with my favourite Montserrat Caballe, which in turn helped me appreciate each of them even more. Could never get enough of this "odd couple" really.

Freddy wrote and sang this little heartfelt piece with Monserrat's vocals in mind, amongst those little things called love and whatsnot - clearly an untrained but no less amazing voice, wasn't it? He could have been an Opera singer had he wanted to. Montserrat would be the first to tell you that.

For this piece alone, I actually think he sang it even better than her, a world-class and one of the greatest sopranos ever no doubt, which is really something.

But of course, sometimes words only clutter the sentiment. Soazzi for the unrelated rant. Hoap some of you enjoyed the music and dancing. There is much more to life than the Fed and tennis (and Serena), no? :)

Nice weekend everyone.

I think players like it. Fed moves like one, Serena would love to but she can't, so she puts tutu on.
So if players like it, who are we not to ?
Ballerina has a very very feminine connotation. A Sharapova moving like a ballerina in a black tutu would be literally the black swan. Federer? Not so sure. Tennis already is not seen very much as a man's sport. Such analogies don't help.

I don't know if the word ballerina for Federer is to be taken in a positive or negative light.

Personally I don't mind. But some, his fans and non-fans, do, for all sorts of reasons.

This is just a light-hearted and harmless parody of the I hate it when people compare Fed to God thread, inspired by exactly the same photo of his AO18 BH lol, certainly not diss on him.

Also a bit of an excuse to poast some music outside the music threads, even if no one here cares about ballet and Rudolf :p. Plus we all at least like dancing, right? Just a bit of fun. :D

Tennis is not very brutal like other sports, so thats why I think people will have nothing against it. It's art what matters, and tennis fans have always been more into art than WWE fans for sure.

And a 2HBH isn’t supposed to be feminine? Because that would mean 80 % of male tennis players are.

Ballet is supposed to be beautiful. But unlike ballerinas, who do just that, Federer wins tennis matches at the same time.

Not looking at the posts on this forum though. I see so many WWE memes and GIFs here!!

I love one handed backhands. I am only saying that feminine appellation to a male player is not going to help with the popularity of the sport.

Very familiar with the Prokofiev piece.
Thanks.

I am just sad and angry at the same time that something so effortless and beautiful as Federer’s playing style even gets called feminine. By that standard, 99 % of female tennis players play manly tennis, because it’s nothing like Federer’s.

Never been into one hander BH, to me it looks erratic. Specially when its two of them on the court to just looks messy.
I don't think its stylish, but massively overrated. And, its not sexy at all.

It is not unusual is it? How often have we seen Serena, stosur, mauresmo etc being called masculine?
Its probably much more common for females playing tennis being called masculine.

Federer looks feminine on and off court w his metrosexual look. And his BH makes it even more look like that.
Thiem on the other hand can make a one hander look sexy. @MichaelNadal

Ikr, eww @ Federer being masculine :p or any guy with layered hair :D
Do you remember the days where Federer used to IRON his hair? Hahahaha That was before his makeover to the short hair he had for a decade.
If I walked into the bathroom and found my bf IRON and straightening his hair, what would I do? Not sure.

The cat definitely wins the contest. :D
Finally, your old avatar!

Don't worry we're just having a little fun with @Bartelby who is the go-to expert here in feminism, racism and any other social topics that he may or may not find offensive.
And then try to relate it into a rich mans sport :p

He is a fan of Federer and Lenin. :D

@Bartelby There is no one like you!
And btw, did you see my St.Petersburg message?

Federer is pretty feminine tbh. He’s very much a metrosexual.

I don’t think being a metrosexual should be considered feminine in the 21th century. There’s nothing wrong with men trying to look good. If a man going to gym aiming to be more buff is considered a good thing, so should be caring about looks and fashion. Women should seriously learn to appreciate that.
