What the phuck are you djokonerds are trying to prove??
Apart from djokodal, every other one is a weak competition??
Right then, why the phuck did your heros lose just before meeting fedr all the time when he was playing better tennis than them??
A number of examples are there
Whereas fed made it to djokdal (just to lose) even in his worst playing periods..
Also don't forget the nextgen chasers for fed were 2 ATGs and for djokodal, nextgen was a number of great players like raonic, nishikori, dimitrov, lololooll...
If there is a weak era, then 2013-2016 has more claim (20 times more) on it than 2004-2007

Truth.

Federer defeated the greats of the prior era (Sampras, Agassi).

He then proceeded to decimate his own generation and reduce them to irrelevance during his peak (Roddick, Hewitt, Safin, Ferrero, Nalbandian et al).

He then remained competitive against ATG's 5-6 years younger than him (Nadal, Novak Djokovic) and also defeated near-ATGs like Murray and Wawrinka.

Now, at the age of 37, he continues to defeat those much below him in age (the Lost Gen, the Next Gen) and rack up titles and slams.

Truly a man for all seasons, and truly the GOAT.

No authentic Fed fans would call him "male" GOAT ever unless there's a feminist agenda behind.

I was stating that he is the GOAT of male tennis, which he is.

This is a subset of tennis overall, which he is also the GOAT of.

You could arguably claim that he is the overall sporting GOAT (I wouldn't, but some would), and tennis is itself a subset of this.

No feminist agenda from me.

Again, unnecessary and it raises doubt.

One gets the impression that like Tendulkar's 100th international hundred against Bangladesh in Dhaka it will be highly underwhelming, likely some crummy little event somewhere that nobody cares about.

LOL, I think you're the only person who thinks I have a feminist agenda. But whatever floats your boat.
The only persons who would even use "male" in front of "GOAT" are feminists. This topic has been discussed on TTW and other sites where Serena was suggested by them to be the GOAT given her higher slam count than Fed's.

I would be careful next time if I want to avoid this confusion.

I think he could obviously get to 100 (only 1 more to go!) but I still doubt whether he can get to 109/110? I don't think of Connors as being on 109 anyway, since he won around 150 titles (not all of them are recognized as ATP wins - but that doesn't mean that at least some of them were legitimate tournaments).
Legitimate tournaments are just those tournaments that recognize the main governing body of the men's circuit - ATP. Therefore, they are legitimate. Can Abu Dhabi, for example, be recognized as a legitimate tournament, even though there are TOP players there, but ATP this tournament don't recognize?

If it is a Slam, celebration would be huge. I will call 90's Clay, octobrina and clayqueen to party all night! However, looks really unlikely

You’ll have to tone it down then. Rn you might be a couple notches above Djoko fans on the obnoxious scale

2013-2014 were nowhere near weak. 2015-2016 are nowhere as bad as 2006.

LMAO at ignoring 2017. Probably the weakest competition this decade. No wonder Fed managed to win crap just like 2006. Fed has to skip clay even with a bad field everywhere.

Half of Connor's titles are 16 draw city titles

Its generous to say he has even 70 titles

How would you say 2006 is weaker than 2015/2016?

Baggy, Arod, and Ned on grass for 2006 plus weak AF draws point to this conclusion. Only Ned posed legitimate challenge on clay.

Djoker in 2015/2016 had to beat big 4 members for all 5 of his slams during that period.

Yeah true. After all Federer did play his best ever tennis in 2015 and Murray was always stern competition in those slam finals.

No need for sarcasm and Fed played very well in 2015. I checked his stats comparing 2012 and 2015 and they were remarkably similar

Certaibly better competition than Arod or Baggy

Definitely. The racket change basically had no impact. His FH was as lethal as ever but his serve improved like x2 and he learned how to play offensive tennis.

Being sarcastic isn’t helping your case. His serve and offensive net skills were objectively better

If anything, put 2015 Fed in 2006 and he does pretty wellas except he gets totally ****ted on clay

I agree. And his primary weapon the awesome FH that could hit winners from anywhere and dictate points was basically the same as before.

Absolutely but if you put 2006 Fed in 2015 it’s doubtful he even wins a HC title... that fraud lost to Nadal and Murray at Dubai/Cincy... no chance he’s beating Nole. Maybe he can sneak a Basel win but unlikely seeing as Nadal OWNED him back then.

Absolutely. And 3 foot Hewitt LMFAO. The guy would barely crack the top 200 in today's game. Roddick and Hewitt would be on the Challenger Tour today LMFAO ROFLMAO.

Today's Fognini would rank number 1 every single week in 2006.

Well I wasn't here then, but I can only imagine how bad it was in 2011 and 2015 for Fed fans. They aren't the same generation, so it baffles many of us how so many of you don't take that into consideration.

I saw it, but I was hoping for Djokovic to return healthy. I made my guesses like everyone else and had a few jokes, but mostly in good nature. Some posters were pretty bad I admit. I wasn't one of them. I turned a little sour after so many came out after Cincinnati acting like arses. Been working on my behavior the last couple weeks trying to return to the normal me. I got mad a couple times.

I do my best not to provoke and I make a conscious effort to back my statements with some semblance of proof or stats. It’s all one can do really.

These things are cyclical. Admittedly, a few Djokovic fans went a little overboard when Novak was winning a lot in 2015 and 2016. So a lot of folks saw his slump in 2017-18 as an opportunity to bash him. And bash him, they did. Most of those bashers were Federer fans, so naturally a few Djokovic fans lashed out at Federer when he came back

And for what it's worth, if I tear down Federer it has little to do with Novak, and a lot more due to my pure hatred of Fed.

Well you made it a point to post from time to time when Djokovic was down. Your hatred to me is only natural because I had the same hatred for Djokovic in the past and it sort of came back a little after Cincy. Don't think it will ever reach 2011/2015 levels again. A love/hate because all great players need a rival to be complete. I sort of missed hating Djokovic. I think you may end up the same with Federer when he retires. I can't speak for you, but it's the feeling I get. You're consistent and actually make posts that make sense and have value whenever you feel like it. Some of these guys never bother with ever trying to be anything else other than a Fed basher.

~65% of TTW are Federer fans. Therefore, they have responsibility to take care of minority (fans of other players). However, usually they don't do that. They flex their muscle by using their sheer numbers to win every poll and give a high number of likes to many inappropriate post. You will reap what you sow. This place will be interesting when Federer is overtaken in number of slams.

I will keep on hating Fed until the day he retires, which I figure will be bittersweet for me. His impact on tennis can't be denied, but I do think he's overstayed his welcome.

Despite all the stuff I've written about him here, I don't think he's an irredeemable a**hole like Connors, so maybe I'll warm up to him a bit after he's out of the picture and most of the bandwagoners have left.

I hated Pete his entire career, but you'd think I was a fan by what I post here. I had a better appreciation for him later and I figure I will be the same with Djokovic and Nadal after they're gone. I felt for Nadal during his press conference at the FO in 2016. I knew there was no way on Earth he would pull out of the French unless he absolutely had to. Then Federer at Wimbledon after that. Tennis felt empty, but I was happy to see Murray finally get to #1. If anyone ever deserved it, it was Murray. Ideally, I like to see them all healthy and trading wins like the old days. Unfortunately it hasn't and can't last forever. It's down to the end days and fans will get dirty. I just hope that everyone doesn't lose sight of how lucky we are because the future, at the moment, looks pretty grim.

2016 with Murray as main competition somehow no worse than 2006 where Fed at least had Nadal blocking him on clay.

Don't forget the guys fed was beating everywhere else too.....any ot the 2003-09 wimby draw would've been a nightmare for bestest version of djoker. If anderson of all people can give *ultron* a scar in 2015 wimby, I have no reason to believe that djoker steamrolls past Roddick

And this is just 1 example

Agree @jm1980 is a fine poster . He probably hates Federer more than anyone but it doesn’t bother me at all.

He was here when Djoker was in the dumps and that is a test of character . Likewise in terms of stats, general matters outside of tennis , he knows what he talks. Cannot say the same about other dim wits there
