Advancing in Leagues?

I was wondering that from season play to districts to sectionals etc. Does only the first place team go and second place if there is a wild card? Would seem kind of a strange to not take the top 2 teams automatically. I'm playing 4.5 doubles atm and my team is in 2nd place bc I couldn't make it to 1 match against the current 1st place team.

It depends. Some areas will take the top-2 teams from a local league, others take just the top team, or there is a local playoff to determine who advances.

For moving on to Districts or Sectionals, again, some sections/districts that want to fill out a larger draw/flights will take wildcards, others that have enough teams with just the winners from the previous stage only take those.

When there is a wildcard, but not enough to give one to each area/district, it is sometimes a rotating wildcard so that all areas/districts get it periodically, but I've also seen where the area or district with the largest number of teams is first to get the wildcard.

That "clear" enough? :)

Our section only gives out wildcards to sectionals when a league coordinator or USTA employee is on the second place team...

hmm with that kind of system thatll make teams cut out weak players. The team that gets first in my league is the same 6 ppl playing all the time which means they got ppl on the bench who are put out bc theyre not good enough to win. Yeah they're matches where ppl cant make but there are matches where you're trying to let your other players play too
