Jolly's Polys

Rpm blast 15g.
A different animal to 16.
Best snap back in the biz.
Most other polys don’t snap back at all.
They just shift back.
Especially the super sharp edged stiff strings. They don’t snap back.
Moral of this story. Try the 15g.

Well, I got to hit with the T1 FireWire last night and my expectations were pretty low based on the feedback here but it actually wasn't bad at all.

Which did you like better? Did you try fullbed or hybrid? At what tensions? Thanks!

Around 50lb, maybe 52 full bed. The ptp was God awful, zero redeeming qualities, but then I got some demos from TW strung with it and it wasn't too bad. I feel like maybe it just didn't play well in my dense patterns because the demos were much more open.

The fire was nice I thought at first but towards the end it was really bad.

So the fire was 100x better than the pro but still not great.

Interesting... I had a similar experience with fire, really nice at first, but liking it less as I played with it. Trying pro next. And then 4g soft after that

What's your favorite string?

What are you looking for?

J

So far, liking natural gut x cream but only recently started caring about trying things so early in my experimentation

I'd say looking for 2 things. (1) a nice slippery poly cross to go with natural gut, don't care as much on stiffness, care more about tension maintenance as I would want to have good playability and a more consistent stringbed until the NG pops (2) a full bed poly that is easier on the arms and doesn't notch quickly

Any recommendations certainly appreciated!

Read my review on the white Pacific string. It was really nice but a bit pricey but it might last long enough for you to make it worthwhile.

Can you tell me a little about your game? If it's more classic I recommend the Pacific, if it's more modern, perhaps Luxilon Element.

Ok will do. Some others have recommended Element and 4G as well. Which is why I will be trying 4G after YPTP. I guess I'll need to try Element too! Does this "trial-ing" of strings never end?

Re: my game. Definitely more of a modern swing and play style.

I just do it when I get bored. Companies and stores ask me to play test strings or prototypes so I figure why not share my findings.

I've played with the same string setup more or less since 2012.

Weisscannon Silverstring is one of the most consistent polys I've come across. It won't do you any favors and doesn't add anything to a frame other than that. Signum Poly Pro Plasma was also super consistent but I don't remember liking it for some reason. Maybe it's changed in the past 10y

I'm sure someone already asked.. but do you prefer the Wilson buttcaps over the Head ones? I really like the feel and look of the Black Head ones that are out there right now..
