Greetings everyone.

I have decided to join this forum and offer some help to anyone who wishes to ask me anything.

If I don't reply for a while it does not mean I am gone, im just busy, but this weekend is fairly free so I might answer some more these next 2 days.

I decided to join this forum and offer some help and tips because I have slightly more time than I had in the past years, saw something similar somewhere else and it got me motivated and excited to do something similar aswell and perhaps help a few people who love the game of tennis as much as I do and have a true passion for the game.

Im not going to be revealing my identity so im not answering any questions regarding that, but im a fairly decent tennis player so im sure I might be able to help a few people out.

Feel free to ask me anything tennis related.

Maybe he's Roger Federer...

But for real, im 100% sure that some top 100 players WERE at one point or ARE around here, maybe out of boredom at times, read some threads at times, not necessarily in this tip section tho, some might even have had or have accounts or even posted sometime, its just WAAAY too impossible of a scenario that none ever did or do.
I even talked to a WTA player recently thats ranked top 100 currently about something similar and she said she reads forums ocassionaly, but didn't specifically ask about ttw or if she posts at times.

Can you imagine if Federer or Nadal or whoever top 10 or 20 player once read your post here? lol, so cool, alltho for most posters they would probably think something like "what a id*ot".

Thanks for offering. I was wondering what the "fundamentals" are that the experienced players talk about. Unfortunately I learned the game by just playing it, and have tried to advance through some clinics at the club. I wanted to get some advance work on them before taking private lessons this winter with the pros at the club.
Also any neat tips you figured out? Technique or technology?

You don’t have to disclose your identity but more info about your level would be nice so we know what to make of your tips. A decent player is not clear enough!

Tell me about wrist snap and ATP and WTA forehands

Im not sure what you mean with this sorry.

Tell me how to play two handed forehand with crossed hands.(Peng Shuai. Monica Seles. Marion Bartoli). I am new here and I read that two handed forehand is the future of tennis.

Im not sure how I can help you, I play the forehand with one hand, you should probably ask a tennis coach and he might be able to explain it to you.

Lessons with coach are a great idea if you want to improve your game, the fundamentals in my opinion have to be learned by playing and having feedback from coaches and also by figuring out things on your own as you keep playing more.
Active feet and keeping the eye on the ball are the most important I believe.
I think the most important thing when you grow as a tennis player is figuring out your strenghts and its important to work on them in order to build weapons with which you can win points and games and matches.
Too many people focus on weaknesses, I believe its important to work on them, but I believe its at least as important to work on and build on your strenghts.

Whats your UTR rating?

My utr rating? Can you explain, im not familiar with what this means.

Go to this site and write your name where it says "search players, events,clubs"...
Once you click on your name, you will have in the upper right corner a number like 11.3 or something and it will say UTR bellow the number, and tell us your number ;)

Great!

what was your highest ATP/wta ranking?

Not disclosing that sorry, but il be glad to answer any tennis related questions of any nature that might be helpful for other players here.

I have played tournaments in many locations around the world.

Sorry but considering it seems to have many different numbers from player to player it would not be to my benefit to reveal it, since it would tell too much about miself, I can tell you that the number is 15 something, but im not telling anything beyond that.

What advances in strokes/strategy/equipment do you foresee in the next 10 years? I'm curious because it doesn't seem like the game has progressed much if at all in the last 10 years.

Have you won any ATP titles?

Yes, I have won some.

What advances in strokes/strategy/equipment do you foresee in the next 10 years? I'm curious because it doesn't seem like the game has progressed much if at all in the last 10 years.

It is hard to predict the future, but I think the younger generation has some nice talents, and the players are getting bigger and stronger and more powerful and the equipment is also getting more powerful and stronger.
But I think strategy and tactics are getting worse, and so is the way the players are coached, there is too much emphasis on power and overpowering someone and not enough emphasis on variety, volleys, smart play and outplaying not overpowering someone.
It should be interesting seeing how tennis evolves in the next 10 or 20 years.

Any tips on the forehand and backhand groundstroke?

Keep your arm relaxed, use your legs and body, watch the ball, be in balance through the whole stroke.

How much on-court time have you been practicing in your teens? How much off-court training?

I practiced hours every day on court, there were also other sports ive played but then my focus became all tennis and ive started playing more and more, hours upon hours daily.
As far as off court and fitness, I actually did not put enough emphasis on that at the start and always hated it, but once I really started working hard on my fitness I found I started to get to balls I never imagined I could and get more power with less effort and my game really took off because of that.

@Player881 What is the best ATP player forehand to copy for a recreational player?

I would not copy any forehand or any other stroke of any player.
I did have some idols when growing up and naturaly I looked at what each did good and took away some of the things, coaches of course also pointed out the key aspects and important things, but not really copy the whole stroke exactly the same because every person has a different physique and body that works differently, so you never get exactly the same stroke naturaly, but you copy the main things that make it great and then the stroke will shape itself after years and years of playing and it might become similar to a few players but not exactly the same, if you try to do it exactly the same then you are forcing movements that are not natural to you.

Any suggestions about how best to use the ball machine and hitting wall to improve a recreational tennis player.
Thanks

When you go deep in a tournament, how do you find someone to hit with that is not your opponent? Hasn't everyone left after getting knocked out?
Who decides on which bench you sit on (left or right of empire)?
How do you prepare for a match when you are following another match so you don't know exactly when you are playing?

Great, they can get Roger Federer to post on the boards but can't stop bots from selling fake passports.

What a time to be alive.

It really is Fed ... he just sent me a PM. He said the "solid snake" was a generational leap in understanding the modern FH stroke, and that I should encourage more Jolly garage R&D.

If this is to be believed, this guy is at least Top 100, but he is not Nadal, Djokovic, or del Potro (the only guys with UTR ≥16)

So "decent" player is a bit of an understatement here

Whoever he is I wouldnt be suprized if he never posts again considering how childish some posts here are turning out.

@Player881 there are alot of people here that would be glad of any help or advice but this place is a bit of a mess sometimes with crazy posts.

My question is how much effort do you put in your groundstrokes and serve if 100% is the max effort?

Why?
Im just asking him tennis related questions and seeing if he offers any useful advice.
I dont care who he is or isnt.
Its unlikely he is a top80 atp pro, but hey crazier things have happened, I bet none of you would be willing to stake ur life on it.

But like I said I dont care about that at all, couldnt care less who he is or isnt, just if I get any useful advice or not, nothing wrong asking.

The OP should be banned.
Useless messages and he is not even funny.
Blatant lies and he has "ban me" written all over him.

If he didn't want to reveal he does not need to bring up identity politics in the first place. Nobody asked him to.

Lol. You are still a young man. You will get sufficiently cynical as you age and gain more wisdom and the ways of the world.
