I have three K7 red. First one bought during Feb 2018, then on June 2018 and the final one is a month ago. The first one plays really soft and the other two plays firm and like a 62-64 RA kind of firm. So there is stiffness adjustment made. As a result I gain in power too.

Whoever felt the first few batches of K7 anaemic, should definitely try the new batch.
Mine is also from the summer of 18. K7 Red. Played pretty stiff. Even was the only Angell to give me a little elbow discomfort with full poly Lyon. Really liked how it played though! And PLENTY of power.

Have you noticed any difference between the two?

I think at present I cannot give an opinion. When it arrived it had poly strings and I found it very stiff, then I put the AK PRO CX and it played very soft, softer than the younger K7. But even if I asked the same tensions I see that the new strings are less tense than those on the younger K7. Probably the stringer did not work well. Now I do not know how much softness comes from the racquet and how much from the strings.
Anyway I prefer the "stiffer" one, but still I find it very comfortable.

My K7 Reds are from mid July and early August 2018. Neither of them are remotely what I’d call stiff, they’re way softer than my DR98 and Pro Kennex Q Tour.

More comparable to the Prince Phantom 100 I was trying for a while.

I wonder if this is a perception issue or a quality control one? Would be surprised if it’s the latter.

Stated RA hasn’t changed.

I also like the feel of the K7 line. But I will not try the K7 Red again. I will focus on K7 Lime (mine has not yet arrived). And what do you think of yours? Did you do any further testing?

As much as I like the frame in practice, the real test will be the match play, I think. When I’m under pressure and fatigue late in the second set. First tournament starts next week, will see :)
Let us know how you find your Lime when it arrives!

First hit with Black Knight and I am very impressed, in all honesty. Comfortable, predictable and very tempered. I had no issues with adjusting to the power level. The bigger I swung the more control I felt, very similar to my favorite RS Lyon in Angells.

@topspn is it just me or the string a bit more dampened/muted than most of mainstream polys in the market? Also I think I can go even lower than 45 lbs in my 18x20 given it seems lower powered than Hyper-G which I was last using. I had to up a few pounds to tame that lively stringbed of Hyper-G in my TC97 18×20. How long is the playability for you?

I only hit with it for an hour so I still have ways to go before I can claim it has dethroned RS Lyon, but a very very nice comfort/control string so far.

It’s a great string!! Agree 100%, the harder you swing the better the outcome it seems.

Yes, it is a string by Tier One Sports, a US based company. I am not sure how their distribution works outside of US to be honest. I know they are available in US and Europe and their website says 'coming soon' to Asia, Latin America and Australia. Definitely worth a try if you can get it.

I knew you’d enjoy it. Ever since I’ve tried it a few months ago I have not been able to play another string. It is on all my frames and as you said it has this quality in hard hitting that provides control and very tempered and balanced. It does have a bit of muted feel but not as much as RS Lyon in my estimation. I have noticed touch shots which require a bit more feel are coming much easier to me. I love it on serve as well were I again get a bit more feel and pretty confident going full out on 2nd serve kick.

So, here is how K7 Lime stands strung with 17G Kirshbaum Pro Line II and Solinco Hyper-G hybrid @21/20kg.
Weight 347g
(Strings +16g, Angell Hybrid Grip +9g, Overgrip +5g, dampener +2g)
Balance 313mm
SW 321
Flex 64RA
RDC String-bed stiffness 59
ERT-300 dynamic tension 36
Recoil weight 166
Mgr/I 21.15

String spacing looks the same as on 18m both TC97 and TC95. And why would it be different when they all share the same grommets. However the hoop of K7 Lime is ~2mm wider and ~2mm shorter than TC95’s and TC97’s. Could be just because it’s freshly strung!? Tension is the same, but different strings. Will check later again when strings settle in.
#3 grip runs bigger than on custom line.

Hopefully I’ll get some court time to hit with it tomorrow. After that I plan to add some weight at 3 and 9.

Adding 4 grams of lead at 3 and 9 hours (2 grams on each side) adds how many SW points approximately?

How do you switch so easily? Yesterday I took TC100 V2 - and it was quite difficult for me as feel, manoeuvrability was different from V3. I made a lot of unforced errors.

Hit with TC100 today for a bit and felt out of control compared to my TC95s. I had to put it down and grab a TC95..mama mia
I feel like I am playing so well with my TC97 these days. I need to stop doing that and start switching back and forth again and mess about with strings and tensions. Tonight will get two of my TC100 and set things right again :-D

Yeah, I get it and I can see certain styles of play may not be conducive to TC100. When I played the TC100 regularly, I loved the braun it gives and crazy heavy ball but I did miss the level of control and higher precision I found with TC95s. The change back to the TC95 did not feel like a big deal. But being so used to the TC95 again, it makes the TC100 feel more out of control then when you play it regularly and adjust to its uniqueness.

TC100 seems almost PA like out of control...only easier on the body [emoji23]. I need to get me a TC95 soon [emoji28]

I bought 2 tc100s 2 tc97 and 1 tc95 few years back, played with all of them for a while, sold my tc100s 1st (I think you bought 1 of mine) it was hard to choose between tc97 and tc95 but I went with tc95 and never looked back, sold tc97s and bought 2 more tc95s.

Yeah, I remember that story. I did sell one of my TC100s 63RA but couldn’t sell the rest. I feel at home with TC95 and flipping to TC100 wasn’t seamless today. I’ll keep for the time being so it isn’t just @haqq777 sabotaging his game

Today I played for the first time with an old head intelligence i.radical...
It's really like playing 2 different game compared to the Tc95 16/19...
The type of racquet plays a really big role in the game...

I definitely feel at home with this type of launch angle (the head one). For me it's like having to worry at every shot to over hit and going long versus freely swing and always stay in the court (or in the net of course).

To each his own...
