Well here is the new ASL3 measured at 293.4g and balance of 323mm. I do like the girly PJ :D She is getting BB Original @52lbs

Awesome! You're going with BBO and not the trusty BK?

To be honest, I would have been over the moon if ASL3 would have had 8 mains in the throat 16x19 or a 98 with 8M in 16x19.
That's nice as well, all Volkl 16×19 are 8 in the throat. Appreciate that string pattern. Definitely the best "1st strike" string pattern, ime.

The Prince 100p is 18×20 but 6 in the throat. Great, consistent response all across the stringbed. Good for a lot of playing styles.

Would like Angell to emulate these approaches!

thanks. I'm interested in tc100, 300g 325mm/6HL 70RA to match on Pure Aero or Pure Drive, any comparison for feel, power and ease of usage when on a pinch like babolat where you can brush the ball and still have free power over the net. thanks

Has anyone tried the new Wilson Clash? What’s with all these new RA sticks these days [emoji28]. Prince, and now even Wilson. Wondering how the Clash compares to any of the Angell lines in terms of feel and flexiness. Probably K7 red would be the closest comparison to it?

I think it should look more like the new angell asl. But overall there are none at all.

I hit with the tour version strung with 4G. I hit with it for about 15 mins and hated it so dropped and grabbed my TC95. My stringer gave me the camouflage PJ to try and it is comfortable, powerful, lacked a connection, lacked control and had a silly launch angle. I certainly wasn’t taking play testing it seriously so just threw it in the bag after 15 mins of dislike

Not quite the flick your arm power but good mechanics will generate lots of power. You may also want to check the new ALS3

I was using PD and my first Angell was TC100 70RA 300g/325mm/293sw.
I got more plow, more feel, more control. PD was too powerful for me. Spin was quite the same, but with TC100 you are able to hit flat (I was not able to du this with PD). PD has a bit bigger sweet zone. Overall - I cannot hit with my PDs anymore. :)

Edit:
By the way, it was very easy transition - I got my TC100, strung it and next day we won local tournament - mix doubles. So, it is really easy to use it.

Thank you, what grip handle you chose that's similar to PD? good to hear you can flat shots w/o worrying you can hit over the fence

Grip handles, PD number 3, TC100 number 4. I have tried TC100 with 3 handle, but changed it to 4 because of tennis elbow.

Is #3 handle smaller than babolat or other like wilson? I know babolat handles are getting bigger than I used to. How about the shape? A,B or C? And I believe Pure Aero's handle shape is different than PD. thanks

My 2c: I haven't hit the Clash but I have 7 hrs on the K7 red and from what @topspn describes, I would not make a 1:1 comparison. I have the K7 Red strung a bit tighter than I normally do, I started it at 54 Lbs with a full bet of Technifibre Black Code 4S 1.30, which has now settled at about 50Lbs, and it is not launching on me often, it has an addictive feel on contact, generous sweet spot, forgiving and even-feeling string bed, good control for me, a reasonable launch angle, and controllable power. It is my supposition that the Clash is a different sort of beast. Tennis Nerd had surprisingly good things to say about the Clash in his youtube review of it, so I could be wrong, but I would trust @topspn, and I would not assume the Clash to play that similarly to the K7 Red. It would be interesting to hear @topspn 's comparison.

The Clash is 24.5mm constant beam. I'm not sure what the K7 Red is, but prolly 21 or 22mm at the tip. Also the Clash is 100" and the Red 98."

I had the first gen Red, I'm hearing was more flexy than the current Red. But from my guess the Clash Tour would be a lot more solid. The Red I had did not take lead well and was anemic at net. It felt wonderful, but way to open of a pattern. I'm waiting for a 315g 16x20 K7, until then, I'm sticking with my Tour G and Duel G.

Top i think you have enough clout with Paul to suggest the 8M 16x19... please i beg!

Imho the 16x19 Stringbed with 8 mains in the throat has the best off both worlds! Would be a dream if Paul produces it.

Yeah, I don’t think the clash is similar to any Angell in all honesty and in the 15mins I hit with it, I was underwhelmed. The tennisnerd guy seems off to me in some of his assessments. For instance, he thought the TC100 was a control racquet that it was low powered and while i don’t think it’s a PD but certainly TC100 63RA has lots of power. Clash’s feedback or feel along with a very open string bed that launched pretty high was not to my liking and is not similar to K7 on those attributes. Clash was strung with 4G and I’m truly not a fan of 4G either. K7 does have an open pattern but a very even launch angle and adjusting to it is pretty simple. It has a tapered 20.5 beam vs 24.5 of the clash. Comfort of the Clash was good but that is all i can say for it in my 15mins with it.

Honestly, I do not remember if PD 3 was bigger/smaller. I think it was pretty the same. I'm using B4 currently. Head shape was not comfortable for my semi-western grip and I have not tried C yet.

I agree with you regarding this assessment. However, I remmember he tried 300g version and it can be quite dead with control oriented string. IMHO, 63ra version need static weight for this power and authority. It changed a lot when I have added 10-20 grams.

hello question I own since recently a TC 100 V3 63 RA 320 gr / Balance 30.5 cm I like it very much but struggle a bit with the weight on serve would removing some foam from inside the handle to reduce the weight would help ? I assume it may have an impact on the balance / SW ?

Removing the foam wouldn't make any difference. You could remove some weights from under the pallet but that will make the racquet only more head heavy.
Sw will probably stay the same.

thank you MilanA sorry for being a novice but what do you mean with "from under the pallet " ? perhaps best option would be to sell this one and go for a lighter v3 custom set up because I really like the comfort and design of Angell racquets

MilanA

Well...you could disassemble the racquet (remove the og, basic grip and the pallet) and than remove some weights. The are approximately 30g of weights under your pallet at your specs. If you're a bit handy that shouldn't be a problem. And it's a lot cheaper than ordering a new racquet.

But I think you'll loose more than gain with this modification.

I was you I would just quickly grab the handle a bit higher while serving and see if that helps. Doesn’t have to be much higher, 1cm will reduce the SW by ~14 points. You kind of move the pivot point higher and serve with shorter racquet. If that helps, your problem is SW, if not, then probably static weight.

I have tried TC100 63RA in 330g/12HL, 320g/10HL and 310g/9HL and in all configurations it was Thor’s hammer! Never tried in 300g

By the way, I have sent my both V3s back to Paul for adjustments, post has lost my package, then they found it afterwards, then I resend them again and now my babies are coming back to me. :D Christmas!
I definitely prefer V3. V2 vibrations = elbow pain for me.

So what are your specs now? I have a V3 TC100 63RA 320g/10HL but it is not seeing any playing with my TC95s

It shall be 310g/320mm/296sw.
I found that slightly more head heavy balance works better for my swings.

I'm planing to order two TC95s as well. Hopefully, it will happen before brexit. :) Waiting for Angell team feedback regarding swing weight estimation before deciding the final specs but seems they are pretty busy these days.

Also, you could lighten up the head by going for lighter strings. A 18 or 19 g main poly and 18g syngut cross could save five grams if you are using full 16g poly, which is about 15-20 SW points I've heard.

ASL3 strung with BBO comes out to 312.2g and 33.5cms or 2HL. Completely stock and no OG. I will try out stock first and then decide on what I may like to do

can't wait for your review on this one. Not sure if I like the pj on that ASL3 but that emboss Angell is sick, haven't seen that on other racket

What about the grip size, does it run bigger like on K7 line?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Both are the same I believe. K7 has a pallet now under the grip. I have not checked under the grip of ASL3 yet. However both in L4 with syn grip feel perfect size without an OG. Once i switched to leather on the K7 then I added an OG it also felt perfectly fine and similar to TC95.

Make sure you don't fly away with the racquet before it even hits the ball! I foresee truck load of tungsten tape in your future, good sir.

P.S: joking aside, good idea to try stock first and get the real feel.
