best tennis bag - backpack style?

I'm using it and love the size. I can carry three rackets if I want and still have room for plenty of gear. It never feels too overwhelming.

And for what it’s worth, the racquets can be stored at an angle, so the handles don’t hit you in the back of the helmet when biking to the courts. (As I do[emoji4]).

Do most feel here that the brand of the bag has to go with the brand of the racq you use?

Or is all that just vanity - no matter what just get the backpack you want irrespective of whatever racq you use?

Which one would you get between:

and

I am a bit stuck in between.

I have the Tecnifibre one, I don't love it. The shiny material is kind of a turn off, the front pocket isn't really well laid out to organize your tennis and non tennis stuff, and it's a wee bit too small. Construction is good, it's certainly decent quality, but it's just ok design wise.

My friend has the Babolat one, it's huuuuge, and much cheaper quality than other smaller Babolat backpacks.

What do you mean by "cheap quality"?

The technifiber one has got a two year warranty and it is waterproof and much cheaper. But as you say with shoes in, it seems a bit small.

If i had my own way, i would get https://www.****.com/p/Babolat-B756042-Pure-Tennis-Backpack-Black/24003726774. But can't find it in this color.

Not very well constructed, poor materials. The Babolat pure line is awesome, very high quality, but small backpack. The big bag is a step down.

Do you think this bag is waterproof and will last? Aren't the zippers too fragile?

I don’t own this. I just saw that frames can be stored at an angle when I watched Michelle’s TW video. I have a Wilson Countervail backpack, but I use my 20 year old Head bag in the rain. I’m in New York City and even just going from my apartment to the subway and out of the subway to an indoor court would get my frames wet. Looks like the larger Babolat bag with the handle covers might be better, but for now, I’m set.

DO you have any issues with zips?

I have seen the following bag but i am worried about the quality of the zips

https://www.tenniswarehouse-europe....ackpack_Black_Bag/descpageBGWILSON-WVBBB.html

I have read the following reveiw about this bag:

"I bought the same bag and the zipper where you put your racquets unzips easily, even when you are sitting down with the backpack on your back and then getting up, it just unzips. During one of my tennis matches, when I was bringing the 3 balls to the court with my opponent, one of the balls fell off my hand and onto the court. I bend down to get the ball with the backpack in my back and the zip unzipped causing everything else in my bag to fall down. I had high hopes at first but I do not recommend the bag. Instead, you should buy this bag. "

Ah the dreaded zipper problems. Well I am using the Nike Court Advantage Tennis Backpack and there's a ton of zips and they seem to be binding already somewhat on the inside weather-seam(?), or as mentioned undo themselves....

You can never know this sort of thing in advance. How would I know how zips are going to perform just by looking at them? It's only under load, or heat, do you get an idea of probs.

I have the three racquet bag and it's fantastic. I think it's one of the only 3 stick bag with a shoe deep shoe tunnel. Good zippers too.

It's not a backpack though.

Yea, I was looking at the backpack, the totes seem really nice quality like the one Osaka used, but I'll have to see a backpack in person.

My Babolat 12 pack might give up this year, so I'm not sure what to get for a main bag, that Babolat bag has been a trooper.

I really wanted to like the rackpack, and in fact I did love it other than the one factor which made me leave it. Everything was perfect but the accessory compartment placement drove me crazy.

It's design is so that you can use it horizontally and verically. I try not to leave the bag on the floor to make it dirty so I always try to clip my bags on the fence around the court... And with the rackpack, it would make sense to do it vertically, just like how I would wear it on my back like a backpack.

The shoes compartment is on the top, which is not a bad idea, but that means the accessory compartment which is where I would keep my phone/wallet/keys are on the bottom of the bag... If one day I forget my phone is in there and I just drop the bag on the floor, that would mean bye bye phone. :(

Good to know. I guess they have some fine tuning to do.

I never had any zipper open, but I did have a zipper pull come off. I just put it back on and tightened the loop with needle nose pliers.

I got my rackpack the other day and it is amazing. The pocket where you put your phone in is quite well padded. I can't imagine it breaking. Unless you drop it from 10 feet? It is like having a case on because of the padding. BTW, do any of you put your dirty shoes in the shoe compartment? Or do you guys use like a sack so you do not get the shoe compartment dirty. Because I kind of realised what is the point of a ventilated shoe compartment when your shoes will probably be in a sack.

I don't put my cell phone in that pocket, but I do agree it would be perfect if they reverse the direction of the shoe and pocket openings. It's still a great bag, specially it doesn't have that silly racquet shape.

Thanks for the information.

I am going to cancel my order. No warranty probably too big not very well constructed....

http://www.yonex.com/products/bag9812ex-pro-backpack-1/

Has anyone used the yonex backpack?

I may get the technifiber one. Cheap 2 year warranty waterproof....

That yonex design is nice. It has angled racket entry so racket handle wont hit your head when riding. It also have shoe compartment.

I also cycling to court and that backpack design is very nice.

I use Adidas Tour which is quite nice, no dedicated shoe compartment but has front compartment quite bit enough for shoes.

I would recommend prince backpack which is quite versatile. I bought one for my boy and he is super happy. The material is of good quality.
The only wish is that it could be bigger even though it is already quite big.

Do the racquet handles stick out the top?

If I can make one reccomendation go for this version:
xa-ba18trb_2.jpg

Finally picked up one of these. I waited and got a good deal during Black Friday/Cyber Monday when there was a free shipping promo, 15% off coupon, and Ebates was offering 10% cashback at Rakuten Global.

It is a great bag. I wanted something bigger than my Adidas standard-sized backpack, but didn't really want to move back to a conventional 6 or 9 racket bag. This fits the bill very nicely.

It sticks out. The bag is for daily use not for traveling purpose I would say.

Capacity (racquets) 2 Height (cm) 55 Width (cm) 31 Depth (cm) 23
with above dimension, it is already bigger than most backpacks. I previously owned babolat pure strike which is good and well constructed.
But I really need more pockets for other stuff for my boys like ipad/book/toys
I wish it is a bit wide and deep so it is more versatile. e.g.: if I could put a football inside.

Definitely 2, and if you have thinner beamed rackets 3. I can easily fit 3 Prince Phantom Pros in there.
I could barely fit 4 (it gets tight) thin beam sticks in the designed section, keep in mind the "locker room" style can also be converted to fit racquets as well, so depending on if you use those Velcro "shelves", I imagine you fan fit up to 9

Can you post a picture of the Townuse loaded up? I only really carry 2 mabye 3 frames so I don't want to get a larger 6-9 racket bag as nice as the Tecnifibres are.
