Nadal vs Federer - who will leave the bigger impact on the sport?

This isn’t merely about slam count, although one of them could retire with the slam record.

It’s a combination of success, capturing the public imagination with their fitness/playing style/charisma (e.g Borg/Laver), highlight wins/losses, example set on and off court etc

Who do you think leaves a greater legacy behind between these two?

In my experience when I make them "meaty" Your ilk cries to mommy and reports me

Well either man up and improve your insult game, or shut up and don't be so thin-skinned.

Not everyone shares your opinion. Get over it.

Who is thin skinned now?

And this thread is not the place for you to whine about Djokovic... Sure you have the right to... And I have the right to call you out for being a fool

Says the guy who had to resort to ad-hominem attacks to defend the honor of his favorite.

This thread was created as a copycat thin-skinned answer to the one I created about Nadal and Djokovic, so sit your whiny ass down.

There's nothing I said that is offensive or even insulting. Some Djoko fans can't handle the truth - your man is just not as big in the public eye as Federer or Nadal at this point. Perhaps that may change in future. But it isn't the case now.

Do some of you guys (notice I said some) EVER stop with the tribal nonsense. I JUST said in the other thread that Djokovic isn't as marketable right now as Nadal lmfao.... All kinds of false assumptions you are making.

Oh and as far as this being a copycat "thin skinned" answer thread. If you had already had your mind made up, why did you make the other thread then, chief?

Nothing wrong with @ABCD making this thread as a response or whatever.

People don't create a thread because they don't have an opinion, they do so to hear from others and discuss.

@NKDM

You come in a thread that doesn't mention Djokovic and start the old argument up you just made as an OP of another thread (in bad faith since you had your answer already in your mind) and I'm the tribal fan?

If you hadn't have done that, there would have been no problem. This "pathetic tribal fan" wouldn't have even mentioned Djokovic in this thread. You are a very silly boy.

This right here is word-for-word the same as my thread - ostensibly created because OP like yourself is a thin-skinned, insecure Djokovic fan who somehow can't fathom that a real discussion can be had about Nadal and Djokovic, and I'm the silly one?? Lol

I forgot to say that for me it is Nadal. I view Federer as Sampras with better backhand, while Nadal game is very original. I believe that he influences the game much more than Federer.

So what are you that "thin skinned" it bothers you it's word for word? Haha, especially when you made your view obvious in the other thread.

Oh and how many times do I have to say I said as of now I said it's Nadal!! LOL. Man you are so blinded with little fandom you can't even follow the basic facts of what you're talking about.

Impact on tennis or on people? The biggest impact had Nadal. When he came everybody had to reform their game. Dont forget Federer changed his racquet and playstyle because of Nadal.
Then Djokovic came and...pushed both.

I just admired intro into your thread and thought that a homage is in order. What a clever man/woman I said to myself. I am sure that you don't mind.

That is kind of response I expected from you. So noble. Did you notice that there is one word that is added to make everything different? Nice touch I would say.

It's Federer by a monumental margin.

I know many sports fans don't pay too much attention to all the endorsements by major athletes but Federer is just too far ahead and he's tapped into regions Nadal simply hasn't.

This is like the only NA ad campaign I can recall from Nadal. Roger has Lindt, Rolex, Mercedez, Nike now Uniqlo, Gillette, Champagne and Colognes.

I think that you misunderstood. My thread is not about endorsements. It is about sport. Who influences more the way how tennis is played?

So your whole problem is my view. :)

Thanks for confirming what I'm being saying all along - you guys are the thin-skinned fanboys that can't take any perceived negative opinion of your hero.

Carry on with the buffoonery.

To me, this is Federer's story, Nadal plays the role of his great rival, and Djokovic plays the role of the intermission plot twist that changes the script.

You could be right. It has taste of Johnson vs Bird rivalry and then it came Jordan. I even think that I read an article using that comparison.

Magic and Bird rescued the game with their rivalry, and then Jordan took it to the highest level.

Yes, I think a lot of people see it this way also. I have always seen it this way. If this was a movie, that would be the narrative.

I didn't misunderstand. Roger's influence in media shapes the game more than Nadal on the court. With regards to style, the two handed backhand and baseline bashing has been the norm since Sampras retired. Federer wouldn't be able to change that. Still Roger's style has influenced Tsitsipas and Shapovalov and if they become the faces of the sport then Federer's legacy would be complete. Thiem as well.

Novak was compared to the Pistons in such articles as I recall. Novak could be compared to Jordan if he goes on an absolute tear, let's see.
