...best chance and that goes to Fritz..., he's got the look...
2014 when they last won a GS together but with Jack Sock Bob won two last year, seems obvious to me they should both get a younger partner but I'm guessing blood is thicker than more titles.I think the Bryans have a good shot at winning one sometime this year, hopefully Bob is full strength now.

Of course!Actually, it was Mike.
Little $$$ and much higher risk to reward ratio. A benchwarmer in baseball is guaranteed over half million in salary plus benefits (travel, per diem, pension etc if a success). You need to be top 90 or so to gross that .5million on the ATP Tour. There are 750 MLB players on active rosters.None of the recent crop of players look like they have what it takes to win a slam, except for maybe one token title if the stars all align, and the Big 3 are retired... I hope I am wrong. My hope is that Fritz gets it together.
American youth is too concerned with becoming youtube celebrities or singing sensations to commit to the work it takes to become a successful professional tennis player. That and the fact that there is little prestige to tennis when compared with the likes of football and baseball.
Only if djoker migrates to the usa
Without looking, in the last two years Isner and Sock won MS1Ks and Querrey won Acapulco500.Perhaps we should count how many 500 & masters 1000 titles won by Americans because we start aiming for Grand Slams.
Isner. Wimbledon. 2019. The 16 year curse will end!
I think Isner might just well do it this year. Wimbledon obviously being his best bet but never underestimate the American crowd and USO despite the slow conditions, Miami can't be much better and look at him there.
If Isner will win a GS ill quit watching tennis. :S
as i said: we need a automatic height adjustable net.

Yup. Oh but his waist is higher than anyone else's! And this is the internet, so, thatz gunna be a dealbreaker!Turning 34 in a few weeks, seems unlikely that your tennis viewing days are in jeopardy. But JI did play some of his best tennis last year and finally reached the SF round at a slam event.
Auto net height adjustment. Funny guy. Does the net height change quickly enough to go back to its normal playing height for the rest of the rally? Can't see that happening unless you go to a virtual holographic net.
A low-tech solution is to go with a larger service area and mandate that everyone serve underhand (and below the waist) -- just like badminton does.
.

Yes yes yes, but people will find a reason to hate your new rule. Well except those of us who have a good underhand serve. Also, NK would relish it, so, that will be funny. Not really. His arms are longer so it'll be very tricky, if possible at all, to take advantage of his higher on an underarm serve. Even if he finds a way, the advantage will be very slight -- considerably less than he has with the lightning-bolts-from-the-sky serves that he has now.

Where is Donald Young? John McEnroe and company had grand hopes that he be the “one” for the Americans!
Hopefully not for a long time.
I want to see if Roddick evolves into a mythical figure this way.

Minor league pay is so abysmal that there’s way too much attrition from guys quitting rather than struggling to get by on as little as $1200/month. AAA money is only a bit better but that promotion to “the show” is right there for many of them and they hang on for that chance. Not to mention that AAA minor league baseball players still at least have all travel/food expenses covered and make a meager enough income to live whereas challenger tour tennis players are almost all losing money.

Apparently, the Blue Jays may unilaterally bump minor league salaries this season and there is consideration being made by MLB to mandate blanket increases from all 30 teams. In an era when superstar salaries are crossing the $30million/year threshold there is room to share the wealth to all levels.
Baseball costs next-to-nothing to play compared to tennis while growing up and getting the requisite training in tennis would bankrupt the vast majority of households here in the US.
Also, baseball pays a lot more money. The league minimum for a bench rider in MLB is 550K per year. 550K + free travel, doors, and lodging makes baseball quite profitable for somebody that sucks professionally.
I love tennis. But I would choose baseball in a heartbeat if I had elite talent in both. That is a no-brainer.
Either John Isner or Reilly Opelka.
Both of them meeting in RG final.
I like this. Mostly because i read it very quickly and thought it said Elton John. And elton john is like soopartrendy rye now.Either John Isner or Reilly Opelka.
