To start off, I really, and I mean I REALLY hope that I'm just the unlucky 1 percent that got their order messed up but maybe my case will be a recurring phenomenon you see popping up here and there, who knows.
I ordered a Diadem Elevate Tour and because of the Fourth of July special they have going on, I was given a free T-shirt as well, which was a nice bonus. But the weirdness started right after I put my order in.
I received an email shortly after my order from an employee at Diadem on the subject of my order total.
He said that I used the discount code to get 25 dollars off because he looked me up. Yes, you're reading that right, he took the time to look up my order history and found that I never put a demo order in.
I guess he saw my order and, like the other 1-2 orders thisyear month, was trying to make sure that the company was getting as much money as possible. Fair enough business practice but kind of sketchy and greedy nonetheless.
Then after I was already a bit suspicious, I finally get my racket in the mail. It's a nice blue color, feels good to swing, I inspect the racket and my eyes browse the specs, painted on the inside of the racket head. In plain view, there reads 10.8 oz (unstrung obviously). Then it hits me, I got the normal Elevate 98. But not the Tour.
Huh?
What?
How?
How did they mess that up?
How do you NOT check a racket before you ship it? How can the process be so streamlined and lacking in quality control that a mistake as easy to fix as this happens?
Now I have to send it back and I might have to wait for another 3-5 business days for the right frame, but honestly, I think those are 2 big enough red flags that I think I'm just going to nope out of the whole thing. I just don't feel great buying from a company that charges the same price as TW for a retail racket and can't even guarantee that I get the frame I ordered.
Again, I hope none of you out there experience my problem but I just had to share my 2 cents with the community that I know loves tennis and especially rackets. I would hope someone should know what to look out for before buying from Diadem.
