DR98 user here. My main racquet for alm
Hope you guys can give me some advice:

I used the have the Graphene Youtek Radial Pro
Great stick but gave me arm issues so i decided to change. Great on the groundstrokes, spin friendly and a massive weapon for serve/volley.

Then i had the Yonex ezone DR98; Great sticks but they are getting a little bit old and i wanted to try something new. Found them very arm friendly and spin friendly. Great on serve/volley. Quite low powered though especially when i compare it you the Radical Pro I had before.

Few weeks ago i tested the Wilson Clash Tour. First sessions looked great so I ordered one. Little bit a guess but that was the DR98 too when i tested it. But im feeling its too overpowered and not very accurate on serve/volley. Especially the serve is very difficult to gain kick...
I have a single handed backhand with quite some spin. Its great when I hit hard but on slice it is not very accurate.

So how would the Gravity 360 Pro/MP compare to the previous sticks? Especially the Clash and the DR98?

Similar story for me. I had used the Head Graphene Radical Pro from 2013 to 2016. Now I've been using the Yonex Ezone DR98 since 2017. Earlier this year, I was ready to switch the Clash Tour, and then changed my mind. Then I was ready to switch to the Ezone98 LE (highly underrated) or Clash 98, but I'm starting hesitate again. Too many good racquets out there. All of the racquet companies are coming out with good frames at the same time. Very confusing. :-D

Regarding the Gravity, I have demo'd the MP and Pro, and prefer the feel of the Pro. Ground strokes, volleys, lobs, and drop shots are a dream. I still haven't figured out how to serve good with it, but that is probably more me than the racquet. The more I play with the Gravity Pro, the more I like it.

I strung up the h.gp with green neon h.lynx
I personally liked it,, but the best thing I can say, since my opinion is just mine,
soon after letting a client try that very racquet!, the client bought one from my shop, strung the same (y)
I can see this racquet working with many polys!, since it has good power on its own (being a thin 18/20), but I prefer the 18/20s with a bit more power help, both from the string (power polys), and lower tensions..

Awesome! I actually found some Head Lynx green 17 and will soon string my GPro! Like you said, I also read a lot of good things about the green lynx! I shall see, as I found that the GPro and stiff polys like 4G doesn’t work well when the string loses its freshness (boardy feel and short balls). I think I will get a plusher feel with more pop! We’ll see!

I played with Gravity more and my wrist started hurt (my wrist was fine, only my elbow issues was for long time bothering me, but elbow is fine with Gravity). I cant understand why my wrist hurts because i always played with poly strings, but with Gravity i use Multi strings just at higher tension than poly (about 4 pounds). Also i made my grip a bit bigger on Gravity. Could it be bigger grip cause wrist pain or im totally lost... Anybody have ideas?

I'd say grip. Go down to usual size and note the differences. Many modern stroke players report soreness when going up size.

Has anyone got more time with the tour?

Just an idea don’t take it personally but many of us tend to put slight wrist action on the ball to increase spin. Might be subtle maybe not enough to notice with your usual racquet but when you switch to something new with different swing weight and than at that strung with multi you might be subconsciously overcompensating and putting even more wrist on it thus resulting in an injury

I notised the wrist pain more when im playing with too high a tension on polys
i strung the head.gravity.pro with 17g h.lynx at 49/46 lbs
having said that, and considering that its a thin beam 18/20 racquet
if i had to string the h.gravity with lux.4g, I would try it at 44/41lbs, I learned after personal trial and error, lux.4g feels good2me, when i string about 5lbs lower than my normal tension

An update on my Gravity Pro situation: this is easily my favorite frame since the i.Prestiges. I do have a Head preference (even with TK82S), but I’ve played with the APD, a 95D, a Beast 98 and a Blade 2015 18x20 in between the Heads. I think I’ve got the gist of how to swing and hit properly with the GP now - it is plush as hell and great to block heavy hitters. I don’t know if the Head Zepp sensor is trustworthy, but I’m hitting an average speed of 100 km/h (60 mph) and serving at an average 145 km/h (90 mph) - baseline balls are as fast as I’ve ever hit with the Prestiges, although flat serves seem slower. Slices are awesome - deep, low and poisonous. As a 3.5 player, I’m really happy with these results - I went ahead and bought a 3rd racquet.
Regarding my string situation, I was trying softer copolys at lower tensions due to an elbow injury (GE, acquired with the Speed 360 Pro strung with Hyper G 1.15). I think I’ve settled on a full bed of YPTP 1.25 - I’m going up on tensions so I can swing as long as I want to and so far I’m having great results pain-wise. Right now I’m up to 54 and will try 56 lbs next. I have 4 last string setups to test (gut/YPTP, Silverstring 1.20, Tour Bite Soft and Ice Code), but I think the odds are in favor of a full bed of YPTP...

Yes i put wrist action to increase spin. Gravity is a lot less powererfull racquet i used to play before, so when i need power i swing hard and maybe i put even more wrist action. I dont know now how to figure out exactly who causes wrist issues. I can restring racquet to lower tension (now im using Head Rip Control 16 strung at 59.5/57.3 lbs), decrease grip size or try play with less spin and see how it goes. Any suggestions from where to start?

So far, I’ve tried Hawk Touch (great for 1-2h; stiff as hell after), YPTP 1.25 (great muted feel, easy on the arm, good tension maintenance), Silverstring 1.25 (even more muted, great control, decent power for a poly), Pro Line Evolution (most comfortable of all, but somewhat lacking in directional control).
Of those, I prefer YPTP overall, Silverstring for control, PLE for comfort and Hawk Touch for my stringer’s wallet (not for mine, though).
All strung 50-52 lbs (flexible racquet, etc etc etc).

Next on the line I have Alu Power (bad for my wallet as well), Hyper G, Klip Legend + YPTP, Ice Code, Tour Bite Soft and Silverstring 1.20
What string gauge did you use for hawk touch? I didn't have the stuff feeling you experiencing using it and I have it in my Wilson blades for quite some time.

It isn't a plush string but not a harsh one either. I had it in the gpro and didn't find it harsh either.

Hit with the MP for a bit last night. Didn't find it that great as some people mention, yes it's got good stability, manouverable and gives good depth, but it isn't as comfortable as my current SV95. Head shape is strange but its similar to the Extremes and it works on the OHBH.

I didn't like the MP as much as the PRO on the 1hbh
the MP is less head light, provably a better option for a 2hbh
the PRO was easy to get to my head light specs for the 1hbh..

315g unstrung is a bit steep for the european clay courts, the MP allows room for modification. In any case it felt solid but nothing extraordinary really, just like the Yonex VCORE Pro which everyone was raving on about here at launch.
Oh and Graphene will still cause people problems, my hitting partner started to get pain on the elbow so he went back to his Angells.

Same here. My wrist started to hurt after a few minutes of hitting. It couldn't have been the SW because I'm coming from the Volkl C10 Pro where my sticks weigh an average of 12.6 oz and the Prince Tour 100 18x20 which are all weighted to 12.5oz at least. I strung my Gravity Pro with Powercord 17g at 45lbs using Sergetti. It felt firmer than what I'm used to in my C10 Pro's. But I was fine with the SW as my game works better at a high SW. I cut the strings last night and plan to string it at 40lbs this time and see what happens.

I shall see, as I found that the GPro and stiff polys like 4G doesn’t work well when the string loses its freshness (boardy feel and short balls). I think I will get a plusher feel with more pop! We’ll see!

Came back from my evening drills session with my GPro strung with Head Lynx green 17. Impressions vs 4g:

-much softer without feeling mushy
-more pop (1st serves and driving bh benefit the most)
-more ball pocketing
-spin is the same
-sweetspot seems larger
-love the lime green color
-bh slices were more penetrating

However these issues remained:

-Can’t seem to drive my FH like the RF97: Many short balls. I have to emphasize to hit under the ball to arc the ball deep instead of driving it. Maybe it will take months before I get used to that.
-(not the strings’ fault) getting jammed on fast balls close to the body.
-Counterpunching is great with the GPro, but found it hard to be offensive like the RF97.

Apart from changing strings, i added one more overgrip, to build up the grip and to add a bit of weight to the handle to make it slightly more headlight. Felt better as the stock weight distribution bothered me a little (a little too head heavy for me)

Played with my new Gravity Pro last night and first impressions are promising. Nice & flexible which is what I need at my age/physical status. Long time Pro Staff user but after years of use I developed an arm problem & switched to DR98. Specs of the Gravity peeked my interest and it helps our club is sponsored by Head so we get good deals an rackets & equipment etc. Strung it with Luxilon Smart at 50lbs. Good power, touch shots were amazing possibly helped by the Smart.
After playing think I may need to add a few grams of lead at 3 & 9 as seemed slightly unstable on forehands. But overall, new 'go to' stick!

I just added 1'6" of 1/2" lead on the handle + overgrip, its now at 8pts HL
if you need more HL than 8,, ive added as much as 3' of lead on the handle on some of my other more diificult racquets (h.extreme.pro),, but that's when its starts to get too heavy

Hit with one today, feels like the chinese clone of my old trysis 260, only has a plastic backbone. Hard to explain, the flex on the racket feels like plastic

Wouldnt play with it if it were free.

Don’t forget your racquet is flexed out nothing will feel like that it’s old and worn off :)

The chinese one was new. My other ones are warped from stinging so many times.

Something is very weird with most new rackets. They feel like plastic

I have been demoing the 18x20 and 16x19 for about a week now and have some conclusions from my test so far... Just to give you some background my favourite racket is the RF97 because of the power, solid yet plush feel etc... to cut a long story short I do not use it most of the time due to the sheer weight of the racket causing muscle strain in my back. I ended up switching to the DR98 about 6 months ago for my health and have weighted it up a little to get some of that solid feel back but am still searching for something with a bit more stability and plow.

16x19
I got Deja Vu with this one, it felt a lot like my DR98 with the tight 16x19 pattern, solid, spin friendly and very easy to manoeuvre. The racket does lack some plow in stock weight, I would definitely add some weight to the tip and counter balance in the handle. I struggled a little with my forehand on this one, could be down the strings being a little loose, not sure what tension the demo was strung up with but I hit a lot of my ground strokes long. Volleys were solid enough and my serve was a revelation with this racket, power, pace, precision and spin. I loved this racket so much on serve I would often switch to it during doubles just for my service games to get out of tight situations because simply the 18x20 was not doing it for me on serve.

18x20
I don't own a single 18x20 racket but have recently demoed the Gravity Pro and Spreed Pro so can appreciate the extra control this pattern gives. Hard to judge this stick next to the 16x19, you'd think it would be easy but I found I had an extra 4g of weight in this racket and a close to even balance of 33.3cm compared to 32.5cm in the 16x19. This racket hits a bigger shot, I have never hit a flat backhand so hard before, normally get more shape over the net with my other rackets. Very solid on the volley and forehand was good, much more control with this one. Not sure if the extra control came from the heavier racket and therefore a slower more considered swing or the tighter pattern locking my shots down, I guess a bit of both. Serves were very disappointing compared to the 16x19, I'm not sure if it was the string pattern or the extra weight in the head but I found it really hard to get hold of my serve with either pace or accuracy, I ended up changing my service motion just to get the ball in.

What next? I'm not sure the 16x19 is worth a purchase for me right now, I have two DR98's in very good condition and they can most likely achieve everything the Blade can with this string pattern, I cannot justify a purchase for this reason but really nice to know that since the DR98 is discontinued that there is a similar racket available if I need it. The Blade 16x19 has potential to be the better racket but I would need to experiment with lead tape and I do not have much time/do not want to ruin the demo before sending back.

The 18x20 is a little easier to justify, I don't own any 18x20 rackets so it could be worth adding to my collection. I have added some weight inside the butt cap and got the balance down to 32.6cm with a static weight of 336 grams, I believe this could be the sweet spot for me and will take this setup with me onto the court tomorrow before I send the demo back on Tuesday. We will see what happens, I have a singles match and am hoping the change in balance will help my serve and offer a controlled yet stable and powerful racket that I can swing all day.
Any chance you posted in the wrong thread? I think you are talking about 16x19 and 18x20 Blades and should have posted in 2019 Blade thread, but this is the Head Gravity thread (MP Gravity is a 16x20 so that kinda gave it away). No big deal, just wanted to clarify. Good feedback either way.

Man you're so off... Sounds like you try to cope.

So many weirdo's on this forum.

Maybe you got a lemon

Nah, i can tell a racket by hitting with it, all my shots were 3ft from the baseline with good power, but i didnt like its feel.

The flex feels really weird. Im not a 3.5 power player so maybe its not working proper :p

They must of changed graphite, most new rackets have this kind of feel.

I decreased my grip size a bit and after last play my wrist feels a little bit better. And when i played last time i tried to analyze my technique and i figured out that i put so much wrist action especially on forehand and when i miss sweet spot i hurt myself. Dont know what to do, thats like naturally stroke for me, but i think its bad for my wrist health...

I suspected as much. It’s not easy because it takes time but if you want to change find smaller racquet to practice/play for little while (May I suggest 93p) and change grip to more toward Easter and try to play/ win matches. After few months you will wonder how did you ever play with your old strokes :)

Alternatively if you don’t want to change (which is probably bad for you in the long run) you will have to use lighter racquet with big sweet spot (think pure aero etc...)

I dont really understand, why you offer me smaller racquet?I started play tennis with continental grip and changed it for semi western and sometimes western for some shots. If i play indoors on carpet i play between continental and SW, if i play on clay i use SW and for some shots even W grip. I would play SW all the time, but it hurts my wrist.

Oh fellow 93p user...I'm using 93p at the moment as well (since it came out...), Play-testing Gravity Pro and Blade v7 trying to see if anything can upend 93p which is great on offense but doesn't really help on defense too much :)

Feel the same way. 93P is best serving frame I've played with today. Love it at net and if I am playing all offense. Against bigger hitters I find myself struggling at times. Hoping this works but I haven't found anything I think feels better than my 93P yet....

Curious what string set ups people are liking in this frame

I got out for about 2 hours with it, strung at 48lbs with Head Hawk Touch 17G. Not sure this is the right string, but liked the frame. I have another I threw some sensation on the crosses to try a hybrid at a little higher tension. Nice pop, good access to spin. Not as nice at the net or on the serve as my prince phantoms, but def easier access to power on defensive shots. 2hBH felt better with the GPro as well. Nice frame all in all. Need some more time with it before I would consider the full switch

I’ve just came back from court - I was testing Klip Legend/YPTP and YPTP/Klip Legend (57/54 and 54/57) for the first time (1h on each). Did not like this hybrid, AT ALL. This is my first time playing a hybrid and my expectations were shattered - it is not simply easier access to power, rather power is there even when you don’t want it. Balls were going a feet long instead of 2 insiders the court. Touch volleys end up with the stringbed going all trampolines on a technique that was just fine with poly 2 days ago.
All of that I can live. I can’t live without being able to take a full swing from the back of the court, from hitting it on the rise as fast as I’m able, without serving deadly, but slow Kicks...
This particular hybrid set on this particular racquet strung on these particular tensions are not good, with the one with Poly on the mains having a better playability.

I’m playing again on Friday, but I’m taking my third Gravity Pro, strung with YPTP at a nice 48. Her companion will be the LM Radical Tour strung with Ice Code at a nice 54.

Interesting. I have the hawk touch / sensation combo with one at 54 and one at 58 just to get a feel. Should be back on court friday.

Maybe superman stilk defies gravity but the head gravity is used to throw people off haha

Or maybe he still in the phantom zone
