The US Open draw was perfect,

Let's face facts, the US Open organisers may as well hand Nadal the trophy now.

Avoid Nishikori? I was praying Djokovic would get Nishikori. How about they switch? You get Medvedev, we get Nishikori?
Different gamestyles suit certain players. Djokovic would crush nishikori...nadal would hammer medvedev. Nadal doesnt like players who can hamg with him in rallies..not nowadays. Nishikori..goffin..swartzmann are guys who even if Nadal beats them take alot out of him. Nadal much prefers the big hitters who over 5 sets start to tire as not as mobile.

Btw..medvedev not Djokovics problem. Wawrinka if he makes it to 4th round will be the killer. That is a nightmare draw and probably the one guy along with Nadal who genuinely worries Novak.

Nadal will be worried of Thiem makes SF.

2015 and 2016 Nadal was not fit. 2009 nadal was injured..2008 he was exhausted after olympics...before 2008 he was not of legal adult age .
Talk about calling out others on making excuses. :D He was fine, he is just not as good as at his favorite events. Nothing to be ashamed about.
Nadal is your kyrptonite isnt he...you started a thread about a guy you dont support pre an event...interesting...most interesting.
I would probably root for him if Djokovic loses before the final, like in most of the more recent Slams, so you don't know what you're talking about.

Interesting... Last year Nadal's draw turned out tougher than expected while Djokovic's evaporated in several rounds.

May this thread magic work again, Doc. :D

Im always right...thats been proven many times as i only quote facts..facts trump opinions.

Erm Nadals 2nd favourite event is USO lol...he is a triple champion...becker built a career and legend on being a 3 time W champion...nadal is a 3 time champ in New York..not bad for a claycourter lol...btw i rooted for Djokovic in Wimbledon every match.

I'll leave the x injury excuses to you. Apparently Ralph the "best player on American hard courts" never lost there healthy LOL.

Talking only about this part of the season, until now:
Nadal has 5 Canada Masters ,1 Cincinatti Masters and 3 US Open titles
Djokovic has 4 Canada Masters, 1 Cincinatti Masters and 3 US Open titles.
h2h in Canada is 1-1, in Cincinatti Djokovic leads 2-0 and in the US Open Nadal leads 2-1.

Those are facts though...if Nadal fans post facts its trolling apparently.

Comparing the opponents that Nadal and Djokovic had before the final potential, (it didn't happen) last year:

Nadal number 1 seed had:
Ferrer
Pospisil
Khachanov
Basilasvili
Thiem
Del Potro

Djokovic number 6 had:
Fucsovics
Sandgren
Gasquet
Sousa
Millman
Nishikori

Except for the first two rounds, Nadal had much more difficult rivals than the Serbian before the potential clash in the final, despite having a higher ranking.
Being honest, this was one of the easiest Majors won by Djokovic in his career.

And the toughest draws at each of the three events in the years they won were all conquered by Djokovic. 2007 Canada, 2018 Cincy, 2011 USO. :/

Federer has 5 US Opens and 7 Cincinnati titles so I'm afraid neither of the other two are historically the best in this part of the season anyway.

Did u not get the memo? Only Nadal fans troll apparently....
Let's be honest though, all 3 have had easy draws and hard draws to start slams. Some ended up living up to the hard or easy draw, some dont. They all have had their fair share of luck and bad luck.

I mean, 15+ years of slams draws... It happens. Think it evens out over a career.

doesn't matter what nadal's draw looks like, people will complain every time about it being easy

you'd almost think he's not meeting the player that bounced federer out of last year's US Open in the first round [shoulder shrug]

If people think every draw is easy for Rafa that's testament to the fact that they don't think Rafa is fazed by anyone.
