Who realistically stops Nadal

no one.
As I said, the US Open would be decided by the draw, and 2017 beckons again
Yep, don't see Rafa losing unless Djoker is there and in fresh form. Really don't see Rafa going down before the final no matter what.

A Djoker Fed SF + either Djoker Rafa or Fed Rafa looks in the cards. Going to be good if this holds.

No it isn’t :-D

AO was slow as clay for their 3 matches... Fed won the only sped up one.

And evidence is their big decoturf matches in 2006/2007 at YEC. Easy straight set wins for Fed. USO goes same way, logically thinking.
Nadal was younger than Tsitsipas 2006 and 2007...are u seriously using that as evidence?

Please explain why Nadal got further than Federer at this year AO? And USO 2018 and 2017...in two of those schooling the chap who beat Federer

Federer wont make SF. Not a chance.

Epically dumb OP from this fake Nadal fan.

Who realistically stops Nadal?
Erm, Djokovic?

Nadal played well in Montreal, and I think he's second favourite for the US, marginally ahead of Federer. I think if we have a Fedal final, Nadal would be slight favourite as the ball tends to be a bit higher bouncing on these hard courts.
Djokovic is obvious favourite. The most damage Medvedev can do in the QF is tire him. It will take a Herculean effort by either Nadal or Fed to stop him, and those two are the only ones with a shot.

Only person that can realistically stop Nadal is Djokovic - or Federer - but neither he can meet till the final.

Someone will do him a favour by beating them.
And then he will win the final 6/1 6/2 6/1 in just over an hour.

Utter joke of a sport .
Utter utter joke.

The good news is I got some money on him at 5/1 .... absolute banker.

Bookies must want to lose money - very strange.

Given Nadal utterly destroyed Medevedev, who is the in form hard court player, unless injury strikes it is hard seeing Nadal being stopped in New York or even losing more than 3 or 4 sets on way to title number 4.

Given nadal's form at moment (3 of 4 big events won), the humbleness of the man himself and his fans is so heartwarming to see. No arrogance, just respect for all opponents, and this is why Rafa is so popular.

Given that Nadal has yet to be stopped on any surface when healthy, the only correct answer to your question is, “His own body.” Otherwise, it is in the bag and he will more likely lose 0 sets than 3 or 4.

Good point also about his humility. His on-court record secured him the title of undisputed and unbeaten goat and boat, but it is his truly perfect personality that makes him transcend the sport and leaves him indisputable GHOAT.

His fan base is truly great for not rubbing his opponents’ mediocrity in their faces more than it does!

;)

He was number 2, multiple HC masters, Wimbledon finalist. The argument was Fed would’ve beat Rafa those years if he could reach him.

And because Fed is way past his prime so loses to mugs like Tsitsipas.

I dont follow this logic. How is Federer past his prime shot for shot? I am not trying to be difficult i just want a Federer fan to analyse the federer of today against the Federer at peak level in their eyes (guessing u would say 2004 federer?). Do it shot for shot.

Im not a federer fan so wont know his game like i know Nadals but personally i cannot think of anything Federer did better in 2004 than today except volleying and transition to net.

His serve speed and location is better today...his FH is harder, BH much better now albeit still vulnerable, and arguably his defensive skills are better. But id like your analysis.

Good stuff...

Over 5 sets though Nadal at USO and FO is nigh on unbeatable...only player who has a chance is Djokovic and even He i feel struggles over 5 sets v Nadal if its hot.

Literally every aspect of his game is now worse aside from maybe service placement. BH isn’t much better or worse overall. LOL his defensive skills? Christ... not even close. Watch how quick he was in 2006, especially on clay.

He serves slower than he used to, FH depth, placement, power, angles much worse, running FH almost non existent and a weakness that can be exposed, moves slower, sliced BH not as potent.

Are u sure about serve speeds?

Running FH ill actually concede on.

Not sure Federer can tbh. He barely got past Nadal at W, and UO conditions are more like FO in terms of speed and bounce than W.

Dude, it was not a tight 5 setter. With regards to the USO I know what you mean, but Fed should have the mental advantage at this point.

No mental advantage when he has lost the last 10 USO in a row. On the other hand, having won 3 of the last 8 USO gives an extra of confidence and mental advantage to Nadal. Anyhow, with or without mental advantage Federer can't defeat Nadal at the USO. Nadal is simply a superior USO player than Federer in the last decade.

Well , nobody denies that Rafa was better in this decade at the USO but still, you can't be so sure that he would win in an eventual encounter :)

Federer isnt making the final anyway. Absolutely no chance.
