Can you or someone tell me why he threw the towel away?

dont know, seems like he was just frustrated with how the match was going

he had a psychiatrist in his box (apparently thats not normal for him), i assume he's having some issues or something, idk, still no excuse for his behaviour

nah, medvedev was always like this

even on challenger tour was getting defaulted from matches and stuff like that :D

Yes he was always a meme machine. He seems to have a real skill for getting upset or feeling slighted and then expressing it in the most bizarre way possible.

The best example for me is still his commentary on corrupt chair umpires that involved him throwing coins at the foot of the referee's chair one year at Wimbledon.

Flipping off a hostile crowd doesn't even phase me. Might be you should maintain better composure, but not that big of a deal to me. I think abusing ball boomers is a bit over the line though. I'm now sure he intimidates Walmart greeters on the way out of the store.

Now this, this is awesome. If you were not entertained then you don't like tennis. The tennis was great and it had the antics as well. This is good for the sport.

Look, I get it, you being Ramos makes you blinded by the light.

Well I realised recently other than Fed, Medvedev is the only other player whose match I'd get so nervous because I so want him to win as a big fan. As for Ramos I was so nervous I could barely string 3 words together when he was in front of me. Disappointed with Meddy' behavior in the.match though. What he said in the interview was a bit unnecessary and childish. Drawing distractions for himself

I think Daniil is great for tennis. The coin throwing is absolutely classic.

What I like about him is that he doesn’t pretend to be perfect. He’s human. He’s real. I personally never understood why people expect athletes to be role models. The only persons that must be irreproachable are politicians, civil servants, servicemen ... you name it.

I know it sounds strange to say this, but even in the Lopez match, after the early "excitement" his behaviour really was exemplorary. And he was quite controlled in the courtside interview against a very hostile crowd.

I have to agree wholeheartedly that he is very good for tennis.

He has the same tenacity and thirst for the contest as Kyrgios, but unlike Nick he doesn't bottle it or choke in the big occasions.

We have yet another enigmatic Russian on our hands, following the long line of superstars like Kafelnikov and Safin who are not rebellious for the sake of it, but like to do things in their own unique way.

I don't like Medvedev, but I want him to beat Novak so roger can win the US open

I'm starting to like this dude. Towel thing was no bueno, but everything else is fine. The NY crowd is rude as hell, they deserve a taste of their own medicine.

I’m very confused now. I watched a bit of the first set and the crowd was still quite hostile towards him. But then in this video it seemed they were cheering for him at the interview. What happened in between?
Mostly fans of tennis remained and if he keeps off the ball kid abuse, is scrapping and winning, and is cheeky with it, he will win them back..

Guys like Meddy and Kyrgios are saving tennis...from the ATP marketing department.

What on earth are his sponsors going to use for the Mad Lad merchandise? I would wear a coin toss shirt.
