The first serve percentage is the story of the set (and probably the match).
Man, I thought this was going to be a rout with Williams taking it in straight sets. But now, I think it is the other way. I simply don't understand Serena. She has absolutely zero energy since the first ball. She has had this issue repeatedly for I don't know how many years now.
She gets all pumped up and excited for everything but a final match. Then all of a sudden, she's walking around the court moping... I mean it is almost so bad that I would say she almost should get a lack of effort violation. Jeezus.
SW is playing fine, she is just not used to seeing a player like this. Not another one like Andre for some time now.
So fascinating to see a WTA player who is not intimidated by Serena's power and is giving it all back to her.
Her returns are going deep and forcing Serena to go for smaller margins on serve and she's missing a lot of first serves.
Your post made me laugh, so I guess so?I am sure that hypothetical fills you with joy.
Okay, saw it this time. Just sounds weird with no crowd support. She has done quite a few. When she got a point in Serena’s last service game she did her 4th of the match
Bianca with a let’s go come on after holding serve. You’ve won like 3 games straight, chill. Lol

I’m honestly worried she’s getting steamrolled now.

Yep, tactical power. Backhand better than sharapova though.Sharapova had power but Serena always put an end to that.
Kerber had great defense and awkward shots.
Halep had great defense but not the same power Bianca has. And she certainly isnt comfortable at net and doesn't have the variety.
Bianca is showing mental fearlessness, power, and court IQ. Her point construction is amazing. So refreshing to not see the typical ball bashing.
She walks on court like that all the time. She has the worst body language you'll ever see. It takes a big point in a big moment before she really lets out a roar and gets going.Man, I thought this was going to be a rout with Williams taking it in straight sets. Yeah because she was always going to bring her A game in the final against Serena and anybody who couldn’t see that was silly. The girl lives for pressure.Bianca got broken by TT, you wanna tell me that she’s a better returner than SW?
She’s serving way better today than thus far in the tournament.
It's obnoxious but at the same time it's interesting to see Serena playing against another "alpha" type of personality. It's probably her way of showing that she's not going to be intimidated by anything Serena does, including Serena's roaring grunts/come on's on big points.Bianca with a let’s go come on after holding serve. This time it is her opposition and not her. This’ll be done soon like Wimbledon.
I'll laugh at the inevitable whining tomorrow so all is good.Your post made me laugh, so I guess so?
She lost her last three slam finals in straight sets. Not surprising.Man, I thought this was going to be a rout with Williams taking it in straight sets. But now, I think it is the other way. I simply don't understand Serena. She has absolutely zero energy since the first ball. She has had this issue repeatedly for I don't know how many years now.

Forgot about being outplayed. She’s serving at 50%. That’s nerves. She might be nervous (those DF are certainly atypical), but she's being throughly outplayed by Andreescu. She's out-serving her and being super aggressive with a gigantic depth of shot, variations of spin and wicked angles, making Serena look out of balance most of the time. She doesn't have the speed and, as consequence, the footwork to make her groundstrokes fly.
If this is straight sets, I wonder if Serena ever recovers. And by that, I mean her career and shot at Court.
Absolutely. Almost the entire stadium is rooting for Serena. She’s gotta pump herself up bc the crowd won’t.Bianca giving the taste of a medicine that Serena usually serves.
I like the "Come on" of Bianca in the face of Serena.
Halep played incredible in that match so I disagree with that. This time it is her opposition and not her.
