God is good, I shouldn't be able to have this much fun with Nadal after all this time :D

Like Fed in 2017.

Nadal wouldn't even be in the top 50 if he didn't play on clay.

I'll do one better, without a racquet he wouldn't even be in the top 100. Why are you making it your mission to make as many irrelevant comments as possible?

Also incredible wrong for that matter.

AO final, Wimbledon SF, USO win, Canada masters yet wouldn't make the top 50 in your opinion? Bro, get a grip before reality abandons you for good.

Perhaps he would...

He has the racket just as a prop here...

Incredible shot, and incredible angle of the shot.

He said himself he felt his highest level of the tournament was in the final, which says a lot about Medvedev!

2017 Nadal was YE1 lol...something federer still seems not to have totally recovered from.

Nadal off clay has the career of Mcenroe..add clay in and Nadal is clearly GOAT by a distance now. To equal Federer YE1 record will be awesome given 5 years younger.

He better not mess it up :p

RF never finished a season as no 1 in his 30s.

Rafa now might do it a 2nd time.

So much for RF's longevity superiority.

Hmmm, let's see when Rafa is 35-38 eh? But yes, Rafa should start to garner ther love for longevity like Fed was by this point.
Rafa doesn't have to extend his prime to 38. He was better than Roger as a young player. That balances it out quite a bit.

Coz longevity goes both ways, both ends of the spectrum.

But yes, RF will have the longest pro career, sort of like the Bryan brothers or Nestor.

This is true, but while it is great that Fed is playing at 38 (for me), he has not won since being 36. Rafa will likely win at 34 and possibly 35.

What will Fedfans do if Rafa ends up with a more impressive career in terms of longevity?

He has already broken several such records.

He has already broken several such records. His rankings were low since 1989.
Well if you are a Fed fan (like myself), you are a fan for what Fed has done, not what another player does or does not do. Being a Fed fan for over 15 years, I have lucked out being able to enjoy so many great moments and for this long.

But in general, yes, Fed fans that used to hang their hat on the records... well, they might be feeling a little less happy with his career now. Still a lot needs to happen.

"His rankings were low since 1989. "

This sentence was about Connors, made it in the RF comment by mistake.

Nadal is starting to get into very special territory indeed.

When it all "went wrong" in 2015, he could've retired as a legend with the greatest dominance statistic the game has ever seen.

But he seemed to embrace the sheer trauma of figuring out how his game had fallen so badly.

For most players, mental suffering and internal questioning is the absolute limit, for Nadal that is the comfort zone.

The challenges have all been met and headed now, and he picked up some nasty weapons during the recovery phase. He has added scary early round efficiency in majors, and from nowhere he seems to now be better against the field than Novak and Roger.

Getting rid of Toni was a blessing

Ahead of Kafelninov? Let’s not get ahead of ourselves here. I do have him above Coria in potential though.

Too many revolutions may have been the issue for Nadal in the past off clay though
I have Coria below Tier 2 (Djokovic, Federer, etc.) due to no slams or OSG.
