Yuck. Who gave the ok on that gross fluorescent red. Looks more like something you're dared to use cause it's ugly

It’s not even close! I have all the racquets too including the orginal brown paint Prestige Pro from 1986. The 1988-1992 Prestige Pro is glossy metallic red and brown. With the brown having a red glow to it.

I have all black ones before they paint them those would make you happy probably! Head makes there rackets bright so they can be seen on TV better! Look at the extreme and instinct they would look better switched around!

Things that make you go hmmmm….

Pro is 95” head, MP 98”, 22mm thick, hmm. Only “Mid” is interesting, never tried those newer 16x19 versions.

Anyway, Head lost their mind long ago...

They would all be “okay” if it wasn’t for Graphene

Yes they said the first instincts were to dark then they made it white and light blue! I've work for head since 1996
The first Instinct was gold and was highly visible. Liquidmetal Instinct. The Prestige is now much brighter than the Radical. Also the Graphene Prestige l, XT Prestige and the Touch Prestige have been predominately black racquets with the XT and a Touch being very dark and black. I really hope you don’t really work for HEAD because it would explain a lot of why HEAD has the problems they do now.

I have test racquets too and they look much better than these monstrosities. The extreme and instinct look Walmart racquets now. No class.

Head dosent have any problems if they did they wouldn't be selling at the top of the racket market along with wilson and the reason they dont sell the same rackets the pros play with is because no one on this board would be able to swing them ive hit with all the Head pro's racket all of them and they are all well over 12oz unstrung.

Head is doing great in sales the speed was a top selling racket of 2019 so i guess they are doing something right!

You know nothing. HEAD pro stock racquets all start out as very light hairpins. They can be to any specs you want!
Here is a lovely TGT292.1 Prestige Mid in absolutely lovely Touch Prestige paint job. It plays very close to the Prestige Classic. Lovely feeling and playing racquet customized to my personal specs. Lovely.
Here is one of my PT57A2(Pro Tour 630/280) in Graphene Prestige MP paint job. Lovely playing racquet and what the Prestige MP should play like.

I do know i will be hitting with the new Prestige on Monday!
Please let me know how flexible these are.

I'm open to 98si but tire of trying to find a replacement for the classic prestiges. It may just be time to commit to a modern frame, so I may just go for the Speed instead of continuing to compromise with the Prestige line.

The gravity pro feels like a old school racket

Demo the Wilson Blade V7. It feels and sounds like a classic HEAD racquet from the 1990’s.

I bought a Head Tennis Sensor (the one that goes into the buttcap) and need a Head racket. Acknowledging that the data science still needs some tuning, but it was really nice having some stats about my hitting sessions. I've thought about clipping 2cm of the hairpin inside the handle, but afraid of damaging the frames. Also, don't know how the tennis sensor will handle a hacked tennis racket.

So here's my thought process, if I'm chasing that classic feel, its better to use pro stocks or the PTs and iPrestiges still left over in good condition. I'm tired of the cycle of buying a new model, hoping it feels like the classics, and then trying to resell them after a few hitting sessions.

@vsbabolat - With the Blade v7, acknowledging it could come close, but would rather wait for a matched pair of PT57As. Right? PT57 > Blade v7?
@Tennisflood - Don't want to buy a new set of Gravities only to get burned again. If I have to compromise on head size and switch lines, then I'd rather go all in and switch to a different racket.

Instead of chasing that classic feel, Head has turned me off to the Prestige line, so will commit to and try something else. 22mm beam and 98si sounds suspicious. I'm afraid it'll have a stiff hoop and feel nothing like the pre 2010 prestiges. :'(

I feel like I've been stuck in a loop and need to break free to quit burning money. Eating 25-50% discount reselling rackets is exhausting. Are other folks on this thread experiencing the same thing?

I’ve jump off the BS with HEAD and only play with Austrian racquets or when a new PT57A with the current paint job when they come my way. I have no interest in their BS marketing. I haven’t bought a new HEAD since 2014 when the first awful Graphene came out. Turned me off very how that thing played.
Demo the Blade V7 and you can make an informed decision.

I'm always interested to hear about the new Prestige and Radical racquets in the hope that they will return to the great racquets they used to be in the '90s, early 2000s, and the Youtek IG range.

However, in all honesty, if they don't the only shame is for Head and their apparent desire to self-destruct. I take care of my racquets, and I have several examples of all the "greats" (at least in my book - PT630, RT630s, i.Prestige MP and Mid, MG Prestige Pro, IG Prestige MP and Mid, i.Radical MP, TXP Pro, Prestige 600, LM Radical MP), so that is enough racquets for a lifetime. I rotate them, take care of them, and also have other great racquets from other brands... if they never return to their glory days, it's their funeral because I'm set and I won't buy any more of their new crap.

Maybe that was their perfection and they feel they would kill themselves off if they just produced the same thing with different colours. Let's face it, we would then be saying "why should I buy this new one... it's the same as the last one but this new colour." Would that be enough for all of us to justify forking out top dollar time and time again... I'm not sure. Then we'd just buy up the paint job we liked the most and complain about how they don't make that colour anymore.

I'm set either way... and Head will either return to making great racquets... or not.

Rant over.

Okay, we know Head retail racquets are junk. They are fun to play around with though. I kinda like the look of these, even if they look more like a Radical than Prestige.

Is it too much to ask for a retail PT113b for over $200 of our hard earned money ?
Yes because head is a deceiving company and their goal is to rip off those who are uneducated. Their pro stocks are Very customizable and they are not that heavy. What they sell to the public has become worse and worse every year. Most of those head retail sticks are junk and they will not help you to play better tennis. head conceal their better models even though they still want your money.

They will never make a prestige of the 90s the players now want stiff light rackets they take huge cuts at the ball it's all about fiscal tennis!

Agreed. What Murray achieved with the prestige is incredible and I was disgusted how he allowed them to paint it orange and force him to call them radical. He would not be even close if he played with today’s prestige, if you can still call them prestige. I guess I need more info on the new prestige but head has been disappointing me again and again.

And there is no one who can replace my man Safin.

Im sure the new Prestige is nothing like Murray's prestige but the 360+ will have more pop than the touch model im going to hit with it tomorrow!

Actually Murray uses the Pro Tour 630. Also the original Radical was the same mold as the Pro Tour 630. Here is one of my Radical Tour TwinTube which is the same mold as the Pro Tour 630.
It looks just like the Prestige MP. What HEAD did was turn the Prestige line into the Radical. The OG Prestige line was Midsize of 89.5sq.in and an MP of 102sq.in

Great info. This is before my time with tennis. But since when did the radicals ditch the CAP ?
