Today he couldn't rally like he normally does, so he tried a few things we aren't accustomed seeing, mostly touch shots.

Or going for outright winners.

And the great thing is these shots went in.

It was almost Federesque at times.

i've seen him go for touch shots a lot on multiple occasions. He will always try and change his game up if things aren't working.

Easily the worst thing about Rafa is that he's a truly great player of pretty much every shot. That's what makes all the top-spin-to-the-BH, the fakery, withdrawals, retirements, gamesmanship and "routines" all the more tragic. But he is a good troll.

Rafa-Medvedev is the most entertaining match-up on tour, they are the 2 best players in the world for playing long rallies, and it forces Rafa to charge the net which is very entertaining

Also, their backhands are both 2-handers but completely opposite because of Medvedev only having 24rps and Rafa having 41rps, great variety on the backhands side alone.

Soon certain fan groups will be sending petitions to the ATP to ban bottle-arrangments, heavy lefty topspins and even injuries. They might also want to ban clay, longer rallies and anything else that annoys them.

All the greatest and most memorable matches for the last 15 years have involved Nadal. The guy brings the heat for a reason, lights up the stadium like no one else.

Tennis will be so **** without Nadal you won't get even half of the epic matches in a way which he uniquely brings.
