Carsen Edwards was a big steal in the draft.

@FRV2
For sure. He had a really impressive preseason. Stuck out even though I was only watching for Tacko Fall lol. Didn't know if it would translate to tougher competition in the regular season, but apparently it does. So much depth on this team.

I do wish we had been able to get Tyler Herro. Just started watching him now and he is sensational. Great pull up jump shot.

Horrible coaching from Rick Carlisle and horrible Porzingis once again. I really don't understand how he was given a max contract extension when he hadn't played a single match in Mavs uniform after a long absence.

Just noticed that ESPN’s analytics-based BPI model absolutely loves the Bucks, giving them 44% chance to win NBA title, 3x higher than the second highest team, the Lakers at 14%

Load Management cost the Clips a bad loss to bottom-feeding Zion-less Pels.

PG put up 33 pts and +7, but wasn’t enough with Lou Williams’ deceptively bad 31-pt performance with poor D ( -20 ).

So I was looking at Greek Freak’s game log since I own him on a fantasy team and holy **** I thought I was looking at prime Shaq’s game log. 30/13, 29/17, 14/10, 22/14, 29/14, 36/15, 34/15, 38/16, 30/13, 35/16, 38/16. Averaging 34/15 over his last 7 30/14 for the year.

You’re not allowed to discuss anything tonight but a NYK win vs The Unicorn!

2-0 vs the two most overrated players. Doncic shutdown in the 4th by Frank and Porzingis was shutout completely. Bonus points that Cuban also owns that team always a good day when he loses. Don’t care what happens for the rest of the season we won the only two games that mattered this year

I don't think so. I think they did a lot of developing.
They lost all-world Leonard but plug in OG, who didn’t play the whole season last year, Boucher and ex-Net RHJ and get adequate replacement output. Also, it lets Siakim be the main man. Now they need someone to step into the Danny Green void. Right now they’re splitting time with two rookies, Matt Thomas and Terence Davis. That’s doing OK for now but I expect some move before the trade deadline to help fill that spot.

I hear Suresh is available for a cool even billion. Bargain since you’re guaranteed a trophy.

They have no clue.
When was the last time a team with a best player that cannot dribble won a championship? If you can't create your own shot, you are not winning the NBA playoffs.

About the Warriors injuries, it's a real shame. You never like to see any injuries let alone ones as serious as the ones to KD and KT, but the Raptors deserve full credit. Do I think the Warriors would've beaten them if they were 100% KD and all, actually yes I do, but the Warriors have had injury help from other teams during their run too. As great as they are, they've had a lot of help with other teams injuries.

Chris Paul, Kawhi in SA, Boogie before he came to the Warriors and a few more.

As far as the offseason goes it should be interesting to see if Kawhi leaves or stays. If he leaves now, Toronto couldn't have made a better impression on him so there shouldn't be any regrets there. If I was him I don't know why I'd leave tbh. He was taken care of meticulously, and it worked out beautifully to absolute perfection. Can't see why he'd leave, but I have a nagging feeling he will.
Kawhi would have re-signed with Raptors if the team had agreed to trade for George. They declined to do that trade, so he went elsewhere where that trade could happen.

Still, great to have Kawhi for that one great season and championship run, the best trade the Raptors have ever made was to get Kawhi for that one year.

Streak is finally over for Boston. Close one was bound to bite em eventually

Marcus anything but Smart tonight as he gets rebound up one with 13 seconds left, doesn’t kick it out, then fouls Kings guy who makes both fts .. then misses game winner

SRS ratings so far show the Bucks (+11) and Lakers (+10) as class of the league. Clippers (+8) and Suns (+8) are better than their records suggest, while Celts (+6) have apparently benefited from weak schedule.

It is just conceivable, (though not probable) that two years from now, Kawhi could opt to return to the Raptors, that is within the bounds of the possible.

For this year, the Raptors still have a good core of players, many of them young, and come trade deadline might acquire a star from somewhere to lead the post-season run.

It has happened before, last year Raptors acquired Gasol to solidify the centre position going into the playoffs.

And as it happens Gasol is the best asset to trade with his hefty contract ending this year.

Well, I am not yet ready to write off this season. If all goes well, they might need Gasol in the post season.

Maybe trade draft picks.
They won't get anything playoff material with draft picks. If they think they can make the playoffs which is very likely, they will not trade Gasol I think. Maybe a surprise trade for some other player? Who knows.

Raptors have a deep bench so they might move a package of two or three players for a star player in a final contract year, something like the Kawhi deal.

But they need to be competitive at that point.

Good bounce back win for Boston over the Suns. Amazing defensive effort. 1 day off then a big one with the Clippers.

Hopefully mr load management decides to show up I wanna see how Boston stacks up

Don't like blaming refs but they had a rough game (to put it mildly) tonight in LAC Boston. Happy with how Boston competed though. Pretty obvious they're a good team this year. Need Hayward back though.

Also this load management stuff is getting old. Amazing how Kawhi is fit and healthy when the game is in primetime...logging the 2nd most minutes played for the Clips tonight. I'm cool with him missing some games but not playing like once a week. That's weak stuff from one of the sports best players. Don't see James Harden doing that load management crap. Or Lebron who is way older.

It's okay to a point but it's getting a bit ridiculous.

Just looking at some highlights now. I believe this is the first time Kawhi and PG played together? Says a lot that they brought them both out for the Celtics. Clippers will get even better as Kawhi and PG develop chemistry. I think Celtics are real contenders this year, but they need to get lucky with who their opponent is in the finals if they get that far. I don't think this team can handle the Lakers. Probably a better chance against the Rockets and Clippers, but still kind of slim. If the Nuggets make it, now we're talking.

Suspect the WC champs will look a lot different from the teams starting now. Old broken bodies

A WC champ with size will expose the Celtics front court unless they swing a deal before the trade deadline.

Visiting Blazers are deer in the Stampeding Bucks’ headlights. 17-6 after three minutes with perfect 7/7 (3/3 treys) shooting from all five starters.

Another monster game from from the real best player after LBJ. The non load managing superstar from Milwaukee put up 24/19/15 with 3 steals and 1 block.

Both LA squads win by 3 with LAC rallying from 5 down with a minute left. The LeBronskis had to hang in there vs OKC after the hosts thundered back, partially inspired by a flagrant 2 ejection of Rondo for purposeful kneeing Schroder in the family jewels.

Doncic showed Harden and Westbroke in their home who is the king of the South. 41/6/11 from Luka in comfortable win and the last 5 minutes was garbage time!
Porzingis started playing like a team player in the last few games. Hardaway Jr shining already.

Load Manager’s old team - the Raptors - has just nudged past the Lakers into the #2 spot in the NBA (behind the Bucks) in the SRS ratings.
Imagine what Raptors would have been if Kawhi stayed in their second year together. They are one of the elite teams even without him. Plus it looks like they can beat any team without Lowry and Ibaka.

Raptors are 1-4 against .500 or better teams.
And those are the only losses in record this year. All were on the road, against BOS, MIL, LAC, DAL.
All of them are in Top 4 in their conference. I don't see any weakness here.
Besides they beat the LAL in their home with 2 key players out.
They are ranked 6th in ESPN's power index which is computer generated based on results.
