Let's not beat around the bush here. The answer is 2003-2007. Federer was able to take advantage and win the majority of his grand slams during this timeframe, before Djokovic and Nadal (other than clay) arrived.

What's the difference between then and 2015-2020 where Djokovic has managed to rack up countless majors against completely horsesh*t competition?

I'll actually revise my answer from 2000-2004 to 2001-2005 instead because 2000 was a slightly stronger year than 2005.

Late 90s to 2002-03ish weakest out of those options. I have nothing against Agassi, but that was also the time he took his opportunity and padded his major tally.

Federer emerging and then Nadal later brought some balance and the scene definitely recovered and got stronger.

Surprisingly 18% of the voters agree with me so far that 2005-2009 was the weakest era. It was such an average era with no major threats to nadal and Federer.

also rightly so no one has voted for 2010-2014.

It's not mate. Late 90s early 00s wins this by a landslide.

15-20 being neck and neck with that period in the poll must be some big level of trolling by posters here.

It’s absolutely laughable that some vote 2003-2007 and ignore the obviously weaker 2000-2002 period. It shows the vendetta these people have against Federer.

You are right,But you ignore 11 votes for 15-20. If there is vendetta against Fed, so is there for Djokovic.

What do you think of the period between 1996 to 2000?
Please, be honest!

Not a single person under 30 years old has won a major

The answer is obvious

2015-2019

A completely and absolutely worthless two entire generations of players

Nothing compares
The next gen guys are still young so they got time on their still in the early parts of their careers. The lost gen on the other hand....yeah that’s a gen full of mugs

2015-2019 Nadal > 2003-2007 Nadal
In addition, 2015-2019 Djokovic still had to deal with a declined Federer, whereas 2003-2007 Federer had a Djokovic that was even worse (still a Djoke).

From weakest to strongest:

1) 1998-2002....1*
2) 2016-2020....1.5*
3) 2002-2006....3*
4) 2011-2015....4*
5) 2007-2011....5*

Legend
1* = very weak, 2* = mediocre, 3* = average, 4* = strong, 5* = very strong

PS: 2011-15 only gets a 4* because of the very strong period of 2011/2012, and to some extent 2013.

2000-2004 would’ve looked like a trollishly tempting stretch to quote if 2015-2019 didn’t exist.

Those 2000-2004 guys would’ve curbstomped these 2015-2019 guys.

Why are people replying in a thread made for only riling up fanbases?

This is really a bait.

On topic 2000-2004 easily the weakest.
By strength
1.2010-2014
2.2005-2009=2015-2019
3.2000-2004

If someone searches on GPPD for the most used word, weak has to be the one.I mean, weak era day in day out; tennis must be such an weak sport.

There is no word "weak" here. The word is "weakest". Thus, it is relative; the weakest 5-year period in the last 20 years can be still very strong.

Daaaaaaaaaamn Sampras and Federer really vultured slams during weak ELO.

Of course, look at their opponents. At least 15 to 19 had 17 to 19 good level Rafa, decent Fed, 15 to 16 good level Andy, Wawa, and of course Novak. That lot there as a group are better than the best of 00 to 04 as a group.
