he was always a good top 20, top 30 player, but in 2013/14 something changed? what was it?

I think there are players more gifted than Stan but he seems to have really made the most of his potential

He finally beat Djokovic at AO after reaching absurd level in their grand slam matches. That unlocked the mental trigger. If you don't beat the guy it starts to become a block, and Stan is one of the few who has this now against Djoker.

Ironically Stan was lucky that Robin caught that mono that put him on the sideline and Magnus became available for Stan. The rest is history.
I’m curious to see who he’ll coach next. He’s expressed his interest in coaching one of the younger players- Kyrgios was one of the names he mentioned.

This happened, the birth of "Stanimal"!
but this was before Magnus. He then won the year later '14.
maybe he would have won '14 also without magnus?

If it really is about Magnus... then what the hell is he saying to them?
U think he can to the same with other top 20,30 players?

This match proved he could compete at the highest of levels, maybe Magnus helped him realize that he could do that and win it.

Probably nothing. He's good in spurts but he is not reliable to win win win. Three QF finishes in the last 4 majors is nice but hardly Stanimal. Those days are alas gone. Prove me wrong Stanislas but I doubt you can.

It's both technical and mental.
Magnus Norman had helped him with the later, but his forehand had been improved significantly after 2012. Instead of hitting it flat, he started to impart a lot of topspin and thus make that shot much heavier and more reliable. I actually think this is by far his biggest improvement (the same goes for Novak's success in 2011).

I think the change on the forehand is a small change many dont realise.
