I'd say close to zero based on timeline of virus containment and such. NCAAs is still over two months away.

Ivy basketball cancellation seems very much like knee-jerk decision due to reactions from some of the Ivy campuses. Not sure how much this relates, but Ivy league does not like having conference championship tournaments. For years, they were the only conference to not have one for basketball and they still do not allow participation in NCAA FCS football playoffs.

I could see a few D3/2/Mid-Major conferences cancelling conference tournaments, particularly if schools in those conferences begin to "knee-jerk." Outside of that, I figure that things will go on as planned. I agree with optimaltennis' reasons. And, since tennis is definitely not a revenue-producing sport, cancelling a conference tournament (as well as dual meets here and there) are a savings to the athletic department.

I was set to play nationals at BNP IW the same time as the oracle college challenge. There are no crowds for either event and they cancelled it. Barely anyone watches those, you could count on 2 hands the spectators and it's cancelled. I think they'll cancel, especially if this thing is exponential as they say it is.

Are you sure about that "zero" prediction. Have you been following the news for the last week?

That's why I said close to zero. Based on what we was public at the time (as well as some things that are not), that was the most likely outcome.

However, given the Ivy League, while not one of the P5 leagues, a league with some sway, and its actions today, I would not be surprised if ALL spring sports (e.g. lax, baseball) get canceled. There is some momentum for this due to almost ZERO TV money after March Madness. The NCAA/conferences will have gotten 99% of its annual TV money by the end of March Madness. Sure host cities get screwed (Final Four looked to pump close to $150MM to Atlanta economy alone), but it saves the TV money/relationship.

not what I’m hearing...the 2020 season is scrapped. No plans to try and make it up.
this makes me very angry. lets all go to the front lawn of NCAA and complain, this was the year for the Cardinal. Stanford wins by default if they wont make it up

Stanford was a nice team but no where near close to the big boys. Maybe next year for your thinking but will be the same story in 2021. The cardinal days are over.

It is what it is. I had half of my officiating schedule drop off the planet last week. Again, it is what it is. Though, I kinda wonder if, in the long run, this is a financially positive situation for most every university that offers college tennis. The power five schools, and even others, to a degree, spend amounts of money on tennis, with no financial return.

yup, same here, really hurts the pocketbook and family plans. I hope this will blow over and get going again no later than May.

I feel badly for coaches, be it college or high school, who were ready to have a "career season," only to see it disappear.
