My bad. LOL :-D

I used to be in a bad place about 9-11 years ago where I lived on fast food. I remember going to Whataburger and getting a double burger with two orders of fries and a large Barq's Root Beer. When I started to change my life around in 2012, I realized just how horrible that was. From March 17, 2012 until near the end of 2013 or beginning of 2014, I went from 337 pounds to between 165-175.

Yeah, I remember seeing your epic transformation. That was something special.

Even a hamburger is healthy done right, as is a hot dog with sauerkraut on a half roll.

Sourdough pizza is perfectly healthy. Just don't eat a lot if you're on a diet.

Fries are also healthy, particularly done in the oven, but again in moderation.

Fast food is food badly done made 'exciting' with sugar, salt, corn syrup, etc.

Avocados? Peant Butter? Bananas? Apples?

Just for once, why can't a food that's popular be considered healthy?

I am a certified nutritionist, it is a part of my professional job, so I understand many things he does. You are right in that it does seem just a little unusual for an athlete, but overall the foundation he is looking at is his detoxification and reducing digestive inflammation, which are very important factors to anyone not just athletes.
I thought ‘detoxification‘ was one of those psuedoscientific buzzwords that nutritionists avoided.

One of many reasons why I support Nole. I've been on a plant based diet for a couple of years now. Benefits have been increased energy, mental clarity and focus, a more glowing complexion and youthful appearance, and improved athletic performance.

Similar here. Its endeared him a bit more to me.

Ive not eaten meat in years, don't miss it either, and its never affected my performance in the gym or with muscle mass etc.

I look better in my 30s, and am stronger than ever, compared to my younger self, eating tons of steak etc for the sake of 'protein'.

More people will eventually realize that genetics matter more than anything when they chase this myth that they need to eat meat etc to get the gains .

There's this Pita bread called Joe's Flax Pita bread that we use to make Pizza. With home made sauce and 1/4 cup of shredded cheese it comes to around 160-180 calories per Pita pizza. 2 of them are extremely filling. I can't finish 3. So for around 400 to 500 calories, dinner is taken care of and it tastes really good too.

Hemp seed is great on gluten free crackers with some hommus.

Toasted pepitas on sourdough with some avocado is the luxury version :)

Both are great eating!

Watching that Djokovic video is making me as hungry as the @bobleenov1963 thread where he was mentioning how many avocados his family was eating per day.

LOL... My family is still eating the same amount of avocado today just like we did when I first posted that. I added a little bit of Manuka honey on top of the avocado. It tastes so........ good :)

Because decades of being drip fed a high sugar/fat processed food diet, has fooled the brain into liking that **** / it's addictive.
Big business do it because the ingredients are cheap and one is hooked, until a premature death [emoji846]

One has no doubt forgotten what proper food tastes like.
Recall eating a Sunday meal at a farm restaurant in which every item on the menu was grown/raised on the farm. Meh, Kept waiting for that Popeyes or KFC kinda seasoning. Forgotten what fresh food tastes like.

Gut cleansing is a vital part in first preventing many inflammatory responses in the body, such as intolerance to wheat, to gluten, to dairy, helps prevent leaky gut syndrome also. The majority of your immune system resides around your intestinal tract, you have large amounts of T-lymhocytes, antibodies and macrophages, hence the slight disturbance of the gut can lead to a range of problems...this includes weight gain among other things. The first thing that nutritionists often look at and has been the case with me and my clients is how healthy is the gut, as that is the interface between in the inside world and outside world where digestive absorption takes place. You cannnot have sound nutrition if you efficiency to absorb nutrients is impaired. Detoxifying is basically cleaning everything out, and then allowing your body to restart its engines.

I read he shares the same dietician as Tom Brady, the famous QB. That dietician for some reason believes tomatoes are toxic

“Let’s be clear,” says Edzard Ernst, emeritus professor of complementary medicine at Exeter University, “there are two types of detox: one is respectable and the other isn’t.” The respectable one, he says, is the medical treatment of people with life-threatening drug addictions. “The other is the word being hijacked by entrepreneurs, quacks and charlatans to sell a bogus treatment that allegedly detoxifies your body of toxins you’re supposed to have accumulated.”

I can't afford any foods like Subway any more. I just pay my local green grocery each week and they provide boxes of produce and some protein sources like nuts, pressed soybeans, hempseed, pepitas, chic peas, black beans etc etc.

I really miss being able to have hot sauces on vegetables and tempeh.

The only sauces I make now are chilli jam, hommus, and tahini which is nowhere near as good lol.

After reading almost 3 pages of posts, I'm surprised nobody mentioned that Nole is big into Wim Hof method.

Please look up Wim Hof, the Ice Man, and find out more about his achievements. Not only Wim is vegan, he is OMAD!!!

I went onto a more veggie diet a few years back but still eat meat/fish few meals a week I can vouch for feeling healthier, looking healthier and younger, weight loss. That said I always have one cheat day which consists of anything and everything you can think of burgers, pizzas, ice cream donut, chocs etc etc

Protein wise variety of options these days, whey protein, pea protein (choc flavour works well), rice protein (nasty but down it), hemp protein (horrific in a shake), as well as the obvious sources eggs, lentils chickpeas etc.

Recommend it for the ageing tennis player
