Yes, there will be a darker color for the Open. It's an Agassi-inspired colorway with black, white, hot like and Fushcia. Basically the colors from his '90 Open outfit and the pattern is on the upoer. Plus the flaming ball logo. It's really cool!!!

Yes.... but I think it is slated for the Spring 2021 lineup. It'll be black upper with a white midsole and sole. Swoosh will be white, too.

I'm going to be spending more on Nike gear in the next 6 months than I have in the last 6 years. It's great to see them releasing these heritage concepts.
It harks back to a time when some of the world's most talented designers were working in Nike's tennis department.
Thanks for steering me that way, that was a good video. Still love them, but curious about GP.

Pretty sure they said that was an early sample and that was why they revised the images on their site bc Nike's final design was the one with no green.

Well I watched that and wondered if it were possible to increase jump height by 20-30% or sprint speed by up to 10% using special shoes. I remember there was a shoe that was banned by the NBA about 10 years ago, but nothing with those margins. While I felt the GPT had good response and cushioning, I certainly don't feel any faster. Nor did my serve feel like I grew an extra 2". I mean maybe you get 1-3% improvement, based on the vaporfly performance, but double digits because of a doublestacked zoom air? That's too much of a stretch!

I got the shoes this Wednesday and wore them for 4 hours playing over the course of two days. Cushioning on these shoes are like the Zoom Zero but the added midsole cushion makes them even more plush. Fit is more snug but the material is pretty soft and looks better than the material in the Zoom Zero. When I wore the Zoom Zero, the side would rub against my smaller toe giving me blisters especially when making complete stop and changing direction. These feel a bit more snug than the Zoom Zero but I don't have the toe jabbing issue.
The shoe has a more tapered heel than the Zoom Zero which makes it feel less clunky and reduces the rocking effect.
The breathes well even in hot weather as it was in the 90s when I played with them for two hours and didn't feel hot wearing them.
I normally wear basketball shoes to play tennis for the impact protection, responsiveness, low to the ground feel, and Nike puts their top technology in their signature basketball shoes. Nike is finally incorporating some needed technology into their tennis shoes. I will need to try test for a few more hitting sessions to see how they feel.

Same size but from what others have mention if you have a wide foot, maybe you might need to go half size bigger.

No actually. Basketball shoes I’ve felt generally are lighter because the outsoles aren’t meant for outside play anymore. I’ve played tennis sometimes in Kyrie’s, and they were fun. The problem is the outsoles on modern shoes aren’t built for outdoor play, so they aren’t durable. But they are lighter because of it.

Basketball shoes tend to be fantastic for clay court play. They almost always have type of herringbone pattern.
PLus, the forefoot cushioning in them tends to be the manufactuers latest tech, too. Tennis has been an afterthought when it comes to premium cushioning by Nike, Adidas, etc.

Could I ask a favor? If anyone has these, the Zoom Cage 4 & a pair of Vapor X , could you put them side to side with the heels against a wall? That way I can see how the length is on the GP Turbo. I'm not going to be able to try them on so I'll have to wing it. I wet tts on the ZC4 and up .5 on my Vapor X. Thank you to anyone who could do this for me!

Played singles today for 2 hrs. The toe fit is narrower than the zoom, and more importantly, the angle on the medial (inside) of the toe box is slightly more offline, forcing my big toe to bend inward at the metatarsophalangeal joint more than the ZZ, on hard stops, creating a hallus valgus (bunion like) feeling. I have pretty straight midline toes so I am a little sensitive. I was wearing a slightly thicker sock and playing in the day so my feet may have expanded as well, Seems this shoe is either going back to Nike or relegated to night play with thin socks. I think it would better fit those with moreton's toe type feet better.
Regarding breathability, I felt it was better breathing than the ZZ. I remember the Cage4 to be warm but not enough to compare with the GPT. It is not as good as the Vapor X Knit.

You can't go by that. The outsole design is quite different and you won't see the difference as clearly, especially the interior fit. It's not just the length, but how the toe box tapers and what your foot shape is. What I usually do is go to NDC and download their top view pics and superimpose them to see the toe shape, if my local Nike Town store doesn't have the shoe in stock. The pics are of the same shoe size, usually to the same scale and lens. Having black toe nails for the D1 years in sponsored shoes, I refuse to let the shoe dictate my foot comfort, no matter what it looks like and who wears it!

Oh no. I hate to read that @Sardines . A few years ago adidas made se shoe called the Tennis Energy Boost. It too had a toe box that squeezed the big toe inward. I had great hope for that shoe as it had a full length boost midsole. I wanted to like it but it had a terrible toe box design. I returned it.

Well, I appreciate your opinion, but when someone on Niketalk posted the length difference between the ZC4 & the Vapor X, it shows me that had I bought the same size in my Vapor X, it would have been too long and needed to go back. So I went .5 down and they are perfect. For me it's length. I am the type who can't wear sneakers when my toes are at the end.
I need a thumbnail's width from the end of my big toe on my larger foot to the end. I have a hammertoe on the big toe due to several breaks and the knuckle is rather tall. So if the toebox is low, the added length, even slightly, will give me the slight wiggle room I need. If I can't wiggle my toes in my shoes, my feet go numb (sleep) and it's an annoying feeling. This is why I at least like to see the length. Everyone said go TTS on the Vapor X. I tried a pair on and my tts was too short. An 11.5 was perfect and I had the wiggle room I needed. I'll need to know how the Turbo will be in terms of length and toebox height. I'll probably go up .5 if they run narrow. I don't have wide feet but with the big toe issue, the .5 size up will give the slightly extra volume for me.

It may not do that for you. I have a very straight big toe, so I'm quite sensitive to more tapered medial sides in shoes.

Shoes feel a bit tight but in a good way like my foot is in a glove. Feels real good padding wide but doesn’t seem to flex much when I stand on toes because insole is quite thick. Def heavier than zoom zero almost feels weight wise like GR8. Quite high off the ground.

The "test" that the poster ran regarding push-off/speed is puzzling. Assuming there is no error with the timekeeping (a big if), the experiment as presented is flawed: if he ran all five suicides on the same day, that's obviously going to influence the result; or, if he ran them each on a different day, that's also going to affect the results. To say that that shoe makes a player faster would need to be shown with data from a much larger pool of players.

I logged another 4 sets with these shoes and the traction is very solid. Cushion is great but I starting to find an issue with stability. My right foot kinda got caught and rolled my ankle while backpedaling for an overhead. I think the higher off the ground feel make it a bit more unstable than what I am use and compared to the Air Jordan 34s which are super stable and comfortable but just lack durability.
Nike address some of the issues with the Zoom Zero in terms of offering better cushioning and material. They are less clunky that the Zoom Zero but still not there in terms of stability compared to basketball shoes.

Agree with @Sardines on this.
Another issue is that the Zoom VC4 has a huge amount of internal padding which kind of throws things off in a comparison using exterior views of the shoes.
Any chance you can order mutliple sizes and return the ill-fitting ones? Might be the best way to go.
The only issue you might have there is that the GP is selling like crazy (at least that's the situation here in Australia) and extended sizes are already starting to thin out of the first colourway (not sure how much of an issue it is - I'm sure restocks are planned).

Seeing that there really isn't much exposed mesh on the toe of this shoe and it already has a modified herringbone pattern in the sole, i doubt that Nike will make a clay version.
