Rafa will have no issue with this, he has stayed in the Olympic Village with other athletes. But of course, Rafa is a totally different personality than the other guy in the poll.

Novak didn’t handle to live in a huge house on his own in NY, special treatment deluxe compared to all the others.
Maybe he will handle the hotel. Who knows.

For Rafa? I think for him it’s rather fun to stay in a hotel.

COVID-19 has led to so many positive societal changes.
No more demeaning unsanitary towel fetching. Machines replacing elderly linespeople (except for Joker matches).
Virtual fans on the Fan Cam. Communistic hotel accomodations. End of air travel (Greta was right).
And of course the development of the Bio-Secure Tournament Bubb!e.

I personally don’t like virtual fans. Even though they are there, there is nothing like real fans and being at the real thing. That’s one of the many reasons why the NBA is flopping right now.

I wonder how Rafa would react in that situation.

I don’t see what’s the problem here. They are staying in hotels all the time during season.
The problem is that none of the top players stay in hotels during slams. The Big Three all rent houses in Wimbledon (Rafa and Roger have used the same houses since 2007-08). They all rent houses during the USO and the AO. The only exception is that Rafa has stayed in a deluxe hotel during RG. Fed and Djoker always stay in rented mansions at RG. Even in non-slams, Fed and Rafa rent homes in Cincy, Toronto and Rome, to name a few. And at IW, Rafa stays with at Ellison's guest house and Fed stays in a compound Larry loans him.

It’s rare these primadonnas stay in hotels.
They even have their own drivers there, same every year. From my years in Wimbledon I learned a thing or two about their living situations and what they did when no playing. I used to live close to Federers house in Wimbledon and met many who were dealing with these players. I was also in a tennis club many pro practiced before Wimbledon.
The big 3 are super spoiled and live VERY comfortable when they travel. They want their own kitchen and cooks. They want to stay in a huge house w the team. In the evening they often go out and eat with friends and business partners from the tour. And slams particularly is the big event they meet up with old friends and such.

It will be a huge change for them staying in a hotel w the other players having much less luxury than they are used to.

Well, they have no choice, so they'll both have to deal with it. Nadal has no airs or graces about him, so I can't see him caring at all.

Novak would ordinarily complain a lot, as he is all about special treatment, but after all that's happened recently, I expect he will keep his mouth shut and not make much noise about the accommodations.

USO Rafa usually stays in St Regis he brings their monogrammed towel on the court

Fed stays in a house for USO he even has his towels picked out beforehand

Novak will get so frustrated he will throw something which will accidentally hit Rafa in the throat.

Multiple votes possible!
I see many avoid to vote on Novak.

He's in a real state IMO! I already noted the other day; so much is going on behind the scenes! It's a wonder Djokovic hasn't cracked up completely! So much was expected of him with little regard to the added stress of the time with C-19! He was the President of the ATP Players Union until stepping down recently to lead another entity concerning players' rights and benefits! Being #1 he was under the gun while those same people probably regarded Fedal more important in the grand scheme of things!

Djokovic will hit a ball at a waiter out of frustration and be arrested and disqualified from the FO.

Maybe now people expect less from him and understand the stress he is under. Also the new players association maybe cooled down a bit, who wants to join that now. Maybe having less pressure on his shoulders will do wonders for him.

Be careful what you wish for, Ghosty. Do you really want an in-form and hungry Djokovic playing Rafa in the RG final in less than a month? None of us know how well Rafa will bounce back from the layoff or adapt to the Fall conditions on Chatrier.

I’m not wishing for it! Haha
Im just being realistic. Also, I don’t think Novak’s game is that great for clay anymore.
im not worried for Rafa playing clay in fall, that’s what’s he is doing right now and prepared. If Rafa had played USO I would be more worried since less preparation. On the other hand I wished he had played USO. Impossible choice for me, but I trust Rafa knows what’s best for him, I’ve learned to stop doubting him so much, he has come so far and I don’t know anything about how it’s to be him and a pro player.

Eh, I think it will be fine. They can both see that it's just something that needs to be done - and not like it's unlivable conditions or anything.

It's like flying Economy - not something I would do normally, and not something I particularly like to do - but if need be, will just sit tight and deal with it

Rafa seems more antisocial than Novak to me

1000%

But Rafa has a lot more self-control.

Joker has survived Clinton's bombing of Yugoslavia.
Any other questions?

And yet he's been victimized by a 50-year-old lineswoman, to hear you tell it.

I do not think you understand the kind of personality we are dealing with here.

They don't get where they are by having self-awareness. They get where they are by doubling down on things that seem ridiculous to outsiders. Right now, rather than laying out a plan to rehabilitate Djok's image...his family/team are plotting his revenge.

$100 says he will create another controversy, most likely by leaving the hotel.

Maybe now people expect less from him and understand the stress he is under. Also the new players association maybe cooled down a bit, who wants to join that now. Maybe having less pressure on his shoulders will do wonders for him.

Are you kidding? The stress he is under? That is all of his own making. He is not a sympathetic figure here. He has done this all to himself.

like the others said hes not good at explaining his actions, being PC like roger/rafa, etc.. without shooting himself in the foot..
the question tho is it good for someone like this to really be trying to lead a new players association?

Exactly

Djokovic will handle it fine as doesn't come from a privileged background

Spoilt clay brat will throw tantrums throughout the tournament and make organizers give me favorable scheduling like we saw last year

Rafa sometimes does Economy class, on his own. Other passengers are like shocked :D

Rafa should be ok but Djokovic and all those who have been in America may find it tough. Those guys will have been locked up for close to 6 weeks bar playing and travelling. Clay requires patience and im expecting to see some surprising results on the clay.
Djokovic stayed in a private complex in NY which cost him a fortune. That is not allowed in Paris so i am not totally convinced he is going to play. Also with france having a huge 2nd spike we may see a few players withdraw.

it's not even about Rafa.

Some people are of opinion that the lady almost died on court when Djokovic hit her wid less speed than Rafa did. The lady need prayers and empathy. I agree

And then the same people believe , Djokovic didnt get hit here and he was wrong to feel annoyed about it right there. Instead Djokovic should have kissed Rafa right there . Djokovic is such a fake u know ..

If you disagree ,you are a hater...
