Zverev: "I'm in the final of a Grand Slam. The two best players in the world are going to be playing on court."

Sorry Z but that was a really stupid thing to say. You've had a cake walk draw and still struggled to beat Coric, Shapo and PCB - not exactly a murderer's row of the ATP. You didn't even look that great against Mannarino, Nakishima or Anderson either. Trying winning something first.

I don't think its unfair to say that Thiem and Sascha have surmounted Nadal/Djoker at this point. They are current gen, Rafa and Novak are old gen.

Is Zverev high? Did he forget is the *one* playing the final on sunday and not Djokovic?

Someone shake him back to the real world or else he will forget to turn up and we will have the first no show slam Final.

Zverev is getting himself pumped by trolling a little. Nothing wrong with it :D
It would be great for the game if he became a troll. And by "game", I mean his game. I bet villains have much less nerves on second serves.

For the sake of his career in the long term, Zverev needs to lose this match. If he wins in his first grand slam final, his ego will be impossible to control.

Currently? He hasn’t won a hard court slam since 2018, while Nadal literally won last year’s USO.

Plus, having had back-to-back knee surgeries this year, Fed isn't on any kind of court right now. He's too busy making Instagram videos and eating chocolate, while Nadal is preparing to tie his Slam record.

Nadal is better against weaker opponents, I'll give him that

He's probably so clueless that he doesn't know what he said is very egotistical, very far from humility. Also comes from a generation where the value of humility is rarely remembered.

Yeah, too bad they can't both win. I think Thiem deserves it more but Zverev kind of needs this. I just hope neither one of these guys nor Medvedev go slamless in their careers. They all should win slams.
I'm a little torn myself. Thiem has worked his tail off for a long time and I like his game too. I like it much more than Zverev's. Thiem needs some help up there though. I don't think just he and Med can dethrone Djokovic/Nadal alone. Imo that's where Zverev has a chance now to gain some confidence and get over things like the yips that you mentioned. Go for more on his FH and maybe not be afraid or indecisive at the net. Most of his problem is mental.

Yeah, the h2h says it all.
I was just tryna ruffle some feathers. I think Nadal could be considered a better player than Federer currently as Nadal rarely loses to next gen, though Thiem may be changing that. I'd take Fed in a head to head matchup on grass or hardcourt, though I would be very worried about the match.

At least one of these two will win a slam and gain some confidence. If Thiem wins and goes on to completely dominate, Fed's grand slam record could be saved.
