This man won 4 Slams in a row. Yeah, yeah, the weak era.

This man won 3 Slams in a row 3 times.

This man dominated AO, Wimb and YEC.

This man managed to win 3 Slams in a season facing the tough competition.

This man frustrates @Lleytonstation
I’m impressed with 2011 because that puts him in the GOAT debate if he catches up in slams. Consistently Beat 2 other ATGs in their primes. He has the tiebreaker records if he ties Nadal in slams.

The other stuff doesn’t separate him from other GOAT candidates considering the era caliber. Also Feds caveat in 04-06.

2011 Fed is not Prime Fed.
It’s slightly late prime but not 2015 Fed that prime Novak was beating up on. I’d say Feds full prime was 04-10.

The beatings against old Fed and the lost gen in 2015 was not that impressive. But 2011 I give him credit.

2011 is peak Nadal and prime Federer. Just look at their performance.

Fed: AO semi (would have won without Djokovic), RG final and USO semi (lost to Djoko again).

Nad: Needless to say. Could have won 3/4 Slam without Djokovic.

Of course, some people here can not deal with the fact that 2011 Nole is the most impressive performance in the OE, but it's purely FACT.

Saying it as the biggest Sampras fan on earth.

Peak Fed: 04-09
Prime Fed: 03-12
Peak Nadal 07-13
Prime Nadal 05-13, physically fell off in 14
Both peaks better towards the front half

2011 is by far Djokovic’s most impressive achievement for sure, due to competition.

2015-16 his level was great but all of his rivals were past their best including Murray who never recaptured the 12-13 form.

That’s 100% false. Fed does not win 3 slams in 2011 without Djokovic. Fed lost to Nadal at the FO and Tsonga at Wimbledon. Fed probably wins the AO. Nadal was injured at the AO. Nadal was in much better form at the 2011 USO. Nadal only dropped 1 set entering the final. I don’t think Federer gets by Nadal at the USO. That’s at best a coin flip. Nadal was in similar form at the 2012 AO and he took out Federer in the semis. And the AO is Nadal’s worst event.

Federer walks away with 1 slam in 2011 without Djoker in the mix is my gut there.

And since we are talking about backing out 1 player, then Fed likely wins 2 CYGSs in a row without Nadal in the mix. Of course, that makes no sense to go back in time and back out a player.

That being said, Djoker’s form was incredible in 2011. There’s no doubt. That year, Djoker did show ATG tennis for several months in end. That’s when he told the world that he will one day enter the GOAT conversation. Djoker was also a beast in 2012 and he walked away world #1 that year as well. He was rather unlucky that Fed turned back the block at Wimbeldon that year and that Murray played the best slam match of his career at the USO. Djoker still ended the year world #1. Back to back YE#1 is very tough to do. Nadal’s 2017-18 stint is the only time he pulled off back to back world #1s. It’s that tough.

Remember Djokovic finished that four slams in a row feat beating Murray.
Not prime Nadal or Federer. Murray.

W final Federer USO final Federer AO semifinal Federer. Had Federer played FO that year perhaps 4 slams in a row beating Federer along they way...in addition to winning 4 majors in a row

Post peak Federer mind.
Not like what Nadal did winning RG'08, Wim '08 and AO '09 beating peak Federer in each final.

I can't exactly remember when the surfaces/balls changed, but in 2011-2012 AO was as good for Rafa as USO, if not better.

False? I said without Djokovic, Nad would have won 3/4 Slam and the remaining (AO) went to Federer. I think you did not read my post carefully.

However, 1 Slam + 2 other finals would still be an incredible performance considering most of us agree that 2011 competition was very strong. It's just late prime (but still prime) Federer ran into peak Nadal + peak Djokovic.

Many want to think that 2011 was post-prime Federer and post peak Nadal to devalue Djokovic's feat. It's ridiculous. Stats don't lie.

2011 USO was a faster HC than AO and Rafa was in worse form there. Logically speaking Fed should be favourite. Knowing his slam troubles against Nadal you’re looking at 50/50

2011-2012 Federer was still very good but lacked the consistent day in day our level. His movement had declined a bit too.

Prime years
Djokovic 2011-16-peak 11&15
Federer 2004-09-peak 04&06
Nadal 2008-13-peak 2010

Nadal was prime since 05 and Djokovic since 07-08. Mental, racquet, and coaching issues prevented Djokovic from having as good a run from Madrid 09-end of 10.

Prime usually refers to a physical window, whereas peak them focuses on the highest level heads within that window. 2011-16 is peak Djokovic, not prime Djokovic

Then what is prime Djokovic?Every year since 2007 except 2017?

@Lleytonstation was frustrated? Didn't know that was even possible  For that reason alone, Djokovic deserves top spot! :p

Mid 07-Mid 16. 17-20 are the inflation era for fedalovic. Djokovic is still cleaning up the **** tier competition but physically he’s not dominating them with power or stamina like he was before. With normal changing of the guard, talented youngsters would have exploited their vulnerabilities and stopped them from winning the biggest titles in these past few years.

FWIW, Roddick disagrees with me and said yes, we’re still watching prime Djokovic all these years ago and he implied that it was unprecedented.

Sorry I just can't call 07-10 Djokovic prime.Only prime year there is maybe 08.Also 05-07 Nadal isn't prime either.Clay prime yes,but not overall. Description for this is that these are the preview years of future ATGs so their best stuff is not there yet.

Nadal was never as good on clay (05-08) and grass (07-08) again as he was then. He only improved on HC afterwards. He also never moved as well again after Madrid 09. Pretty open and shut case that he was in his physical prime.

Djokovic from mid 07-mid 09 was stopped again and again by peak Fedal. Without them he wins a number of slams and masters. He went off the rails mentally, changed racquets, and had some coaching issues for 1-1.5 years in between, but was definitely in prime at minimum starting in 08.

2011-16 were his peak years, similar to Federer 04-09 and Nadal 07-13

Novak amassed slams at a time when 2 ATGs were already ahead of him and had to win beating one or both along the way most times.

And he’s the only guy since Laver to hold all 4 at the same time. All this after he had an almost Lendl like start trying to win a slam period.

That calls for massive massive respect. He very well might go down as the slam record holder over Rafa when all is said and done.

I wish he’d receive more love from tennis fans (even though I think the undersog status really helped him) but his team and his own actions on court are greatly to blame.
