Del Potro

Does anyone here think Juan Martin Del Potro is a force to be reckoned with in the future?? Alot of talk has gone on about this kid, and i think the match against Nadal proves it. Even though he lost, he will surely develop as he is only 18.

I can't say for sure yet because I didn't watch him play many times but it's still a bit early to say since he has a history of injuries and that might affect his career.

He's so tall. He hasn't made use of his height. His serve can be stronger.

I like his groundstrokes. But still got much room to improve.

Yeah totally agree. I guess time will tell. Hope he isn't plagued by injuries, because he seriously is a serious contender for a couple of grandslams.

1) His serve should improve
2) His forehand should improve
3) His mental toughness should improve
4) His fitness should improve

If he succeeds he should be a force in the future.

He has an amazing two handed cross court backhand, that almost won him the first set yesterday, till he choked..

If he develops a complete game,he will be dangerous..

I've been high on him since August when I saw him at the US Open qualies. Hits the ball with a lot of flair... not a mindless basher... and hits more of a hard court type ball than the other Argentines. Fitness and movement are the suspect parts, but the rest of his game is top 10 potential.

his bh is a massive weapon. he just needs to be out there gaining some experince. a tip: he is not a claycourter.

Being top 60 atp, at age 18 is always a good sign, I think he will be top ten with a year and a half. The biggest problem I see with him is his height, ala Todd Martin and injuries may come into play. As well movement seems to be an issue, although for a big guy its not that bad.

I think he'll improve within the next year or so, and then he'll certainly be a dangerous opponent. He also needs to work on those skinny legs of his. :p

If he improves his serve he's a carbon copy of Berdych. Both have big flat backhands and pretty good forehands with flat pace. They even have similar builds and height.
