Nadal evades Thiem in his half. If Medvedev loses early (won't be surprised), we could see Nadal going all the way to the Final without any trouble. All he has to hope is Thiem and Djokovic kill each other on the court with Thiem prevailing to the Final

New season. Anything can happen. I think (in varying degrees) everyone from #3-#8 are threats to Nadal on hard courts.

This Andy Murray and that Andy Murray are not the same person. don't care about his absence.

Fed is the only big loss.

Tennys? LoL.

Big four are all it matters.

And Nadal is a threat to everybody on hardcourts.
Nadal wasn't even in form last year at the AO, and Thiem still needed to win 3 tiebreakers, 76 76 46 76!
So epic to see Nadal win his first AO since 2009, and a tribute to his surreal longevity.

An even bigger threat ;)

I'm not disparaging Nadal when I say that, just that the pack is closing, especially on hard court.

And Djokovic's baby is the AO, and he's on the brink of losing to Thiem at the AO!
Last year was the first time Djokovic has ever been down 2-sets-to-1 in an AO Final, and then won the 5th Set 6-4!

Looks fairly balanced, nadal needs to avoid goffin, fognini in r16 as they have proven to be dangerous for him in the past, 5-8 seeds are decent and all will make for decent qf opponents maybe schwarzty less so but I feel we could easily see top 4 reaching semis or maybe atleast 3 of them, non seeded there are dangers like sinner, kyrgios etc but lets see if they fall in any big section of the draw although I think with all the pressure on aus open organizers to deliver a big one I see big matchups in 1st or 2nd rounds

All pretty plausible actually.

There is no way that big 3 can lose a match until SF with this kind of players .

Why do we need a first week at majors ?

interested to see how Krajinovic performs, he sort of had a breakthrough year last year with some good wins against Felix, Thiem, Rublev

btw, love the way you broke these up, by ranking

idk, not seen anyone do it like this before

sense makes (y)

Thiem and Medvedev are but not sure about the others. Schwartzman is definitely not beating Nadal at a slam, neither is Rublev. Zverev can cause trouble only if he can find a way to reach the big 3 which he usually doesn't do, and Nadal is a nightmare-ish matchup for Stefanos esp in a BO5

It could be nadal vs Thiem in the SF as well, sir.
Or it may happen that none of 3 make it to the later stages.

I definitely agree Zverev is more dangerous than Tsitsipas who is more dangerous than Rublev and Schwartzman. I think I'd give Schwartzman maybe a 1/15 chance of upsetting any of the top 4, Nadal even less so. Rublev maybe 1/12, Tsitsipas maybe 1/4 or 1/5, Zverev 1/3, maybe 2/5.
