Good Point Videos

Been trying to find some good play YT vids and thought it would be good to start a thread (since most know I like video).

First up, this vid has some great points.
On a side note, drives me NUTS in mixed when guys don't let their counterparts play.

Post what you find!

i pooh-poohed pball, but gotta admit those are some insane points, and looks fun & arguably more social.

I have only played a handful of times. I get easily bored with the strategy, which is why I will never make it to high levels. Those long touch volley rallies waiting for the ball to come up just a few more inches and be attackable is like watching a no-hitter in baseball. We do a bit of variation, playing with a red U6 tennis ball and that removes the annoying noise and gives a little more pace.

But we do have a solid PB community, even through this last year. Lots of sponsored events. They tooks what use to be our park tennis courts right by the big tennis facility and made a great PB facility, so we don't have PB ruining the tennis area. Some of the peeps around our courts.

PB will replace tennis. I've been to ATP tennis matches that had fewer spectators.

It won't replace tennis at all. There isn't enough excitement and pace there to be a great spectator sports. It will be a popular rec sport though because it is condensed space and much easier for less athletic folks to get into.

Agree with your side note. Prefer mixed but so annoyed when my male partner unexpectedly crosses in front of me, doesn't finish the point & leaves a large hole in the process.

I've had female partners that step in front of my forehand and pop up a nice sitter that then gets slammed down my throat, so it goes both ways.
Part of it is how often you play with someone who's like minded, and as tennis players we know to switch when partners are drawn out of position.
However it is surprising to see how often the pros use the guy 3/4 gal 1/4 court coverage, especially when the women are at the top of their divisions.
At the pick up games levels if the teams aren't matched up evenly then the opponents can hit everything to the weakest player and you may not get a ball to hit
for several points unless it's to return serve.

Ya, that's doubles 101.......unless you have a lefty partner on the deuce/even side, who should be able to put it away ;)

Wow ... you could literally charge overheads. 8-B

Two hands on a paddle looks a bit whack.

I was thinking what @ChaelAZ said ... get a ball somewhere between that ball and a tennis ball. These videos look 90+% defense weighted ... a dtl winner should actually be a dtl winner. 8-B

All kidding aside ... props to anyone that gets to that level in any game/sport. (y)

Much like racquetball will replace squash.

And NASCAR will replace F1.

Americans always seem to think their sports will achieve worldwide popularity and that is rarely the case. The British have done a far better job creating sports with worldwide appeal (golf, tennis, rugby, soccer, squash).

Guess Pickleball has taken off in the US like Table Tennis took off in China. Interesting to see nations go crazy over an activity while the rest of the world shrugs.

BTW loved the 2HBH with the PB paddle. Is it time to start the 1HBH vs 2HBH debate?
