Since Djokovic's comeback in 2018

He's had one decent SF opponent in slams.

2018 WC - Nadal
2018 USO - Personal pigeon Nishikori
2019 AO - Lucas friggin Pouille
2019 WC - Slipped through draw RBA
2020 AO - Groinerer/verge of knee surgery Fed
2021 AO - Blowed out Asics Karetsev

That's just the Semis not counting Lifelong wrist problems Delpo, Injured Nadal, Lumbering Anderson, Choking Thiem, Over hyped/Unorthodox Medvedev, and Ancient Federer in Finals.

His final opponents make up for it.

Peak Nadal on HC
Peak/Prime Federer at Wimbledon
Peak Thiem on HC
Red hot peak Medvedev who most in here predicted as favourite

More confirmation Djokovic is a distant 3rd this era. Add to that he gets the luxury of 6 out if 9 M1000s on his best surface (federer has 0) and half the slams on his best surface (djokovic fans are adamant AO and USO play the same) and is still trailing in Majors and only one ahead of Nadal at M1000 level and not that far ahead of Federer i think the reality is there is a Big 2 then Djokovic then Murray Wawrinka delpo cilic etc.

If anything, please blame roger and thiem for not taking their chances when they had; please don't insult a legend of the game, sir.

Nah jks. :D

Meanwhile Federer:

W17 - Near finished Berdych
W17 - Blistered Cilic
AO 18 - Blistered Chung
AO 18 - Indoor, mentally defeated Cilic

:sneaky:

and this is not even taking account of his weaker opponents from 2004-2007. ;)

LMAO! I don't think OP is Fed fan maybe Nads fan, the embarrassment would be to much if he was Fed fan.
That's funny haha.
Some of Federer semi opponents in 04-07:
Roddick
Grosjean
Henman
Kiefer
Bjorkman
Gasquet
Regardless of what anyone thinks of these players, one fact remains. Federer was at his peak destroying everyone in sight. Djokovic is barely skating by poor af comp in his mid 30's.

Sure but that's very different from a qualifier, I would hope?

And I don't see how the likes of Anderson are any better btw.
A slam final is also very different from a slam semi-final. What's up with this obvious and meaningless point?

They were not unseeded mugs for starters.

Federer beat two Wimbledon finalists, one from the previous year (Raonic)at 2017 Wimbledon. Chung beat Djokovic and Cilic was beating Nadal before his mystery injury.

That says more about the top players who lost before the semis than it does Novak. So I’m not sure what the goal is here.

You sound worried. You know Fed is ending up third wheel so you trying to now play down Novak’s success saying he had weak draws. The Big 3 all had a mix of weak and tough draws.

I take it this thread is because it is 310 - 310 now and next monday it is 310 - 311.
This combined with Djokovic now holding the record for most HC majors and winning even more AO titles than Roger did at Wimbledon has made this a very bad week for some Federer fans. What they don't get is that by constantly whining about it just makes Novak's success taste all the more sweet. :giggle:

Well, Djokovic has got more year ending number ones, more HC slams, more weeks at number one all within a short period of time. Add to that he picked up a double careers masters and is now only two slams away from the slam record also.....he is devouring everything at a rapid pace.

Lol, Djokovic fans are those who blame Federer and Nadal for winning in a weak era, but they can't stand when the same arguments are used against Djokovic.

I especially like how draws which are called weak for Nadal are somehow strong for Djokovic.

Schwartzman and Del Potro are very weak opponents in RG 2018. Then they are suddenly strong in Rome 2019, while Tsitsipas is weak. Then in DO 2020 Schwartzman is weak again, while Tsitsipas is suddenly strong. Del Potro is weak in USO 2017 but somehow strong in USO 2018. Thiem is strong in AO 2020 but weak in RG 2018-2019. Should I even continue?

Half of these opinions aren't even espoused by Djokovic fans in the first place, so you're really ranting at nothing here.

Eh, some Djokovic fans will never admit Djokovic had some weak draws. Some of them are even ready to hype 2015 Nadal, that's how much they are ready to fall. But of course all of them went to a full defensive mode after Djokovic was destroyed in RG 2020, and said he played his worst match ever. (any normal tennis fan knows that Djokovic was bad in this final, but CLEARLY better than 2015 RG Nadal)

The clueless types will, of course, but let's not pretend that those folks make up a majority of Djokovic fans.

Since Djokovic's comeback, Nadal was denied first AO and Wimbledon titles in a decade, while Federer has won zilch. Frustration is understandable.

And I don't want to imagine the complaints about the rest of the field if he was destroying them every time instead of "barely skating by them in his 30s" occasionally. Most likely writing off the possibility of him playing well at this age a few years back, now you want to be dismissive. It's ok.

Something wrong here. I remember since his comeback his semi opponents are Kutotitas, Gravibonagis, Vasili Rats and Olexei Mikhailitchenko.
