Nadal 20-20 Federer

Both are widely considered the greatest players of all time. If it ends as it is or say 21-21 would respective fanbases be satisfied or feel an anti climax that it was a draw. Certainly Americans hate test cricket as matches can go 5 days and end a draw.
In this case after almost 20 years the Race could end a draw. Anti-climatic or poetic justice given how great and legendary both are

Just want to see Fed lift Wimbledon one more time. Not too concerned after that.
Id love that too. Federer being out the game for so long makes me realise as a Nadal fan how integral to the game he is. It feels hollow without him.

Plot twist: he wins RG
Well if he did that and beat Rafa doing it not only would he be GOAT but surely greatest sportsperson in history. And if he is playing well i would not say its impossible. Unlikely bit definitely not impossible. He is actually perhaps more competitive v Nadal on clay now than Djokovic if u compare FO202 to FO 2019 matches both had with Rafa

I'm expecting Federer to be a servebot with a pretty backhand when he returns lol.
Yeah his serve is basically the only thing keeping him afloat this high in the game. He can hit a nice forehand every now and then, his slice is epic, and his volleys are still great, but that serve is the real deal.

Guaranteed slam versus highly likely slam win, or are you 100% certain on 21 at the FO this year? :p
I think Nadal most likely wins FO this year but not 100% certain. All it takes is one slip up.

"would respective fanbases be satisfied "

:-D :-D Good one!

I would be, I never thought Nadal would get to 20.

Tough one depends on my mental state.

Easy for me, if Fed winning more means Nadal wins more, so be it. Gimme dat trophy :p

There would be no salt if a particular player played the game the right way without blatant pretending/gamesmanship/assholery.

Wishful thinking OP

Djokovic is a lock for 3+ AO and W minimum, and 1-2 more USO too which puts him at 25 minimum.

Nadal is done off clay, so better hope he wins 6 more RG to have a GOAT claim.

I've wanted it to end in a tie for a few years now. I've grown to admire Roger quite a bit. I think he's the GOAT and Rafa's the greatest force of nature Tennis has ever seen. Them going down as 1A and 1B would be a fitting end to a beautiful rivalry fueled two amazing artists and fighters.

It's quite comfortable to call it a draw, when you're 100+ weeks behind and unable to win the greatest tournament (except GS) of best players. It's like when you realize that you're losing chess game and can't escape checkmate, so you offer a draw, basically pathetic.

Nah I'm good honestly

Goat is such a mirage anyway

Depends on your definition of GOAT. To me, GOAT = most accomplished player, the one who has the biggest achievements. Of course it doesn't mean we can claim he's better than any other player that has ever existed, it's a silly thing to say as it's impossible to verify.

Nadal confirmed Novak at his best is perfect and unbeatable, does that count for something?

Nadal and Federer won the Olympics bud. This is about Nadal and Federer

There's no way a majority of Fed fans would see Nadal as even equal with just 21 Slams considering less weeks at #1, zero WTFs and a glut of French Opens and two powerfully weak draws to grab 2 USOs. I'm speaking the truth here.

Fed fan here. I would based on the h2h and masters titles.

Good for you? The funny thing is even if a halfway reliable poll was conducted (impossible really) I doubt it would mean most Fed fans that I have spoken to across the world over the years would genuinely flip Nadal.

A great example would be Jordan vs. LeBron. There's no way even 20% of Jordan fans that saw him play would ever put LeBron ahead. Federer has enough go to arguments that Nadal at this point in his career won't touch. Like 18 of 19 Finals, three seasons of 3 Slams, consecutive weeks at #1, etc. Having the most titles at 3 of the Slams is another nice caveat. Simply put, it ain't happening.

Pretending YEC doesn't exist is like when you're definitely losing in chess game, you see checkmate is inevitable, but you offer a draw anyway.
Yeah right. A joke format year end exhibition where complete bums have won the latest hostings
