HEAD Extreme 360+ tour club?

More general question: do you think the 285g version (unstrung balance 32,5cm/6 pts HL, swingweight 308g) will be unstable? For a beginner/intermediate girl wanting to learn.

Afaik, there isn't a 285g version of the Extreme Tour. If you're thinking about the Extreme MP Lite, that looks like a nice racket based on the specs, that should be great for a beginner/intermediate girl. I haven't tried the MP Lite, but I have tried the 360 and 360+ versions of the MP an Pro, which def share a common dna, so I'd venture to guess that the MP Lite, that has the same mold, will fall into that category as well :)

Yes! I’m loving the Extreme Tour. I love the feel and the combination of spin and the right amount of power.
Mine is strung with Yonex Poly Tour pro yellow 1.25 (bonus that the color matches) at 22kg.
I did add 2,5 grams of weight total at 12 to balance the overgrip.

I am thinking about adding 5g to the handle as I do prefer little bit more headlight sticks.

I was referring to the MP Lite, yes. Thanks!

Didn't get to play singles with it yet but I played a doubles match and i can tell you that it's really easy to use. Surprisingly stable for the weight. Fast in reaction volleys stable on groundies. Also i really comfortable ride even if you frame the ball impact is completely absorbed and feels dare I say plush. It's strange to explain but it feels firm yet plush. I can see how others called it plush. My initial reaction is this is not plush but it kind of is...

Comparing to say gravity pro, ET is way easier to control for me and use. Way more maneuverable. With gravity pro I find myself overhitting (tough racquet to switch to after using something that helps you out) and really having to focus on racquet head speed I mean feels like a pro racquet. While with et you get 99 percent of the feel in 100 percent easier to use package. Feel that with ET you can have a day off and still play decent while with gravity pro will make you look like a bozo on the court unless you are on.
Only one for me that for now competes with ET is ezone 98 plus and ezone 100. Ez100 felt bulky so really it's between ez98 plus and ET for me right now. Ez98+ serves easier and it's also very unique in that you have 330sw in super easy to use package of around 300gr. But it's extended so it's not going to be for everyone. Ez98 for whatever reason felt not as good as it's extended counterpart.

These are my racket of choice since they were released. Used to use Extreme 360 MP, which was powerful and comfortable, but I prefer these as a little more control.

I have recently toned down the colour though! Just need to get them strung and put the over grip on and all ready to go.

ET is fantastic, using them after I cracked my Pure Aero VS. playing my best tennis with them and enjoying the ability to hit flat or spin on demand.

Leather grip. Trying to find the correct weighting, I've added lead to the top of handle and 10-2 as well to see how that will go. It played fantastic stock but seeing how it takes weight

Can be a bit picky with strings.

I string at 48 as default and fits the frame well

Lynx tour - fantastic control - grey is softer, less control
Confidential - meh, disconnected?
Tour bite 1.20 - meh, stiffer but softens up and moves quickly
BBO - tried at 46, lack of feel, increase needed

Waiting for the rain to stop in Brisbane to test out PTP 1.25. Champagne was doing things I haven't experienced before so if I can find a good tension/weight setup it might be the best. It starts moving quite quickly so it's lucky that it's cheap.

anyone have similar issues with solinco strings? I find that PTP offers much better playability and lynx tour just beats them hands down. They don't seem to last long for me and for the price there are much better options

What are the advantages of the extreme tour over the prestige pro? Prestige pro also 16/19 and somewhat thicker beam 22mm. Prestige pro also quite manouvrable/ fast and because of the higher weight more stable. Is the headsize difference of the ET really noticeable?!

the ET will be MUCH more maneuverable and easier to swing, as it is lighter and has a lower SW.
the ET will have MUCH less stability.
the ET doesn't have much stability in the hoop and is best for 3.0-3.5, and lower paced 4.0, that is just my opinion.

the ET is a very unique offering and should be a GREAT option for MANY players. I just felt that it was pushed around a bit, playing against 4.5 and 5.0 players.
I don't like adding lead tape, so I quickly moved on.

but I do have an affection for it!
1. very HL which I like, could generate very good RHS
2. good feel
3. controlled power
4. forehand was sublime b/c of number three

negatives for me were:
1. not enough stability in the hoop
2. 2hbh didn't work as well as my forehand. my 2hbh is wonderful with my two current loves, the blade v7, gravity tour
3. serve was just ok
4. handle size was "off" it was far too small. I played with two OG for that reason, and it was still a smidge too small, weird right?

but we are all at different levels, playing against different levels, with different likes.

Th ET seems to be a somewhat polarizing racquet so I think if you're interested in it, you're best off trying it out rather than focusing too much on feedback from others. My own experience is vastly different from the above, but both are valid. I play my ET bone stock and while it does wobble every now and then, it's not enough to make me want to mess with adding lead. My 2HBH is the best its ever been and I can hit every spot on serve. I can count the number of 5.0 doubles sets I've lost since moving to the ET last fall on 1 hand. I play singles sets regularly with a 2021 D1 commit and they are almost always 1 break sets either way so for me, the ET is well beyond a 3.0-3.5 level frame.

Like I said, if you're intrigued by the ET the best thing to do is give it a go against some other frames.

Nice. I loved both the EZ100 and 98+ as well. Awesome frames, but in the end I prefer the PA19 by a little bit. The PA feels the best of all of them to me and it has a little more direct pop to it, while the EZ100 is a touch whippier. I agree that the 98+ feels better than the regular 98. Seems to have a little more flex.

The EZ100 is an amazing tweener though. Rivals the PD and PA and it boils down to personal preference.

Out of curiosity what's your string setup?

That would really suck. I feel like wilson did the same with the blade v7. Although some say it was just the base grip that was thinner.

I have two blade v7 and feel the #3 is spot on.
I just got them.

with the #3 on a 2020 ET demo I had last week, the grip was WAY too small.

Yeah I would not pay too much attention with correlating any particular racquet and ntrp rating. I stopped doing that after I watched (several years ago) dude absolutely demolish entire open trounament with 305 gr racquet and 315sw...real eye opener. Now days you have bunch of new crop.of players playing with 305 gr on tour so it's a new way.

Head hawk touch works really well

Switched to the Extreme Tour after using the previous gen Extreme MP.

Helped me move from 4 ish to 4.5 ish (estimation as we don't have that system in the UK. I play in my club's second team, we have 7 teams).

Fantastic frame. Controlled forgiveness is a good way to think of it. Much less power than the rest of the range but I like that, as it means I can string a bit lower.

No arm problems.

But I have added 2g to both 3 and 9 as it seems many others have.

My specs are 330g ish and 330mm ish balance fully strung and loaded with grips etc

Have you tried the 360+ Speed Pro or Gravity Pro... and if so, how do these compare? Cheers

Played with it for the first time today. After having arm issues with the 2020 Ezone 98 (WCSS17 at 45 lbs) due to the stiff upper hoop, it was refreshing to play with the same setup but no arm pain. Loved that part, However I can’t get gloss over the pingy nature of the frame. The Ezone is more muted and the ET is more raw but somehow I prefer the Ezone’s feel. I can get used to how the ET feels over the next couple of weeks but it’s definitely a tad weird or perhaps the sweetspot is smaller. Launch angle is a bit lower than the Ezone as well but mostly similar spacing for the tight 16x19 pattern.

Also, what is the ACTUAL balance of the frame unstrung? Says 1 HL on the frame but everyone who reviewed it says 9 HL and 6 HL strung.

Head means 1 inch headlight with that “1”. If you look at the frame it’s got a mm/IN label next to the 315/1. It’s a silly way to label it though, because no one uses full inches for balance. It’s 9/6 points HL on the usual reference scale.

The whole pts HL is based around inches though, 1pt is 1/8 of an inch.

Head do seem to love rounding the pt system to say 1in though, even when it's not.

The ET is a sneaky good frame. The flex profile is interesting because even though it is 65 RA strung, it has a very flexible shaft. I think that’s what gives it that firmish but comfortable feel. I also enjoy the controlled, predictable response. Well done @Howard H!

To me it's such an interesting addition to the Extreme line. I wonder where Head even got the concept from and what they were targeting.

I kinda regret letting mine go, but it was the wrong grip size.

Hi, I think I saw your comments on the 360+ Speed MP. Could you compare it to the ET, thanks.

The concept could be generated from making a comfortable and faster pure strike. Less plow and power, but more user friendly

The more relevant Gravity comp is the Gravity Tour, in terms of weight.

I have found that 2hbh's suffer with headlight racquets. 1hbh's do qutie well as whipping through really helps. 2hbh's benefit from more weight in the hoop.
